Review: This edition and presentation of the Bible is the clearest, most accessible, and most inspiring edition I've found. It is aimed at teenagers, however, I'm no longer a teenager and I still find it's guidance and explanations indispensable. Even those who already own a Contemporary English Bible will find themselves turning to this edition time and again, due in large part to the section which includes more than forty articles that discuss, with scriptural support, topics like AIDS, sex, abortion, evolution, reincarnation, how to read and study the Bible, and what it means to be a Catholic Christian. I plan to purchase several copies as gifts for friends, and am certain my own copy will be a continual companion as I strive to follow Jesus. I recommend this edition to anyone wishing a closer relationship with God.

Summary: This is a great Bible, completely loyal to the Magesterium!
Review: This is a great Bible! The version (CEV) is very easy to read, and it has plenty of great sidebars in the text. It is completely orthodox and loyal to 2,000 years of church teaching. The articles in the front are great as well. As for the reviewer who said this Bible has questions and answers in front that Catholics shouldn't believe, I have no idea what he's talking about. They are based totally on Scripture and Church teaching. (Nor does this Bible necessary "believe in evolution", at least no more that Pope John Paul 2). If you want a Bible that is completely orthodox and loyal to the Magesterium as well as easy to read, this is a great one to have.
