Summary: Underwhelming based on the previous reviews
Review: Upon reading this book, my opinion is that the author is trying to glorify the stereotype of a "wallflower". The character is sensitive and introverted but in the book, those qualities are met with understanding and acceptance which to me seems unrealistic. It has been my experience that inviduals who exhibit these qualities in real life tend to be lonely or exist on the outskirts of their respective social circles due to the fact that sadly, very few people realize the depth that such individuals possess.
In my opinion, the book reads like the fantasy of one such person in which everyone recognizes that the main character is intelligent and special and the things he says profound. I suppose in that respect, the book lives up to its title. However, as with most fantasies, the narrative of the story has a very limited perspective and the characters and events are too one-dimensional to be believable.

Summary: Great
Review: I'm someone who usually doesn't read outside of school...only two or three times including this one. I opened this book up after practice one day and sat there...and read and read and read. I stopped to finish homework...and picked it up again at night and the next day i carried it around school with me and read whenever we had about 3 minutes left in class or finished a test or something of the sort...haha and yeah and then i went home and had one more part left and i finished it...i could read it about 50 times and i dont think i would get tired of it. Most of charlie's feelings in the book can be related to by anyone. On the first page...this is my favorite part 'I just need to know that someone out there listens and understands...' at times, everyone can relate to that...please read this... I also agree with the review for the losers' club by richard perez. another weird book I couldn't put down.

Summary: A true masterpeice.
Review: Reading this book was one of the best experiences I have ever had. Stephen Chobosky truly created a masterpeice when he wrote the perks of being a wallflower. As I read the book I felt like I was Charlie, I felt all that he felt and I identified perfectly with him. I believe that this a book worthy of anyones time.

Summary: "Feel infinite"
Review: This book was absolutely amazing! Currently im a high school student and this book was an amzing relation to my life, to the happenings going on. It really makes you appreciate life, and it teaches you alot. The book truly allows a relationship to develope between the main character Charlie, and the reader, because all he writes, he writes to you. It's a wonderful book with amazing quotes, deep thoughts, and general teenage angst.
I recommend it for any and all HS students or College students, i dont kno how much older people will relate to it, but it is still an amazing book.

Summary: It Won Me Over!
Review: My problem with this novel at first was that the main chracter, Charlie, was a little "too sweet." By that I mean the author was trying too hard to make us like him. He annoyed me a little, being so innocent and "good." I also didn't care as much about his relationship with his family as I did about his relationship with his friends, especially the girl he falls in love with. I liked the party scenes, the parts where he gets messed up. I also like the format of the book which is like a bunch of letters. You are like his best friend, receiving these letters. In the end, I really like this novel. I read it about 3 weeks ago and parts of it have stayed with me. Right there, you know it's a good book! So check out THE PERKS OF BEING A WALLFLOWER. Special thanks, too, to the other reviewer that recommended THE LOSERS' CLUB by Richard Perez. That was another interesting and fun novel I picked up off Amazon! Happy New Year, folks! 2004 will be a great year! Let's rock!

Summary: Remember when we all felt infinite...
Review: I thought this book was amazing. When I saw the MTV logo on the spine, I had my doubts about whether I should read it or not. I figured I'd give it a shot anyway and I was happy that I did. I don't think it should be compared to The Cather In the Rye as much as it is, though. Sure it's all about teenage angst... but it will never live up to the Catcher in the Rye.

That being said... I'd just like to add that I read a lot of books. I usually don't go anywhere without a book. It kind of disappoints me that people are saying that the only people who like this book are people who don't read. That's not entirely true.

I thought this book was very well written and I loved the letter format, it added a more personal touch to this book. Charlie was a very interesting character and it was very entertaining to hear his thoughts.

I wouldn't go as far as to say that this book changed my outlook on life or that it made me a different person, but it provided good entertainment for a couple hours and I felt good after I had finished it.

Summary: Wow
Review: This book took me completely by surpise. It is a poignant story of a boy in high school the epitomizes the "coming of age" novel. Chbosky's character Charlie belongs in the ranks of Catcher in the Rye's Holden Caulfield as being an epic voice for youthful sorrows and celebrations. This book is absolutely beautiful.
