Rating: Summary: Impossible to put down--you become one of the characters! Review: I can't summarize this book or give it praise enough. One of the best books I've ever read (the others being by Marsden also). You're completely engulfed in the book--obessed actually--and even though you're as scared as the characters are and sweating in their place, you can't put the book down without the urge to continue it! The reader senses all the emotions as the teens, tastes the sweat they perspire, and wipes the tears that the characters cry. One outstanding story.
Rating: Summary: This book captures war like never seen before. Review: This book is fantastic, you get into it and you just stop reading. After reading it you will want to read the rest of the series. All the books in this series are heart warming. There is even a romance in all the fighting. I garentee you will love it.

I searched high and low through Winnipeg and found a copy. It was great, something that I definitely couldn't ever put down. I had read the entire book in about two days. I can't wait to read the rest of the series now!

Rating: Summary: A great book about trust, friendship and courage. Review: Tomorrow when the war began was great. I loved it right till the very end. It's the kind of book that keeps you reading and reading because the end of the chapters keep you guessing all the time. It gives you an insight to what war would be like if we had one now. There's a bit of everything in this book:Romance, action, emotional scenes. Basically it's a book for anybody who's interested in adventure and a lot of tension. I liked this book a lot because of the way it was worded. It gave you all the feelings and emotions each of the characters was feeling as well as what the surroundings were like so you could actually feel like you were that character, there, feeling all the slightest movements that were incredibly frightening to them. The bad thing about this book is that it's the kind of book you can only really enjoy the first time you read it. After that it's still good, but you won't have the feeling of not knowing what's going to happen next. I personally feel sorry for John Marsden who didn't have the privelege of reading it for the first time from scratch like me and many of you. This book is part of a series and if all of the books are as good as this one it'll definitely be my favourite series of books yet. Get this if you want a really good read and you won't be disappointed.
Rating: Summary: unrealistic yet still enthralling Review: These books are about what happened when a group of school kids got caught up in a war, when another country decided to invade Australia. These books are unrealistic, but other then that, they have very interesting stories and can almost convince you that teens on their own with hardly any weapons or adult aid can survive and help the Australian and New Zealand armies win the war. The relationships between the characters is probably the most realistic part of the entire story and Ellie is very strong which is more then likely why the books are so popular. I'd recommend these books to anyone who likes a good fictious novel about teenagers, war and the Australian bush.
