Summary: A Must read for pregnant teens!
Review: I read this book when i was 17 years old. I was also pregnant and still in highschool. I am glad, to this day, that my english teacher had made me read it and do a report. It helped me alot. Even if I hadn't been pregnent it was a good book. It's especially a good book for teenage girls to read to keep them from getting pregnant! It has a great plot and a great message. Even as a teenager I couldnt put this book down, I had read it all in a few hours!

Summary: Tells it like it is...
Review: I really liked this book because it was extremly realistic and down-to-earth. It goes through the year before Emily gets pregnant to when her daughter turns 3 years old. When I became pregnant a year ago I bought many books on teen pregnancy, but most of them were so hokey and the mother almost always gives the baby up for adoption in the end. I liked this book because it gave me an idea of how hard it would be if I decided to keep my baby. I am proud to say today I have a beautiful 5 month old daughter. This book really helped me figure some things out, and I would recommend it to any pregnant teenager out there!

Summary: Detour For Emmy
Review: I think this book was excellent and I think it deserves five stars. It tells about a girls will to make it with her baby. She doesn't have much support though, her mom wants her to get an abortion, her brother can't really help because he's in and out of jail, and her boyfriend leaves her.She ends up having the baby and does the best she can. There are some bad things about this book too.For the most part though it was pretty good.I was the first one to read the book and then it was passed around to all my friends.I think that if you are a teen you should really read it because I think it will make sure you make the right choices because it tells you how hard it is and all the sacrifices you'll have to make with a baby.Even if you are a guy you should read it because it tells all the sacrafices they have to make too.So read this book it is one of the best books I have ever read.

Summary: Too explicted for 8th graders or even High Schoolers
Review: The book is too sexually explicted for young readers, I have no problem with the story line. I think our children know enough with out giving them something to sit and giggle about. The book could have been writen a bit more tasteful. Thank You

Summary: Excellent Read for Teens
Review: This book was on my teenage daughter's recommended reading list at school. My daughter is not an avid reader but after giving this book accolades, I decided to read it myself. I found this book very well written and the message was conveyed clearly and realistically. After reading this book, I had a discussion with my daughter and was amazed and delighted to see that the book had reinforced all the things I have been teaching her about the consequences of teenage sex that had seemed to be going in one ear and out the other for years. Peer pressure in high school is overwhelming enough as it is, and this book accomplished in a much better way, what I, as a mother, have been trying to accomplish on my own. Written from a teenage viewpoint, this book helped my daughter relate in a much better way than I or any other than any parent could strive for. The only thing my daughter complained about after reading this was that she felt the author should have stressed more on the difficulty in caring for a baby on a day to day basis, especially for a teenager (i.e. the everyday trials and tribulations you go through from the incessant crying, walking the floors all night, teething crankiness, chasing after them, dealing with illness and the extensive patience (and maturity) one needs in order to cope with a baby every single day). This book should be on every required reading list in schools across the United States. It should be viewed as an excellent aid in teaching teens across America the importance of safe sex and abstinence. Kudo's to the author on this accomplishment.
