Rating: Summary: Locked In Time Review: This was clearly an astounding book. Lois Duncan has evidently done it again. Written a thriller not a soul could put done for more than a moment. Nore was visiting her father and her new, "young" stepmother, Lisette. At first she is enchanted with Lisette's never dying beauty, then she realized something is wrong. This woman her father has married has no sense of time. She over hears a conversation including Lisette and her daughter, Josie. They say that Nore is a threat because she has an uncanny awareness of of what Lisette utterly lacks. What type of threat could such a small unaware girl place on her fathers "new" family?? All is revealed in the thriller: LOCKED IN TIME.
Rating: Summary: Locked In Time Review: Can you imagine never growing older? Being stuck at the age you are right now for all eternity? If you were Lisette, Gabe or Josie in the novel "Locked In Time", by Lois Duncan, you'd know what it feels like to be the same age for over 100 years. Decades pass, new invention develop, those around you die, but you keep living on... When Nore Robbins goes to live with her dad, who recently remarried Lisette, she begins to sense something about her step-mother and her two kids. Through overhearing mysterious comments and piecing clues together, Nore begins to realize that her new step-family, by some strange occurence, never ages and never will because they are locked in time. The best part about this book is that it has it all (except comedy)... drama, murder, romance, mystery, suspense, science fiction and plenty of real life aspects. Having been written in first person main character, the book gives the reader an inside view on the story. You're right there with Nore as she's hearing the odd fragment of inforamtion and it's almost as if you are helping her piece clues together. The major lesson/moral that was clearest to me from "Locked In Time" was that some secrets just aren't meant to be kept behind closed doors forever. They're bound to be let out in the open sometime, especially if you try to hard to conceal them. Although the book isn't adult-themed, the plot and subtle clues about the ending throughout the book would make it difficult for anyone under 11 to understand and enjoy.
Rating: Summary: An thriling, exciting, interesting book...... Review: After I read this book, it has been on my mind since then. It really shocked me at the end. It has a really interesting but yet a sad ending, the one that would make you shed tears. This book is mixed with a little romance, mystery just for teens! I highly recommend this. The author of this book has a good and creative way in making the characters seemed "real". The story itself is really touching. Nore, a teenage girl went to visit her dad and her stepmom including her teenage son, Gabe and her daughter Josie. After a while, Nore and Gabe fell in love with each other. But after living with them for a while, she discovered things are different and weird, and her dad always have to go to work. She is left home with her stepmom and her new "family" and things are just creepy....... until one day the secrets are finally revealed. Once you get to the ending, it really shocks you. Not to mention how the story will shake up your emotions. This is truly a wonderful book!
Rating: Summary: A great suspense, it makes you believe fictional happenings Review: "You and your father are in terrible danger! You must tell Dad...Nore, are you listening?" Seventeen-year-old Nore Robbins ignores her mother's dream warning; after all, she has had other visions of her mother since she died. Nore's father, Chuck, is a famous author who remarries a woman named Lisette Berge; a widow with two children named Gabe (17) and Josie (13). But Lisette has a secret about her family and their past that no one knows about. Nore begins to find some very suspicious things in her stepfamily's lovely plantation home, like the marriage certificates in the former slave quarters. But when her father leaves Nore alone with her stepfamily and all the answers, what will they do to prevent Nore from telling their secret? Can she escape? Lois Duncan makes this story very believable and suspenseful; you won't want to put it down.
Rating: Summary: A Review For Locked In Time Review: I have read a lot of books by Lois Duncan, and out of the ones that I have read this was the best one. When I first started reading it I thought it was going to be boring, but then I continued to read it and I couldn't put it down. It did get a little confusing but in the end I understood it. I was never sure what would happen between Nore and Gabe but I was shocked with what did happen. I was surprised with the ending when... well if you want to now what happens your going to have to read it for yourself.
Rating: Summary: Great Book for Teens Review: Locked in Time is a very good book. It leaves you in suspense so you want to keep reading. This book never gets boring. If you want a book with a lot of suspense read this book. When Nore discovers a secret about her new stepmother and family, Nore finds she and her father may be in trouble. Nore has to find someone to help her and her father when he wouldn't believe her. Nore couldn't go to anyone else for help and she feels alone. Then she met Dave who helped her get more information about the family secret. Read this book to find out what happens.
Rating: Summary: Duncan can do better than this Review: I liked this book well enough. I am a Lois Duncan fan. But I think that this book is just so unoriginal. I don't know if anyone else said this, but this book reminds me a lot of Tuck Everlasting. And the book also had similarities to Down A Dark Hall, by Lois Duncan. Aside from that, I found the book suspenseful and enjoyable. But Duncan has written better.
Rating: Summary: her best work ever Review: This has to be Dunca's best yet. Though it starts off a bit slow, the story grips you from the beginning, almost, and holds on to the end, which turns out to be quite a supprise, and maybe room for a sequal? After reading Killing Mr Griffin(obvious reasons) I have read several of Duncan's novels, this one tops the list. It was a bit strange to have finished the novel one day before the aniversary of the tragic carnival tent fire, you will see why when you read it.
Rating: Summary: best book Review: Although this was not my favorite Lois Duncan book.it was still great. Lois Duncan is one of very few authers who writes her books not assuming that children or young adults are stupid. I have read every single one of her books and i hope y'all will do the same!
Rating: Summary: Great Story Review: Did Gabe and Lisette die at the end? Email me if u know: tigger26328@aol.com PLease!
