Summary: An Awesome Book!!!!!! Girl Power^_^!
Review: This book is so good! It's the first in the LQ Series. Alana knows she can't be a lady and go to convent so she switches places with her brother. She dresses like a boy and trains to be a knight. She makes lots of friends...and enemies. In this series Alanna AKA Alan struggles to go through everything and keep her secret safe. Once you start the book you can't put it down!

Summary: THE BEST BOOK I EVER READ
Review: Alana of Trebond wants to become a knight but she faces a problem-shes a girl. So she disguises herself as a boy and begins training at King Roald's palace. She quickly becomes friends with the King of Thieves and Prince Jonathan. You will find this an interesting combination. It's an overall great book. This book leaves you in suspense so that you will want to read the rest of the series (quartet). However I believe it's the best one of the quartet.

Summary: The first of a fantastic series!
Review: Tamora Pierce is an excellent writer, and this is the very first book in one of my all time favorite series. The series is aimed towards a younger audience, but Pierce has a delightful writing style that will capture older reader's hearts equally swiftly. Her characters are admirable and realistic, and her particular take on the world of fantasy is lovely. This particular book is about a young girl who dreams of becoming a knight, and in due course decides to follow her dreams and disguises herself as a boy to get the necessary training. The story is suspenseful and will leave the reader rushing out to purchase the next book in the series!! Enjoy!

Summary: A New Edition of a Wonderful Tale
Review: This new edition of the Song of the Lioness Quartet is wonderful. The books are beautiful, an improvement on the last printing. The story itself is one that any girl (and some boys!) will fall in love with.

Alanna, the twin daughter of a medieval lord, has the dream of becoming a lady knight. As she stubbornly sets off to become the first female to win a shield in 200 years, she will charm readers with her elegance, her temper, and her magical gift. Alanna's series is about the making of a hero, or a heroine, and this book offers some lessons as well as enjoyment, and emphasizes the value of determination.

A great read for anyone from elementary school to high school, although I have known some adults who enjoyed it as well.

Summary: The best book I've ever read
Review: Tamora Pierce is my favorite author and she started it all with this book. Alanna the first advebture is the ultimate fantasy book: magic, adventure, fighting, mystery, and a heroine who is just an every day girl. The series goes on to include romance, too. If you like Harry Potter, Lord of the Rings, or Sherwood Smith, you'll adore these books.

Summary: My Favorite Book
Review: Alanna is one of my favorite books. It proves that girls can do things as well as and sometimes better than boys. IT keeps you interested and many of Tamora's other series build off this one.

Summary: Awesome book
Review: This series is my favorite series and books. The way Tampora Pierce wrote these books really makes me want to be there. In the book, its really clever how she disguises herself and I was intrigued with ALL the characters from the very beginning especially with the handsome Prince Johnathan and the quick witted sneaky thief George. This book was really amazing.

Summary: great, quick read
Review: I finished this book in a day. Although it sometimes feels a bit rushed and sketchy, the pace is, for the most part, really nice. Alanna is a really interesting character, and I enjoyed finding out how she was going to manage to get through her years of training to be a knight without letting anyone find out she was really a girl. It sometimes felt that the people around Alanna weren't very well developed (I especially wanted to know more about her friends), but Alanna herself was usually enough fun to read about that that didn't really matter. I'm looking forward to reading the next book and wish I had just ordered them all and saved myself the trouble.
