Summary: Great book, different look at the Trojan War
Review: This book was very good at discribing the women of the of the Trojan war. I never thought how the women felt about Helen and the war. I only thought how the men felt on the battle field not the obsevers. I was disappointed in the ending, but I look fowared to reading waiting for Odysseus.

Summary: What I though About The Book.
Review: Hi! I like this book a lot because I think this is the first novel I actually read seriously. I am an illiterate person when it comes to reading. This was the first interesting novel I have ever read. However, I wish Clemence Mclaren would talk more about the topless women in the story though.

Summary: Inside the Walls of Troy
Review: Inside the Walls of Troy was such an exciting, and interesting book. It captures my interestso much that I can't put the book down. Although, it had some boring parts but it had plenty of detail of fighting and what it would have felt like to be a woman in the "Bronze Age" days.

Summary: great book!
Review: I found that this book was very interesting to a student of my age(12). I was captivated by the storys that Clemence McLaren put inside this book. The stories were intersting yet informational. I would have read it even if it wasnt assigned for school. The stories make you feel for the characters. It seemed like if during the book Helen was upset i would be upset also.after reading Inside The Walls of Troy, Clemence McLaren is at the top of my favorite author list. If you asked me to give any criticism about this book i would be speechless. I recommend Inside the Walls of Troy to any one intersted or not in greek culture.Probably ages 12 and up or it would be a little hard to understand.

mahalo for reading,

Summary: Great Book!
Review: Usually our class books are not very interesting and I cannot get in to the story, but this book really got to me. It seemed like Clemence Mclaren actually went back in time to interview Helen and Cassandra. The way that she made them sound so real was amazing. It was really interesting how Helen and Cassandra came together in the story. It is like you're learning about greek times yet there is a story of friendship going on as well. I recommend this book for ALL ages.

Summary: How the book was interpreted by the consumer
Review: This book displayed clemence mclaren's excellent writing ability. She told of how most royal women lived through the Trojan War. This was done in such a way that was appropriate for both adolescents and full grown men and women. She tells the story of the ancient war of Troy and Greecefrfom a womans prospective. This is quite interesting because stories from a mainly man dominated society are never heard in the voice of a woman. It unfortunately had some points where I felt that there could have been more description. Especially in the battle scenes. Personally I thought that she should have kept the story to Helen. Cassandras story was quite boring and she was way too much of a skeptic. This kind of put a damper on the whole story. Overall, great job Clemence!

Summary: Greek treasure delights Hawai'i!
Review: Clemence McLaren brings the women of ancient Greece to life in this realistic novel. Though nobody knows for sure how women thought and felt in those times, the ideas that the author proposed were very beliveable and inspiring to women of today. Our class had the priviledge of meeting her, and it was pretty cool to meet the woman who wrote the book that most of our class enjoyed. Though most of these reviews (and mine so far!) have talked about the "girl power" in her book, the war scenes and portrayal of men were also accurate and exciting! A favorite scene of mine was when Cassandra tries to warn her family and the whole city of Troy of the destruction that Helen would bring to their lives, but they don't listen. I think it's great how Cassandra told the truth about what she saw and spoke up instead of being quiet like most other women of that time. This book is great for any age over 8 (the war scenes might be too violent for the younger kids), and is not only for lovers of Greek mythology. Anyone will enjoy this gripping tale that Clemence McLaren has woven!

Summary: A creative twist on an old tale
Review: This book raises thought provoking question that are relative in todays society. She artfully tells the tale through the eyes of a woman, not often heard of in a usually male dominated world. Her discriptive details suddenly come to life as soon as you open the book. All in all this is a book that should be in every home library. If you have not read this book I highly recomend that you read it.

Summary: Wow, wow, wow! What a book!
Review: I couldn't believe I wasn't living this. The writing was just unreal. When you read this you can't help but say to yourself, "I hope he/she doesn't die." It has to be one of the best books I read about the trojan war I have read yet. The book is about a girl named Helen torn between her husband and the handsomest man in the world. Then when she runs away from her husband sparks fly. Then when Troy refuses to give her back to her husband the war starts. This book is filled with accurate facts and plenty of action. There is no doubt in my mind, this has to be the best ancient Greece story I have ever read.
