Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: Clemencew McLaren is an Excellent Author Review: I read this book for school when I was in the 7th grade. Clemence McLaren retold the story of the Trojan War, in the viewpoint of the women in the war while the "real" record (The Iliad) only discuss what happen to the men. In the Iliad, Helen is only talked about in a few lines, even though she was supposedly the reason the war had happened. Our class was very fortunate to meet the author, Clemence McLaren! She talked about other books she wrote and she is a good writer, and a nice person. She seems very interested in what she is writing, and that makes the best authors of all. I recommend this book for all readers ages 9 & up if they like Greek mythology, or even books about women!

It is about the days of the Trojan War. It is told by Helen and Cassandra, two girls who lived the Trojan War. It was an exciting book. Our class was very lucky because we actually got to meet Clemence McLaren! She told us about her other books which seem interesting too. If you're into Ancient Greece, stories of Ancient Greece, and Greek Mythology, you will definetly like Inside the Walls of Troy.
Rating: ![4 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-4-0.gif) Summary: I.W.T review Review: Inside the Walls of Troy is an interesting and exiting book. It is a great retelling of the Trojan War, and it's characters. The storyline is well told, and easy to follow. I thought the description of the events and people were imformative and clear. The story was narrarated by Helen, a beautiful Spartan woman who was captured by the great Theseus of Athens. Helen's beauty was a stunning curse that followed her. This book is a real thriller.
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: Helen of Troy, Helen of Sparta Review: This is a very good book. This is a story about love, war, and trickey. After we read the book, we learned about how she came up with this book. Clemence McLaren came to our school and we talked to her about her book. I thought that Helen should have done more in this book more than just watching the battles and sitting on the wall.

It started out exciting, but it soon got boring. I usually don't like to read books that are like the Inside the Walls of Troy, but I thought it seemed good after I read the first couple of chapters. However my thoughts about this book changed after reading the first couple of chapters of Cassandra's story. It began to get boring and I didn't want to read it any more. Although since we had to read it for school I continued. The book had a good ending though so I was pretty satisfied.

Ms. McLaren really gave us readers an idea of what it was like being a woman in the Trojan War, it made me feel like I was lucky to be a girl in the 21st century. Hopefully you will get to read this book and enjoy it as I have. Ms. McLaren is a great writer, right up there with Homer to J.K. ROwling. I fully recomend it!
Rating: ![4 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-4-0.gif) Summary: none Review: In school, we are learning about Greek mythology and other related things. This book does a good job about telling us what happened in the war. It also describes how the life was back then. I think it was a great book with many interesting stories. For example, I liked the part where the Greeks left the horse on the beach, and the Trojans brought it inside there walls. It was a great book, and I recommend it to anyone.
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: The most electrifying book I have read in a long time. Review: Very good book. It is a great mixing pot for romance, action, and treachery. It is very emotional. There is even a bit of mystery with the fate of one of the main characters. Meeting the author was a great inspiration for me. I am an up and coming author who loves books, and this is a very good book. It has given me many ideas for my future books. Anyone can get ideas for stories or books from this book. I personally think that this book's only flaw is that it is too good. This book deserves recognition for its greatness. It solidified my interest in becoming an author. My working book "The Legacy of the Dark Wind" is definitely going to have a dedication to this book. If my book hits the top 100 (I'm crossin' my fingers) Clemence McLaren will be one of my best inspirations.
