Summary: Not living up to expectations!
Review: After reading the reccomendations I found for this book I couldn't wait to read it but I found it very dissapointing! I crave books with deep feeling, and I love lots of romance but after the first couple of pages I got bored. The book repeats itself over and over again, the plots are long and tiresome, and the feelings are described in a way I can only call superficial. I apologize to the people who liked this book; maybe the meaning just flew over my head, but I don't think I'd reccomend this to anyone.

Summary: A tremendously well written must read!!!
Review: All 10-15 year olds who enjoy reading books based on the reality of life should read this book. The mess that tangles itself in the first story never completely unwinds, and I believe most who read this book will agree that the family troubles with romances can occur in real life. Some may not realize it, but the author's theme is very real in society today even more than in '85 when the book was first published.

Summary: A must read!!
Review: I checked this book out of the library a couple times a year from the time I was 10 till I was 14. I have wanted to read it again ever since, so I bought it from Amazon and read it in an hour. You get so wrapped up in the characters lives it hardly seems possible when it ends. I want another generation.

Summary: An Incredible Book!
Review: I picked up"I Stay Near You" last night at a bookstore....and started to read it at about 11:30 p.m. I stayed up until 1 o'clock in order to finish the section set in the forties...and then first thing this morning, I picked it up and read it until the end. It's been 15 minutes since I finished it and I already want to read it again! Definitely recommended!

Summary: Good Book
Review: I read this book for a class assignment (I'm in the 9th grade). I didn't really look at the cover and see what it was about. I probably haven't read a book in about a year (besides the ones in school). Books don't interest me at all, so if I get a book, I usually read it in like 2 weeks, but I read this book in just one day. It might not have been all that suspenseful, but it made me want to turn the page and fight out what happened to all the characters. I would recommend this book to anyone looking for a good book, but I must warn you, once you read it, you won't put it down. The plot is first a little confusing, but keep reading, and it untangles into a love story.

Summary: I Stay Near You
Review: I saw this book in my teacher's class and it really compelled me to read it. I love the type of story that follows something like the ring to different stories. I could not stop reading this book. I told all my friends about it and they read it too!! This book really opened my eyes to what M.E. Kerr has written and since then I have read several other books by her. You MUST read this book if you like that kind of story! I would recommend this book to anyone who likes reading. M.E. Kerr wrote this book to bring both worlds together

Summary: Very lovely story!
Review: I Stay Near You is about three generations of two families. I liked it because it was a romantic story, and the characters seemed to be real. There wasn't a lot of action, but the story was good enough to keep me hooked. I like the idea of using three generations of the two families, but I was a little confused in the last part of the book. I was not so sure who the character was. After I found out that it was the grandson of the first character, I understood the story better.

This story kept my interest because the characters had so many problems. I liked the way the author would introduce new characters as the story went on. Also, the book was like reading history because it started in the 1930s and ended up in the 1990s. The book also had a part about the 1960s where it talked about the the Beatles. I heard about this singer group because they were famous. This historical information was interesting to learn because I knew very little about this time period. I can say that this book was very fun to read.

Summary: It was ok
Review: I thought that the begining of this book was terrific!! It kept me on the edge of my seat turning page after page, uplifted by the thick romance unfolding. Then all of a sudden it just died and a whole chain of events happened way too quickly. In the second part, the author brought in the ring and continued with the tradition of the Storm family, which was kinda cool. In the last part, I didn't understand why she made it as though the narrator was writing a letter for an English class. It just totally turned me off. I think if she did something with Powell and Mildred in the begining half and had them runaway together that would have made it so much better!!! and more romantic.
