Rating: 5 stars
Summary: great
Review: Similar to Catcher in the Rye or Youth in Revolt, but with a more enjoyable plot than Catcher in the Rye through the eyes of a more mentally afflicted and sensitive kid. Very easy to relate to/sympathize with.

Rating: 4 stars
Summary: good.
Review: I do not think that this book is really comparable to The Catcher in the Rye; it is not any kind of revolutionary book of its era or anything to that effect. However, I do think that beneath some of the possibly more seemingly juvenile subjects touched upon in The Perks of Being a Wallflower, the book makes some very interesting, not yet touched upon points about growing up and fitting in, and does so in a way that is different from the rest of the 'teen angst' novels that seem to be consuming the literary world. I related strongly to the narrator, enjoyed his style of writing, and was even caught off guard by some of the novel's twists. Overall, I found it a good, entertaining book, though I'm not sure how appealing it would be to anyone beyond their teenage years.

Summary: Terrible
Review: This was really a bad book. I mean the story line was alright its just that the characters were so uninteresting and flat. The main character kept switching back and forth between a really mentally retarted kid and a normal teenager. There were parts that were extreamly unrealistic and just plain stupid. I do not recomend this book.

Summary: enjoyable
Review: When I first read this book I thought it was good, but looking back, I enjoyed it more than I thought. The main character is a rather strange boy that has unique experiences. I don't think the main character is so much a normal teenager as an unstable individual. Overall, I could not identify with the main character, but could appreciate his plight. It's an easy enjoy read.

Summary: A Moving Tale..
Review: about a boy coming of age.

Charlie sees the world more intensely than most. He observes--sometimes to the extent that he forgets to participate. His story unfolds in a year's worth of letters to an anonymous stranger and brings us into Charlie's world.

The story will touch you and remind you of what it was like to grow up. The pain, the confusion and the occasional joy!

Summary: I loved it
Review: I read this book when I was about 12. I am now 17. It has remained one of the most important influences in my life.

Rating: 4 stars
Summary: Read it in one sitting.
Review: It was great book, loved it. Me, not being the most outgoing of sorts, loved the book because it was about the stuff I never did but always wondered if I'd ever do. And Charlie was the most amazing character. I could never tell if he was shy or flamboyant. He cried often, was very sensitive, yet would smoke pot everyday. I wish I knew someone like him, he seemed amazing.

Only bad things about the book were the ramblings Charlie would get into. (i.e "What A Wonderful Life" speech....) It was nice, but a little sketchy around the edges.

Summary: One of the most amazing books i've read
Review: When i started the perks of being a wallflower, i was reading it on a recommendation from a friend who loved it. well, my friend was so right. The perks of being a wallflower is not only funny but touching at the same moment. It carefully details a boy's life in his freshman year of high school, being a pariah and not having any friends his own age. Even though i couldn't personally identify with all of his pain and suffering, the exquisite writing on the part of the author made all of that seem real. I'm not a very fast reader unless i really love a book, and i finished this book in less than a week. From the moment i picked it up, i could not put it down. Also, the letter format made it very easy to read and be able to put down and pick up again. For impatient readers who aren't able to stand long chapters and uneventful books, look no further. There is so much happening yet so many profound letters too. I would recommend this for all ages of readers. Being a freshman in high school, i loved it. I didn't have to read it for school, just for fun, and i thoroughly enjoyed it. It is truly one of the best, non-corny coming-of-age novels that there are.

Summary: yowza!!!
Review: I absoulutely loved every minute of reading this book. This is about a boy name Charlie who the reader finds out very early in the story is a bit different than most teenage boys. I don't want to give a lot away but he is a very emotional person and cries a lot sometimes for no apparent reason. Stephen Chbosky is a wonderful author in the sense that his writting style is so different than any other books I have ever read. If you are looking for a great book that is out of the norm, read this book. I loved this book because I am around Charlie's age and it gave me a glimpse at what boys are thinking at this age. It's also got a suprise ending which is always great to have in any book and or movie. One of the best parts of this books is it is open to inerpretation meaning a lot about it is left to the reader's imagination because the author doesn't give details on some things which makes it even more thrilling. If you are looking for a coming of age story but one that is very unique than all the others, read this book and I promise you that you will not be disapointed.
