Rating: Summary: Tomorrow when the war began Review: I LOVED the whole series! I wish I could read them all over again and not know what happens. The series got a 5+ star rating from me. The end was unexpected and I thought it would be a different ending, although it was still great. Keep up the good work John.
Rating: Summary: Not Marsden's best... Review: Since everyone else is giving this a 5 I thought I'd add my 2c. If this had been the only John Marsden book I'd read I would probably call it the best book ever, but while it was a great read I didn't think it had the impact of some of his other books. After reading Dear Miffy I could think about nothing else for days on end - Tomorrow didn't really have that effect. If you thought this was great then check out some of his other stuff. Right now I'm reading The Dead of Night which is much better IMO. Still average Marsden is better than most writers at their best. Like someone else said, parents should read this before handing it to their kids.
Rating: Summary: Awesome Book Review: I I have only read one of the books in this series, "Tomorrow, When The War Began," and it was an awesome book. It was one of the best books i have ever read, in the top 5. Now I was wondering if anybody else knew all the other books in the series who have read this, and the order in which they go on, because I'm interested in reading the others, but want to read them in order. But anyways, back to this book, it was exciting, and a page turner, it was very cool. I hope you all will enjoy this book.
Rating: Summary: A great book for teens. Review: This is an excellent story if you are a young adult searching for an exciting series of books. Ellie and her friends go camping and return to their home to find everyone gone. They investigate the city and realise that Australia has been invaded by an unknown enemy. Follow their adventures through this gripping book written brilliantly by John Marsden. I couldn't wait to read the next part in the series as "Tommorow, when the war began" is an excellent first part to the saga.I guarantee that once you start reading, you won't be able to put it down!
Rating: Summary: Not just for teenagers Review: On the recommendation of a friend, and upon finding a set of all 7 books in this series on special, I bought them. I'm glad I did - I don't think I could have coped if I had had to wait, after finishing the first book, to buy the next. This is an exceptional series, written in an elegantly simple and direct style, which covers a range of issues and emotions well beyond anything I had the opportunity to read when I was in the age group the books are (ostensibly) designed for. I write this review as I approach the closing chapters of Book 7 and, speaking as a professional person who normally doesn't think much of most fiction writing, I have found the series to be intelligent, absolutely gripping, and truly moving. If you can't see how, read, then re-read, the passage when Lee takes Ellie to the Wirrawee cemetery. I am now trying to find a set in hardcover, to put away for my children not yet born.
Rating: Summary: WOW!!! Review: this book really rox. be warned, there are 7 books and unless you want to go on the most fantastic, adrenilin pumped journey of your life, than do not buy this book. there are twists and turns and you never know what to expect next! It all revolves around a small town called Wirrawee in Australia. there, there are 7 teens who decide to go camping in the bush instead of going to the annual Wirrawee show. when they come back from their camping ground, they find there homes with no one in them. all the livestock are wasting away and there isn't an adult in sight. a fax that one of the kids has in their machine tells them to go bush, and to run for their lives. another country has invaded their land, their country, and there's nothing that they can do about it but survive. Or is there...?
Rating: Summary: It was the one of the greatest teen books i've ever read Review: Tomorrow : When the war began was one of the best books i've read this summer second only to the fifth book in the series Burning for revenge. Ive read it four or five times and it never gets boring. When i start I just cant stop. and five times is pretty good for a 13 year old.
Rating: Summary: PHENOMENAL!!! Review: Oh my goodness!! This is SUCH a wonderful book!! I completely love it, as well as the ones that follow it. The series is spectacular and if you don't give these books a try, you are certainly missing out!!
Rating: Summary: Excellent! Review: This is my favorite book. Ellie's insights on humanity really reflect her situations well. Once I started reading it I couldn't put it down. I was especially glad to read about the relationship between Ellie and Lee. It's a great book!
Rating: Summary: Are All Of John Marsden's Books This Good? Review: Well, I hope there are- I am now proud to say that since Thursday, I now own all of the Tommorrow books. And that's something for me because I have never owned all the books in a series before. These books are...not what I usually read, yet I find them maybe to be some of the best books I've read- Okay, so maybe I've only read three and a bit of them, but stil....anyway, I only wish there were movies on these! They'd make excellent movies!
