Summary: This book sets the stage for th Song of the Lioness Quartet
Review: I must admit, I have read the quartet several times and I find it simply intrigueing. This book begins the tale about a girl fighting to become a knight, trying to keep her gender a secret, AND discovering her womanhood. Romance, magic, and determination...it's got it all.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Great fun!
Review: I'm 19 and I still love to read this one - Alanna is a plucky, determined heroine and it's so satisfying to see her achieve her goals. I can't wait to get my new copy (to replace the one I destroyed from reading it so many times)!

Summary: Tamora Pierce is a must read for all ages!
Review: Both quartets written by Tamora Pierce are wonderfully written, exciting adventures for all ages. I first discovered these when my then 11 year old nephew had read Alanna and was trying to find the rest of the series in the library (at that time, the books were out of print). Fortunately, that problem has been rectified. Since that time, my husband and I have read them all (we're in our 40's), both of my daughters (ages 9 and 11), both of my nephews (age 13), and nieces (ages 10 and 11) - in short, these are exceptional books with a wide appeal. We are anxiously awaiting the publication of the next quartet.

Summary: Wonderful!!!!!!!!!!!!
Review: this book, b4 i had even read it, caught my eye. Like a very expensive object that deems to be to your fancy but you dont want to pick it up else you might break it. One day i picked it up from the shelves and read the first paragraphs. I was hooked! Alanna's fight for her own way, in her own way, took my heart and never let go. Her struggles, triumphs and all the in between, told this tale as if it was a real place, time, and this was historical writing of what was. I simply fell in love with this book and will never fall out. Read this book, or you will be missing alot of great stuff.

Summary: Awsome, One of the best books I ever read.
Review: Alanna of Treboond is one of the best heroines ever. She always wanted to be a Knight of Trebond but, she's a girl and girls can't be knights. Thats a big problem right? Not for Alanna luckly she has an idenical twin brother who wants to be a sorcerer but is going to the castle to be a Knight. So they change places and thats how it all begins. Read and find out how a girl disguised as a boy become a Knight of the realm.

Summary: THIS IS THE BEST BOOK EVER!!!!!!! I LOVED IT!!!!!!!!!!
Review: I love this book. Tamora Pierce writes beautifully! I have read every book in this series twice and I am reading the second book in her most recent series. As soon as I started this book I knew I was going to love it...and I did! I get completely absorbed in each book and don't put it down until I am at least halfway through! Keep up the good work Tamora and keep writing!!!!!

Summary: magnificent
Review: I have read all four of the books and was mezmorized by the story. These books are a real work of art. They have taught me that any lass can do the same thing a lad can do and even better. Alanna is the perfect example of a woman that really cares about people even if they did hurt her in the past.If there was just even one real Alanna of Trebond the world would have real hero instead of the false ones that make up in fairy tales.Even if this story is a fairy tale, it is also a book that I will read to my children no matter what gender they may be.This is a story that has love, hate, and everything else we experience in the real world in it.Tamora Pierce is a magnificent writer.I only wish I could tell that to her face. Her books will run through my mind for eternity and beyond.Tamora Pierce if you are reading this, congragulations on a job well done and thank you deeply for Alanna and all her wonderful friends. They are the only things I wish to have in my life like Alanna had in her's
