Rating: Summary: It;'s a Good Book Review: If you like stories about people with problems then you’ll like the book Gingerbread by Rachel Cohn. This book is about a girl named Cyd Charisse, recovering helion, who is sent to stay with her bological father in New York, the man she’s only seen once at the age of five. The book shows how the transition was for Cyd and her half brother and sister. The only problem the reader might not like is the ending. It feels incomplete, like there's more to the story locked in the authors mind. The ending of the book feels a little rushed. Cohn should write another novel to finish up where Gingerbread left off. Cohn might also want to make a series out of the book following Cyd thru the rest of her life. Readers might also want to hear Justin's side of the story, or even Shrimps. The story is good but with some continuations or add on's it could be even better.
Rating: Summary: gingerbread Review: Gingerbread Criticism Patrice Newman If you a person who doesn't like reading books, but has to read a book than Gingerbread is the book to read.Rachel Cohn (the author) did a great job of describing what all the characters' characteristics. She also did a good job of describing the scenery as in like oceans and her home things like that. She really made me feel that I was there in the book with Cyd Charisse(which is the main character).Rachel Cohn did a real good job of just getting teenagers into the book.I really would think that it was a teenager who wrote the book. She talked about all the topics that just about any teenager would want to read about. She talks about cheating out of marriage,drugs,pregnancy,boyfriend/girlfriend situations, school, just about anything that a teenager would want to read about and would think is interesting. I really believe that Rachel Cohn should do a sequel to this book.It was a good book to read and I really enjoyed it but I think that you didn't end the book well.It was very descriptive the whole entire book until the end.Cyd went through all that trouble through the entire book and then at the end she just goes home. There's no description about what happens when she gets home or what happened on her way home nothing.Hopefully there will be a sequel so that I can find out what happens to Cyd when she gets home and when she's on her way home. There's not too many things wrong with the book to talk about. It was very well written. Gingerbread was a well written book. It was very interesting and is good for any teenager of all types to read.It is a very pleasurable book for female or male teenagers who have been through a lot including boyfriend/girlfriend problems, drug problems, and parent problems. This book could be helpful and enspirering to anyone who had gotten pregnant and that has gotten an abortion.Gingerbread was a good book from the start. It took a couple of pages for me to get into but I was already into the book and wanted to read it because my teacher read a couple of chapters in class. When she first started reading it I just knew that I would like it because of the content that was in the book.Though when I first saw the book and when I bought it I really thought that I wasn't going to like the book because on the cover there was a white girl with stripped stockings knee high tied up boots with ugly bracelets and ugly bracelets and a rag doll at her age. That's just not my style.I'm into rap music,Jordans, jeans, and stuff like that. That taught me how to never judge a book by its cover.Well, that was a really enjoyable book. Thanks for taking the time to read this criticism and hopefully there will a sequel that I could enjoy.

Rating: Summary: Gingerbread Review: Gingerbread is about a 16 year old girl dealing with teenage problems. Her biological father lives in New York, while she lives in San Francisco with her mother and step-father. She doesn't get along with her mother very well and she has practically no friends. Her closest friend is an elderly woman living in a nursing home. Gingerbread will keep you interested because it deals with teenage problems of love, hate, sex, lies, and confrontation with the parental units. If you are a teenager, especially a young girl, you could probably relate to many of the issues that this book talks about. Gingerbread is an interesting book because it is written in the form of a diary. Its, kind of like you are going into the main character's mind. The paragraphs and sentences are random, and some don't have anything to do with the previous one, but that's what makes it so interesting. I thought this was a really good book and it was easy to relate to. The only thing I had a problem with was the ending. It just didn't seem like the right time or place to end the story. It seems like there should be more to it, and I think that a sequel is definitely needed.
Rating: Summary: Gingerbread Review: If you are a young teenage girl, you may understand this book well. The book Gingerbread is about a young girl. Her parents are separated. She doesn't see her dad very often, she lives with her mom and step father. Her mom isn't very helpful to her about the teenage problems she is going through. At only 16 she was kicked out of boarding school because of inappropriate behavior and interactions with peers. In leaving boarding school, she also left her boyfriend. But as time went on she found someone else to take her mind off him. She is an independent girl with not many friends. She is very close with an old woman living at a nursing home. Gingerbread is very interesting, but very real. It deals with real life and the problems that can come with it. On the other hand, I thought that the book focused more on the bad things that can happen to someone during their teenage years, not the good things. I didn't think that the ending was the best ending unless the author plans on adding a sequel or something similar to that. As a teenager reading the book, I thought that it was easy to understand and relate to.

Rating: Summary: my favorite book in a long time Review: Gingerbread was one of the best books i've read in a long time. one of the other reviews said that this book had a "picture perfect" ending. it, however, did not. it was a very realistic picture of what can come out of a little honesty. and nothing can be perfect. just better. i've been in almost the same situation (except i never got caught), and it was cool to see that this fictional character's point-of-view was very much like my own. i loved it.
