We have just read this book in class and I really enjoyed it. I feel that Clemence McLaren did a good job portraying the good side of Helen and Cassandra. In most of the other books Helen is very mean and snobby. Cassandra who is cursed by Apollo. Even with her sight of the future, nobody will believe her. In this story however she tries to do good, but to no avail. Altogether the book was very exciting filled with treachery and secret plans.Thank you, George Namilton

It is very interesting because it has 2 different parts, Cassandra and Helen. Helen incounters many different Greek gods and warriors. Clemence McLaren's book is very different because it is in the womens point of veiw and other authours write their book from a mans point of veiw. Aloha, PUN laserboy

The suspense never stops throughout the whole book, and it was very engrossing. I enjoyed Cassandra's view point, because I like to read about "different" people, and I feel that Helen's view point interesting as well because people can relate to her. Clemence McLaren chose a wonderful, unique way to portray the story "inside" the walls of Troy.

For an assingment we read this book. I thought it was a great book that focused a lot on the women in this time period. In other books it barely talks about Helen, the one who is considered as the one who started the war. It proved that women did have some importance in that time and that they weren't just nobody's. This is a great book for girls to read! Except for the part about Helen and Paris.

I really liked it because I usually don't read books about Greek methology, but this one caught me just from the second page. This book is also different because usually books about the Trojan war are about men, but this one has it from two women's points of view, Helen's and Cassandra's. I like the part when Theaseus comes and kidnappes Helen. That part made me so interested that I could not put the book down! Clemence McLaren came to our class and talked to us about her books and why she wrote Inside the Walls of Troy from two women's points of view.

Instead of talking from the men's side, it talked about the women's hardship. The only thing bad about it was that in some parts of it, the excitment wears down into a boring chapter(or chapters). The story is kind of odd though. It isn't that exciting, at least not as exciting as I would have liked it.

She made helen seem actually normal. All the other books who make her seem like a really mean and selfishperson but in this book she bit her nails and liked to ride horses. She didn't care about how she looked but that she had fun!personally, i wouldn't want to be married off to some guy i didn'tknow and had never met before. My father might have really bad tasteand i might not like him(i probably wouldn't either). The secondpart, Cassandra's Story, was relly confusing though because since shecould see the future the author would tell what Cassandra was thinkingand then it would acctually happen so you would get confused andwouldn't be sure if it happened or not. Other than that it was areally good book...

Rating: ![4 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-4-0.gif) Summary: beautiful curse Review: Inside the Walls of Troy was a very descriptive novel about the womans' view of the Trojan War. I enjoyed this book not only because I love reading historical fiction, but also because it was narrated by a woman's point of veiw. It didn't just state the plain, boring facts, but also described the battles and devastation of the war. I especially liked reading the second part of the book, narrated by a girl from Troy, Cassandra, who could see the future. The frustrating thing was that nobody would believe her. When whe predicted the war, and as usual no one believed her, I felt especially frustrated and helpless. I like these kinds of books, the kind that really makes me feel for the character. I also liked the way Mrs. McLaren wrote the way the Greeks and Trojans interpreted storms, diseases, and other disasters. It was amusing that they thought the disease was "arrows shot from Appollo". Helen of Troy, one of the main characters, was the prettiest girl in the world, but she also started the Trojan War. So she difinitely was cursed.
