Summary: Very interesting . . .
Review: This book gives a wonderful description of Mary's life from her perspective. It is ecspecially interesting if you have read any books about Elizabeth the I, because Elizabeth was one of Mary's problems.

Summary: The Other Side of the Story
Review: This is a first-person account of "Bloody Mary", Queen Elizabeth I's older half-sister. "Mary, Bloody Mary" is fun to read and very well-written. I especially like the parts when she is excluded from her father's love. It really makes you feel for Mary - especially because it's all true! Although I have always disliked Mary for her cruelty to Elizabeth, this book gave a sympathetic look at how Anne Boleyn (and eventually Elizabeth) took away Mary's rights. While I was reading this book I, too, started to feel sorry for Mary, but it ended too soon for me to really feel sorry for her. And the epilogue reminded me that no matter how rotten a deal Mary got because of Anne Boleyn, she had no right to be so mean to Elizabeth (and the countless other people she murdered - hence "Bloody Mary").

Summary: Truth is Stranger Than Fiction
Review: Mary, Bloody is a extrodinary read. The author writes a wonderful tale which seems more like fiction than non-fiction. She adds drama to the mix to make Mary seem more human than most historians portray her. I being a lover of British history (esspecially the Tudors) was just a must read for me. But even if you dislike history you will love this book, it proves once again truth IS stranger than fiction.

Summary: Great!
Review: This book was great, and I learned alot too. It shows what happened to Mary, and I also learned alot too. I'm 14, so enjoying a "learning book" is rare, so this is one you have to pick up! I would have given it five stars, except that for those of you who need a book that keeps you on your toes all the time, this isn't it. Most of the time you are, but not always

Summary: 'Mary' is great!
Review: I read this book not knowing anything about the life of Bloody Mary. This book was an incredible eye-opener, telling in great detail the story of Henry VIII and Anne Boleyn, the downfall of Catherine of Aragon, the birth of Queen Elizabeth, and the life of Mary Tudor in general. I recommend this book to all readers.

Summary: A difficult Relationship
Review: "Mary, Bloody Mary" by Carolyn Meyer is a wonderful historical fiction book. It tells the story of young Mary Tudor who has to cope with her parents' divorce, caused by her father's affair with another woman. Mary becomes the center of her father's (Henry VIII) anger. She must fight to keep her mother and herself alive. Together with the determination of Henry to have a son who will one day rule over England, and the other difficulties Mary must overcome, Carolyn Meyer's book is truly amazing!

Summary: This is a fantastic book!
Review: Told from Mary Tudor's view point, this fantastic work of art captivates the reader as it tells you the horrors in Mary's life. It shows how frustrated she is as her father, Henry VIII, goes through his many wives. I strongly recommened this book to anyone who has any interest in Mary Tudor, Henry VIII, or Elizabeth I.
