Rating: Summary: What a laugh Review: On a day with absolutely nothing to do, I read this book. I laughed so hard I almost cried. I'd read Ms Ibbotson's previous book, 'The Secret of Platform 13', and found it to be extremely predictable. So I didnt have high hopes for this one, but I was pleasantly surprized. My family kept asking me what was so funny, and I ended up reading several parts out loud, and everyone was laughing. Very originally written, with wonderful humor, crazy characters, events that will surprize you all the way through, and a nice twist at the end.
Rating: Summary: A MUST READ for Harry Potter fans! Review: If you love Harry Potter, you will love Which Witch. It hads the same humor and lovable characters. 'Keeps characters on a human scale, even when the supernatural is popping out all over'-quote from Harry Potter, that completely relates to this book as well
Rating: Summary: One of the Best Books I've Ever Read!!! Review: After I had read Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire, I had read many more books, hoping to find one that was equally enchanting. And it took quite a while for me to find one, until I stumbled onto this gem. This book is absolutely wonderful. Magic was present on nearly every page of this book, making me wonder about what surprises lay ahead. The ending is excellent, just how an ending should be; an ending in which everything was resolved and completed. If you love fantasy, if you love J.K. Rowling's, Rhoald Dahl's, or Brian Jacques's highly praised novels, then you'll agree with me that Which Witch? is a work of art.
Rating: Summary: With a distinct Ibbotson style, this book is quite enjoyable Review: After reading "SECRET OF PLATFORM 13" this summer, I thought that I would continue, by reading "Which Witch?" Though some may disagree with me, I think that it was a very sweet book. It was not"David Copperfield," but was anyone really expecting Charles Dickens? This story had believable characters, an interesting plot and good (if not predictable) turns of events. Ibbotson is on a roll of good books, and they are her first! So, congratulations Ms. Ibbotson for the marvelous stories.
Rating: Summary: An enchantingly funny novel of good and evil., Review: Which Witch? is a funny enjoyable novel strictly for children, but anyone who is in the mood for a funny good read, it is highly recommended. In all of Darkington, the witches are evil and unkindly. Everything is black, and bad manners are expected. When Arriman the Awful holds a contest to find a new wife so that he can have an heir, the contest is a dastardly one -- whoever can perform the darkest, most evil spell, shall become his wife. But in all of Darkington, there is only one girl who just can't seem to be evil -- Belladonna! No matter how hard she tries, she just can't be evil or dark, and she wants to marry Arriman the Awful, though how can she if she can't do anything evil? Wherever she walks, flowers bloom from theg ground, butterflies dance, and soft songs play in the air. She is too kinldy and soft, and she longs to do just something the slightest bit evil. She is doomed forever to be a White Witch -- someone who can never be or do anything evil. But when she manages do something that just might giver her hope to win, someone becomes aware -- and that someone will do anything to stop her. This was beyond funny a novel, and highly recommendable.

Rating: Summary: A good book that will capture a young reader's imagination Review: This a great book. I feel that it is for younger readers, andif I had read it a few years ago, I would have liked it even more. ...Even adults can enjoy this book thoroughly. I think it is just like a fantasy fairy tale, which in my opinion is great and worth reading!
Rating: Summary: The Witch Hunt Review: Arriman the Awful is searching for a wicked witch of Todcaster to wed. Then he can retire and his new child will take over his wizardry responsibilties. Arriman decides to make up a contest for the witches to do. In the contest, they must create a very black spell. Even though Arriman is looking for a horrid black witch, Belladonna, a white witch, trys out for the part. Belladonna just loves arriman with all her heart. I feel that this book was extraordinary! This novel has everything I like; witches, romance, and gruesomeness. This book was excellant and I would recommend it to everybody!
Rating: Summary: I wonder how this novel will end? (sarcasm) Review: Yes, that's right, it's the most predictable book I have ever read, which covers an immense spectrum of literature. I, being a member of a book group, had to digress from my normal readings of the Dune series and etc. to read this. I will hand it to it Ibbotson for the mild entertainment, but the story has no unexpected twists. For those of you in suspense at how the novel is going to end, I hope you graduate from this 5th grade reading level soon.
Rating: Summary: Which Witch is not the Question Review: This is a cute but pat and predictable book about wizards and witches. I found the story to be void of creativity. The outcome of the story was completely predicatable about one quarter of the way through the book. There were no new surprises after that as the story played out exactly as expected.
