Review: Locked In Time
The book I read was Locked In Time by: Lois Duncan. This book is a fiction mystery type of book. This book is not like a scary mystery it is more like just a mystery occurring within a family. This young girl Nore has just found out her dad remarried and she now has a new stepfamily. Nore attends a school in Boston while her dad the famous author Charles Robin is living in Shadowgrove. She was very shocked when she found out she had a new stepfamily because her mother died a few years ago. When she first sees her new stepmother, Lissete she finds that she looks very young for her age, as well as the rest of the family, her step brother Gabe who is supposedly 17, and her stepsister Josie who is supposedly 13. Nore's first reaction of the whole family is they are very nice, too nice in fact, but is pleased with her father's choice. But that all changes when Gabe, asks if she would run away with him, and when she disapproves of this he tries to drown her in the lake. Nore very upset with this does some investigating, finding out that her stepmother has been married more than once. When she finds a key that unlocks the slave quarters she finds out the whole truth and background to her new family.
I think this book was entertaining and always left a cliffhanger to the end of each chapter making you want to finish the book in one day. I agree with Nore wanting to investigate and be suspicious of her new family, but some things in the book were a little far fetched, like she was just writing it to make the book longer. I have read many of Lois Duncan's books and have found them all to be written in the same style but have a very different or new story plot that not a lot of authors use. I think this book was a great mystery book unlike others always making the story scary.

Summary: A Captivating Mystery
Review: For the summer Nore is going to stay with her father and his new family at Shadow Grove, a Louisiana plantation that's owned by Lisette, Nore's new stepmother. As soon as Nore arrives she is amazed by the picture-perfectness of the plantation. Everything there is so beautiful and looks like time had decided to stand still. Her new stepsiblings, cute Gabe and outspoken Josie, become her friends, or at least are somewhat friendly. Nore's new stepmother, Listette, is the most incredible of all. She's breathtakingly beautiful, smart, and . . . evil? Despite the fact that she welcomes Nore into her home and family with open arms there's something about her that is strange. She seems to have a way to talk with her kids that doesn't involve words.

Lisette isn't the only one at Shadow Grove who seems to have something she's hiding. Josie, though equipped with the standered teenager attitude acts like she's an older person and she mentions things that she was at . . . the only problem is that the things she mentions happened a long time before she was even born. Gabe acts recklessly like death could never come to him and what's wrong with Nore's dad? He's entranced by Lisette and doesn't even seem to notice the weird things that are going on.

What is this strange family hiding and why is Nore's presence at Shadow Grove a threat to that secret? And most importently, will Nore be able to find out the secret before it's too late?

As soon as I read the first page of this marvelous book I was hooked. The language, description, and mystery are enough to satisfy any reader. Lois Duncan has carefully crafted a book with a plot so incredible that you can't bare to tear your eyes from the page. I recommed this book to anyone who enjoys a thrilling mystery.

Review: I gave this book 4 stars because the book was so great, you felt like you were right in the book, This book never jumped around and the narrator stayed the same the whole time, and wasn't hard to follow. This book is about a 17 year old girl named Nore, whose mother died last year. That trajedy changed Nores life forever. Over the Summer Nore, had to visit her dad and his new family. However the new family, is not what Nore expected. The family struggles to get everyone to like each other. Nores father is a famous book writer, and the the step mom stays home. Nore and her new step family struggles, but Nore catches on. Nore found out very interresting information what her step family are trying to do to her and her father. Nore tried to tell her father about what her step family was trying to do to her, but no one was on Nores side, beside Dave. Nore had to get her father to believe her. Later on another huge trajedy happened, that changed Nores life forever.

Summary: Locked In Time
Review: This was the best Lois Duncan book i have ever read. I THough Down A Dark was my favorite, but Locked In Time had obviously change my mind.
It's about when a girl named Nore and her stepfather move in with their new stepfamily. But a family is not what is on their mind. Could Nore be safe with her "family" if her father goes away for a few days? I don't think so!
I would definatly recommend this book to anyone!

Summary: Do you trust your stepmom?
Review: If you like a book with suspense and want a book that you just can't put down this is a book for you. Locked in Time is about girl named Nore, her parents are divorced and her mom died so she has to move in with her dad and his new wife and two kids. The reason I gave this book only four stars was because you kind of can figure out what's going on and it kind of ruins the book because you know the main reason of the book. The book is still a good book and I highly recommend it.

Summary: Intriguing!
Review: This book was not at all what I expected! It's plot was so intriguing, I just coudn't put it down! Nore, 17, goes to live with her new stepmother and father in Louisiana, and notices several clues that lead her to the fact that her new step-family is in fact, "locked in time," meaning that although they are not immortal, they have eternal youth. Nore is busy trying to convince her father of this, in fear of her and her father's life! This novel was great; easy-reading, and exciting!
