Rating: Summary: Most Enjoyable Review: I have just finished reading Pierce's The Realms of the Gods, and I greatly enjoyed it as much as I did all the other books in the series. This may be due to the fact that for as long as I can remember, I have always loved animals, both real and imaginary, and entertained thoughtts of being able to speak with and become them. It was the titles of this series that first caught my eye as I was browsing the Sci-Fi/Fantasy section of a bookstore, so I bought the first one, Wild Magic. After that, I was hooked, and felt the need to read the rest. I like the writing style, easy and humorous, without leaving out anything important. And, in contrast to many books I've read, I liked the main characters, as well as many of the others. I like the adventurous and heroic, and very human spirits of the characters, each with their own faults, but still good despite that. I felt that I could identify a bit with each of them, especially the pivotal character, Daine. Since I "discovered" the fantasy genre about 4 years ago, when I was a high school freshman, I have read dozens upon dozens of books in the field, and I have to say that Pierce's books are among my favorites, and have a place of honor on the sagging shelves of my bedroom. I hope that Pierce continues to write wonderful books. The only thing this high school graduate and lover of art and writing ( 2 things I do myself) wonders is : now that Pierce has already written this series, what does that leave me to write about? :)
Rating: Summary: I love this series, I've read it a million times!!!!! Review: This book was my very favorite in the series. I knew thatDaine and Numair would finally get together and I was so happy whenthey did. I just want them to be married. I have written to Tamora Pierce and I intend to tell her that Daine and Numair need to have kids in a story or something. I didn't want the story to end, it was too suspenseful.
Rating: Summary: The best conclusion to a fantastic series. Review: I was thrilled to read about Daine's continued adventures in Tortall. The trip through the Realm of the Gods fascinated me. I was kept on the edge of my seat as we met with dragons, fought mages, and finally defeated Ozorne. I am completely obsessed with the characters and settings of Mrs. Pierce's first eight books. I could not put them down. I own all of them and urge everyone to read them from the beginning.
Rating: Summary: The best in this series Review: I think Mrs. Pierce did a wonderful job of creating believable characters. When ever I read one her books it seems like I'm really there. When Diane is fighting on the first bridge it's like you can almost see the immortals. This book shows lots of creative thought, plenty of research, and an open mind to fantasy. If you haven't read this yet you must be crazy. I hope she comes out with new series soon.
Rating: Summary: To the kids that reviewed this after I did. Review: To Athens, you've gotta be kidding me when you talk about her abandoning her 'special moments between characters'. You have to be, 'cause there's at least one, maybe more. To Tessa Lee, I *almost* cried during the book. I just cried today when I was reading it, during that unexpected, bizarre part.PS What I mean by the bizarre part is where there's a serious lack of them understanding each other. Y'know, the part where he's yelling at her.
Rating: Summary: I cryed when the thing ended Review: I loved the secres so much I cryed when I finished the whole book and I like never cry. I hope that she makes the next secerys about Daine tooo I realy loved her and Numiar I've done like 6 things for school about that last book
Rating: Summary: Not one of Pierce's best Review: In this series of books, I feel she has left behind the special serious moments of the characters that make her books so wonderful. Her faithful personal connection with the characters seems to be broken for the time being. I certainly hope this is not the end of her wonderus writing. Yet, I enjoyed a new adventure that involved Alanna, but I think that her last series was the best, still is the best, and will always be the best.
Rating: Summary: Great! The plot is well thought out. Review: Wonderful! Everyone knew that Daine and Numair would get together. But Pierce orchestrated it perfectly throughout the entire series, and ended it with only a little missing. WHAT HAPPENED NEXT? I am dying to know, and I bet everyone else is. Do Numair and Daine marry? If so, did they have children? What happen to the children? Please Ms. Pierce, write another series of Tortall books!
Rating: Summary: A must read, go on you know you want to Review: I knew it! I saw that Daine and Numair would get together. Duhh! But seriously, I think that the talent the Pierce displayed in the rest of the series means nothing now that the last book came out. Daine did a number of things that I hoped were going to happen in this book that I had to wait a entire 3 months to get. I must have read the other three books about 15 times before I read this. Just listen, if you haven't read this hey you're here, just press the little button and buy it. I definatly reccommend this to anyone!
Rating: Summary: The coolest book ever written! Review: This is a book that rocks! It has everything I look for: cool characters, an awesome plot, anything you can think of. Daine is, was, and always will be my favorite character. The only thing I didn't like about it was this little twist called Numair's brain kicking in ( that "it just dosen't seem *right*" thing in ch 7). I wrote it like that so it dosen't spoil the plot(although it's already been spoiled). Good work, Tammy!
