Rating: Summary: The kids review Review: When I read this book I thought that the book was interesting and at the sametime a little sad. I thought it was sad because my ancestors were the one that had to suffer the hard times through the Long walk. The Soldiers were the one that had no repect for the Navajos. They were the one that would shoot any one that would stop, just because an eldery person had to stop to take a break or a Navajo lady was about to have a baby. I think if some of the Soldiers ever regret what they did to the Navajo's. Even thought they may have just rode the horses along side of the Navajo's that were walking for more then 300 miles. To different places and showing them to they people at Santa Fe. Kit Carson was a mean and hateful guy to the Navajo's that is all i have to say about the Long Walk. I hope that it never happen agian, and that the Navajo's fought for us to keep this wonderful and beautful place full of adventure.
Rating: Summary: Sing Down the Moon Review: Sing down the moon was a good writing book. It talk about how it was for the Navajo's. How we stuggle through the years. Bright Morning is a brave and caring girl. She help out whoever needed help. For example she help carry Little Rainbow baby. She took care of her baby even though she was no where to be found. She was brave when she was tooken to a place that she never been before and when she was a servent for a awhile. The only mistakes that are in this book is that when the Long walk took place when there were no spainard that were in the area. They were in the area around the 1500 and 1600s. So the long walk took place during the middle of the 1800s. There is no way that they should be any spainard in the area that the Long Walk took place. I am saying this because me as a Navajo is hard to see or read about the long walk and how some people take thegood things from all that really happen. For example it didn't talk about the Navajo's were treated in the way down to Ft. Sumner, They Soldiers that would walk along the Navajo's never waited for a elderly who had stop, or a navajo lady that was about t have her baby. If they stopped they would just shoot them and leave them there to rot. Also some of the girls would have to sell their bodies just to get small amount of cornmeal. that is when they running out of food. I can't really say anything else because it hurts so bad just to read and talk about it. But it is really a good book and i hope that everyone will get a chance to read this book and actually learn about the History of the Navajo's.
