Rating: ![3 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-3-0.gif) Summary: The reason the Trojan War started Review: Helen is the most beautiful woman of all Greece, and possibly of everywhere. Rumor has it that she is the daughter of Zeus himself. She is called Helen of the flaxen hair and many suitors have died trying to marry her. The book starts out with Helen being "kidnapped" by Theosis of Athens. Though it is a kidnapping, Helen has a lot of fun on the journey to Theosis's home. This "kidnaping" is the first one to show Helen, who is growing up, how much she is worth. When she goes back to her home, she has to marry Prince Menelaus, who is a stocky red-haired man. A few years from then Helen has Menelaus's daughter and she is quite happy with her life until some visitors from Troy arrive. One of these visitors has a voice as smooth as honey and he looks as handsome as Helen is beautiful. His voice lures Helen and she finds herself running away with him back to Troy. Of course, Menelaus and the whole nation of Greece want their gem of a woman back, and will even start a war for her. This is how the Trojan War gets started. At this point Cassandra's story starts as well. Cassandra is much more stronger than Helen and has a gift -- or curse if you would like to call it. She can see permanitions and has visions of the future. This isn't good always because she, being a girl, has little regard in the men's business, and they won't listen to her speak of the permanitions she has seen. She has a brother named Helenus whom the men find more easy to believe. Both Cassandra and her brother Helenus have this curse and they try to make the best of it. However, sometimes no matter how hard they try the best just doesn't come out of the worst.

After I finished it the first time, I thought about it for weeks afterwards. I've read it many, many times. A must read for any one who knows or wants to know about the Trojan war. In this book, you get inside every one's emotions, etc. and... It's just great! A MUST READ!!
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: A great book Review: I thought it was a great book. The great part about the book was that it was that it was told in the opinion of the women. Another great part of the book is that it was very very realistic in the sense that the battles were all sweat and grime, it was not the glorius battles that we think of. Cassandra's story was the best.
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: Inside the Walls of Troy Review: "Inside the Walls of Troy" is the most wonderful action- filled, heart-touching book about the Greek times I have ever read .It is told by two very different Greek Princesses. The first part of the book is told by Helen of Sparta, who later becames Helen of Troy. Helen's story starts when she is declared the most beautiful, mortal women in all the world. At twelve she is kidnapped by pirates. When she is finally returned to her father, many men want her hand in marrige. Her father chooses a nobleman named Menelaus, who she is forced to marry. Soon after, Helen fell deeply in love with Menelaus'good friend named Paris and runs away to Troy with him. The second part of the book is told by Cassandra, Paris' sister. She tells about the war between Sparta and Troy .This war was fought because Paris would not give Helen back to her husband, Menelaus. If there was one thing I could change it would be to make the book longer. I loved it and recommend it highly.

I bought this book out of a Scholastic magazine and fell in love with it! When I need a great book to read, I always turn to Inside the Walls of Troy. It is a wonderful story because it gives you two differant perspectives: one of the 12 year old princess, Helen of Sparta, the most beautiful woman in the world. The other is from a 19 year old girl named Cassandra, who foresees the future. If you love romances, war stories, and mysteries, you will love Inside the Walls of Troy!!!
Rating: ![4 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-4-0.gif) Summary: Boring-ok- and grate Review: The middle was so boring I had to put the book down. Then the middle was ok but nothing special. It was at the end and towrds the end were I could not put this book down. I say read this book if you have to read it, if you are studying the trojan war, or if you are incharested in that kind of thing like wars and stuff like that. Other wise steer clear of this book-unless you want to take a nap, but it dose get better.
Rating: ![4 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-4-0.gif) Summary: Inside the Walls of Troy Review: Though this was a very moving and touching book, the author took many liberties with history, such as Helen and Cassandra being friends. If Cassandra could truly see the future, I doubt if she would make friends so readily. Another problem with this book is that it had no bibliography. I cannot believe that the author could have put this book together with help only from 3 sources. But it was a good book, definately a 'must have' if you are a Troy fanatic.
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: One of the best History books!! Review: This book is Awsome!! I read it a couple of years ago and fell in love with it. It makes the whole history thing much more understandtable!! It is a must read!!
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: One of my Favorite Books Review: I loved the authors idea of how Clemence McLaren told the story. We got two sides of the story! One was from Helen who is a major character in the story and another from Cassandra (ehom I think is the most interesting character). The boook is fun to read and noot to overwhhelmingg. I definately recommend it!
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: Inside the Walls of Troy Review: This book was awesome! It is a story of a war over the most beautiful girl in the known world. It is the Trojan War from the women's point of view. I liked it when at 12 years old, Helen got kidnapped by the famous warrior Thesus. This story may tell it from the women's point of view, but it's not all shallow, only telling the safe, happy parts. It describes the war itself with all its blood and tragedy. It amazes me that two prosperous countries could kill people over one unnaturally beautiful woman who's already married? There were many deaths. But I do feel sorry for Helen. If I were her, I wouldn't want to go back to my rightful husband after eloping with a gorgeous man. Read this book.
