Rating: Summary: Locked in Time Review: I really enjoyed reading the novel, Locked in Time, by Lois Duncan. She has great ideas and uses details in her writing, which makes you feel like you're actually in the story. I give this book a 9.5, with 10 being the highest. I enjoyed the novel, but it isn't a favorite of mine. Lois would describe what Lisette, one of the characters, looked like, instead of saying "she was pretty." Showing, not telling, helped me visualize what was going on and helped keep me interested in the book. The storyline was about a girl who goes to live with her dad and step family down in Louisiana. She finds out her step family has a very big secret they'd been hiding for a long time. When she found out, they were going to try to get rid of her. This was a very interesting novel with a strange, but exciting, storyline. If you like suspense and entertainment, I think you'll like this book.
Rating: Summary: Incredible book! A must read! Review: I had to read this book as a noel study for school in gr. 7. I couldnt believe how good this book is! It's the kinda book u start to read and never wanna put down(i didnt always have that option) I couldnt believe how the clues built up. The first clue was how she saw death in Lisette's eyes. Imagine seeing death in ur own stepmothers eyes! Then she had the dream about her mother telling her she was in danger. What i don't understand is why Nore ignores her gut feelings. Then she has this incredible awareness of time. And at dinner that first night Nore's stepsister Josie starts talking about a fire that happened 50 years ago. Then Lisette didn't want Gabe coming with nore and Josie to town. They live in a totally isolated place where u can't get help easily. They don't have a phone and Lisette doesnt want one. And how Lisette didnt want Gabe taking Nore and Josie to the 'Teen Dance Machine' and how Nore overhears Josie and Lisette's conversation about how Nore was a danger because of her 'uncanny awareness of time' and how she didnt want a romance to happen between Gabe and Nore because she was afraid Gabe might tell Nore about a deal Lisette had made. That day when Dave came to Shadow Grove to see Nore and Josie thought he was there to see her when he left she threw a tantrum about how ugly she was and how she was going to be 13 forever and time wasnt going on. And how Gabe's ex gf Felicite was dead and they had been going out for 'a long time' and then Lisette told Nore to go fishing with Gabe. Nore had also mentioned earlier that she couldnt swim which was a major clue! Gabe tells her she doesnt have to come if the water made her feel uneasy. Then Gabe asked her to go away with him. To california or something. He was trying to protect Nore because Lisette wanted her dead and Gabe likes her. He also tells Nore that he ran away with Felicite and they were going out for 8 years even though Gabe is only 17. Gabe tells her they went out when he was 17 when Nore asks how they started going out at 9. Nore doesnt understand what he's talking about and thats all im gonna say about the book! If you havent read it it's a MUST read! it's so suspenseful and they build up clues and suspense throughout the chapters. It's the best book of read!!

Rating: Summary: Locked In Time Review: Can you imagine never growing older? Being stuck at the age you are right now for all eternity? If you were Lisette, Gabe or Josie in the novel "Locked In Time", by Lois Duncan, you'd know what it feels like to be the same age for over 100 years. Decades pass, new invention develop, those around you die, but you keep living on... When Nore Robbins goes to live with her dad, who recently remarried Lisette, she begins to sense something about her step-mother and her two kids. Through overhearing mysterious comments and piecing clues together, Nore begins to realize that her new step-family, by some strange occurence, never ages and never will because they are locked in time. The best part about this book is that it has it all (except comedy)... drama, murder, romance, mystery, suspense, science fiction and plenty of real life aspects. Having been written in first person main character, the book gives the reader an inside view on the story. You're right there with Nore as she's hearing the odd fragment of inforamtion and it's almost as if you are helping her piece clues together. The major lesson/moral that was clearest to me from "Locked In Time" was that some secrets just aren't meant to be kept behind closed doors forever. They're bound to be let out in the open sometime, especially if you try to hard to conceal them. Although the book isn't adult-themed, the plot and subtle clues about the ending throughout the book would make it difficult for anyone under 11 to understand and enjoy.
Rating: Summary: Patricia Torres review for Locked In Time Review: This book is a great example of a book that will keep you reading for hours without stopping because everything it is connected and there is always something you will want to be curious about. Also "Locked in Time",in my opinion,is a book for teenagers because they can relate to it alot by what Nore, the main character in the story, and her step-mom's 13 year-old daughter,Josie, do and what they go through. Although the book is somehow on the fantasy side, it still shows its realistic side by telling how Nore feels about her new family with her step-mom.
Rating: Summary: Locked in Time Review: "Nore are you listening? You must leave immediatley!" That is what Nore's dead mother said to her in one of her dreams. Nore's father is getting remarried to lisette, a beautifulwomen,in her father's words. During the summer Nore goes to Shadow Grove whereher father, stepmother, stepbrother, Gabe, and stepsister, Josie. They all seem nice, but Nore feels so uneasy around them. Then, one day Nore finds an unusual but, familiar picture in Gabe's bureau. Now she knows something fishy is going on. While reading this suspenseful book, I didn't want to put it down. The plot moved quickly and easily. I would recommend it to anyone who likes thriller/mystery books. If you like books by Lois Duncan, such as The Third Eye, The Twisted Window,or Killing Mr. Griffin, you will like this book. Killing Mr. Griffin was one of my favorite books by Lois Duncan. I hope she writes more great books in the future.

But, when her stepsister, Josie, starts saying stuff like, things that took place 40 years ago, and that she was there, Nore begins to suspect that there is something weird with her new family. Then she dreams her mom telling her to leave that home with her dad as soon as possible.Nore thinks she is just thinking dumb things about Lisette, her stepmom, Josie, and Gabe, her stepbrother. But, maybe she should of listen to her mom.

Rating: Summary: Locked In Time Review: Every teenager's first impression of their father's or mother's new marriage is that they will not like the new family at all, but isn't it awful when someone you think you can love and trust tries to kill you? That is exactly what happens to Nore Robbins in the book Locked in Time, by Lois Duncan. In my opinion, Locked in Time is a good book with a lot of mystery. Nore's dad is a widower who marries a widow named Lisette Berge, who has a son named Gabe and a daughter named Josie. The Berge seem like a pretty nice step-family to Nore and her father, but what Nore doesn't understand about her new stepmom is why she is so over-protective about privacy. The mystery doesn't begin there; it starts when Gabe tries to get Nore to run away with him, and when he tries to kill her on a boat ride. What is Gabe trying to hide from Nore? Another thing is when Josie takes money from her mother to give to Nore so she can go buy a plane ticket so Nore can get away from her step-family. One thing that will go through your mind is if Nore's father is in on the Berge's plan or not, because he never seems to be around when "accidents" happen to Nore. So that is why I think this is a good book with mystery.
