Rating: Summary: Human or Werewolf? Review: This story is of Vivian, a werewolf who currently lives in a house with her Uncle Rudy and mother, Esme. They and their pack currently live in West Virginia after being burned out of their last home. So now leaderless they try to get a leader and find a new place to live. Sounds simple enough, right? Wrong. Vivian ends up falling for a human which is not okay with her mother or the Five (her age mates), especially Rafe who has had his eye on her. Things get even more complicated when murders happen... by a werewolf. And Vivien starts to believe she's the guilty one. Chaos insues and Vivien finds that she doesn't fit in either of her worlds anymore but something's got to change. And will the one who has to help her be the last person she'd have thought of?I only gave this 4 stars because I wasn't entirely happy with the ending but it was okay. Other than that, the story was enjoying. A teenager you could relate to as she struggled to fit in and control herself (in more ways than one), a mother who refused to act her age, antics from various characters, and so on. Insinuating comments, gestures, and other actions make this book suitable for older teens. Probably for 14 years and up.
Rating: Summary: Supernatural Romance Review: At sixteen-years-old, Vivian Gandillon feels that her life is perfect. Sure, she doesn't really fit in at school, she has no real social life, except for that with the Five; her father is dead, and her mother acts like a teenager. But she is beautiful, both in her human skin, and when she morphs into a werewolf. Sadly, her pack is still leaderless, and they have just settled in Maryland, where Vivian now longs for a normal life, but how can someone who turns into a werewolf be normal? Then Vivian meets Aiden. A meat-boy, who loves her, and is kind and gentle. He's everything that Vivian has been looking for, but when she decides that it's time to show Aiden who/what she really is, she gets an unexpected surprise. Now Vivian feels divided in two. She has loyalties to her pack, but she also has loyalties to her human life, and to Aiden. As someone who has read very few books about werewolves, I was very skeptical about reading BLOOD AND CHOCOLATE. But I could not be happier with my decision. Annette Curtis Klause is to teens, what Anne Rice is to adults. Her novel is character-driven, and action packed, and seems so much more adult than other young adult novels. Vivian is a fascinating character, who is beautiful, strong, powerful, artistic, etc. Her transformations from human to werewolf and back are a thrill ride both for Vivian and the reader. The Five are funny characters, if not a little dangerous, and wild. And Aiden is a wonderful character, who is kind and gentle, and will win the hearts of all female readers. A must-have book for all fans of the paranormal. Erika Sorocco
Rating: Summary: Blood and Chocolate, The Blood and Guts of the Book Review: Blood and Chocolate, written by Annette Curtis Klause, is a thrilling new spin on fantasy. Vivian had just lost her father and her pack was falling away from each other. When Gabriel came on the scene in the beginning of the book, I couldn't help but be annoyed by him and his attitude towards others. When he began to show a more compassionate and intelligent side, I began to fall in love with him. Though I hoped that Vivian and Gabriel would get together, I could not help but adore Aiden, Vivian's human boyfriend. But it is forbidden to take a human lover; they are not biologically compatible to werewolves. Esme, Vivian's' mom, hated her daughter dating a human. "Don't date if you can't mate." Esme said. Pg. 40 'Nature will always win' seems to be the theme of the book. The nature of the werewolf, the nature of humans, and the nature of high school all come into play. The use of high school life and the life of a werewolf mixed together was ingenious. I liked how Klause used that werewolf aspect to show the troubles of being in high school and the struggles one has to go through when they are different. I know what it is like to be different, and though I relish my individuality I know others suffer from being excluded and looked down upon. But to be different in a way that if someone knew what you were everyone would want to kill you is so much harder. This was such an astounding and "realistic like" book, that I just could not put down. The writing is so descriptive that you feel that you are there, and looking in on what is happening. Anyone who enjoys fantasy and love stories will enjoy this book immensely.
Rating: Summary: Double Life! Review: A Review by Nikki Vivian who is a fifteen year old werewolf falls in love with Aiden a human. She and her pack attend school, go to work, and mingle with; but the humans are not aware of the pack's double life. Vivian is struggling because she wants to reveal her true identity to Aiden. If she did, this would be a threat to the pack. People are getting brutally murdered and no one knows who is committing the murders, not even the pack. Will Vivian tell Aiden she is a werewolf and will the pack survive? I like how the author put a lot of detail into her descriptions, such as when the characters transform into werewolves. But in some instances I felt there was too much detail. For example, "He tasted her thoroughly, his tongue caressing her..." I didn't know someone could put so much detail in a kiss. Even though this book is fictional, the author made it seem real and brought the characters to life. The dialogue between the main character, Vivian, and the reader was unique because you were able to know her thoughts as well as what Vivian said. I would recommend this book to readers who enjoy mysteries and adventure. It captures your attention and makes you want to continue reading.
Rating: Summary: Excellent book, a must read! Review: This was a very inspiring book by Annette Curtis Klause. The main character Vivian is a werewolf who just wants to be excepted. She meets a guy named Aiden and they like each other a lot. She finds it very hard to keep this secret locked up inside of her. She longs to tell him but knows that she cannot for that would expose and destroy her pack. Her problems with her mother and the rest of the pack grow as she keeps on dating him because they think it's not right for werewolves to be with a human. This story keeps going on about her problems afterwards it had me guessing the whole time and made me want to keep reading more and more until I found out what had happened.
Rating: Summary: GOOD in its own way... Review: i read this a while ago but i can remember most of it......and i remember it was really good, in its own way, it kind of sucks u in from page one, even if ur not into wherewolves and that kinda thing the romance is worth it....i have a friend who is dyselexic (spelling?) and she hates to read , because it's so difficult for her, but she couldn't put this book down. It's worth the read.
Rating: Summary: A Must Read book Review: This book is a wonderful and inspiring book by Annette Curtis Klause.Being different is hard when you have to keep a secret. Vivian is a werewolf trying to grow up and go to school in a human society. She is ridiculed for going to school by her fellow werewolves,"the pack". She falls in love with a human boy, Aiden. She is drawn to him by a poem he has written in the school newspaper about werewolves. Also If you enjoyed this book, I recommend The Silver Kiss, By Annette Curtis Klause.
Rating: Summary: boom shocaloca its blood and chocolate Review: ...blood and Chocolate is a tip of story. It falls under many categories like drama adventure mystery And romance. The story blood and chocolate is about humans with powers and through the story they go through challenges dealing with trust love and honor. The best strengths in this book are the way the characters show their emotions. The weaknesses about the book is how they tell the story like one minute their here and the next page they're some where else it gets a little confusing. I think the author rites good books you can tell he really loves to write and he shows his emotions good he is a good writer. I would recommend this book to someone who likes weird things and loves adventure because this book has a lot of it. The only reason I would not recommend this book is because it is a little scary and it is confusing.
