Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: Inside the Walls of Troy is a five star! Review: This book was a interesting and I couldn't put the book down. This book is very realistic and it also has many details. The only problem with the book was that it wasn't long enough. This author is a great writer and I hope to read more of her books in the future.
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: A VALIANT FIRST EFFORT Review: My only complaint about INSIDE THE WALLS OF TROY is that the novella wasn't longer. It felt as if I'd just picked it up and, before I knew it, the story was done! Clemence McLaren has crafted an admirable re-telling of a the classic Trojan Wars tale from the standpoint of Helen and Cassandra. While the concept is not entirely unique, and while the short format of this novella never quite reaches the depth of characters that one finds in the only comparable work on this theme from the female perspective (a.k.a. THE FIREBRAND by Marion Zimmer Bradley) McLaren's characters are consistently and cleverly drawn and entirely believable. I can't wait to read future publications by this talented author.
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: Inside The Walls Of Troy Review: This book is by far on of the few books that is worth reading. It is a great book, and the reason I gave the book 5 stars is because this book was making you learn, but it was also making you want to read. This book has to be the best ( or very, very close)book I have ever read. Ever since I read this book, I have been into Helen. She was my favorite character. If you like the Trojan War and heroic tales, you should definetly read this book!
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: A great book! Review: Inside The Walls Of Troy is a wonderful book and is one of my favorites! Clemence McLaren is such a great author. I loved reading it from the point of view of the women. The one problem was that I wish that there would have been more from Helen's point of view. But anyway, I loved this book and give it 5 stars! Anyone who likes historical fiction will love this book.
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: Inside the Walls of Troy Praise Review: A stunning, fasinating book about the woman who lived thru the Trogan War. Very detailed and smart. Tells about the culture, fashions and life-style of rich Greek and Trojan women.
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: Absulutely Wonderful and Seductive Review: I read this book when I was in 6th grade, and a year and a halflater, I'm still reading it, for the fourth time! It is by far one ofthe best books I have ever read. Such insightfulness and fullness issomething you don't usually see in any novel. After reading the Iliad and the Odyssey, it is so obvious lots of effort and research was put into the book. The book concentrates on Helen and Cassandra's viewpoint, I loved it because it had women as main and strong characters that didn't need men to do things for them, but were fiesty and could fend for themselves (I'm a femenist, can't you tell? Great book for femenists). Anyway, it's a gripping and great example of storytelling. Hyponotic, seductive, it sweeps me off my feet and into a 3,200 year old land as if I were there listening to these women talk. An excellent piece of literature, sure to become a classic!
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: This book deserves more recognition! Review: This was one of the most fantastic books I have ever read. As a fervent feminist and lover of Greek mythology and history, this book appealled to me from all aspects. It re-tells the Trojan War from the viewpoint of Cassandra and Helen. No one knows what the women were really like, but Clemence McLaren did an excellent job in making them appear three-dimensional and realistic. All our records of the war (e.g. Homer) have discussed the men. It's time the women got some recognition! Anyway, this was an amazing book. I recommend you read it. You may cry at the end.
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: Very accurate and satisfying Review: I thought this book created a good sense of the turmoil that took place during the Trojan War. I also was pleased to see that Polyxena had a substantial place in the story, for I always felt that as a character she didn't get enough attention. A must read for any mythology buff!
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: Gives a new point of view on the Trojan War Review: The battle of Troy is one of Greece's biggest war ever known. It was started by a woman name Helen. She had fell in love with a Trojan prince named Paris who took her home with him to Troy. After Helen's husband found out she was gone, and left with Paris he went after her. By doing this it started the Trojan War over the most beautiful woman in the world. They say with all the kings helping King Menelaus a thousand ships were sent after her. The people of Troy had also fallen in love with Helen, and would not give her up without a fight. A fight is what they got, a seven year long one. With the strength of Achilles, and smarts of Odysseus the Greek's had a shoe in to win. Of course they did, even after the death of Achilles th Greek's were ahead. After believing they had one the war the Trojan's had a great feast to celebrate there victory. Then the dam broke loose the Greek's were inside the wall's and Troy was forever gone. The Greek's stormed the palace killed the men, and took all the riches and women. Only a few Trojan's escaped the terrible future the Greek' would have given them.
Rating: ![4 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-4-0.gif) Summary: Accurate and masterfully retold Review: This one is mythologically on the mark and well researched. Gripping and filled with the epic tragedy of Troy's last stand. The only problem I had with it was the berserk brute impression of Achilles and the portrayal of Helen. While others applaud it, I found Helen's character especially shallow.
