Rating: Summary: A Great Book! Review: This is a wonderful book and well written. Alanna of Trebond is an endearing character. Alanna: The First Adventure is a must read for girls. By the end of the book your in love with all the characters. Some of my favorites were George Cooper and Sir Myles. I also recommend reading the rest of the Alanna books and if you like Tamora Pierce's writing I'd also recommend The Immortals Series.
Rating: Summary: I loved it Review: I loved this book.It was wonderful learning how Alanna spent her time in the palace learning how to become a knight. I love any fantasy and I love the later books as well. I wish I could live a life as exciting as Alanna's but these books are almost as good as being there . I love the chracters in this book and some of my favorites are Alanna, George ,Jon , Raoel , Gary ,and Coram . I am sorry but I love them all .
Rating: Summary: so neat Review: I love fantasy books and was looking for a new one when I found this book. Alanna is so wonderful and I love the magic in this series. This has quickly become one of my favorites.I love the wonderful characters such as Alanna, Jon ,and George. I like Alanna's determination to be as good as the boys if not better. I would love to have been her. Tabbie Stewart
Rating: Summary: You will LOVE this book and this series Review: I had first found this book when iwas in sixth grade. It immediately became my favorite book of all time. I am in eleventh grade now and I still love it. Before today (when I finaly checked out amazon) i didn't know any one else had ever read this book. Alanna is a very intriguing character and her adventures, struggles, and growth as the first female warrior of her time appeal to everyone. I was drawn by the magic-that's the kind of person i am. The one friend imanaged to get interested in alanna was into her difficulties with romance. Others will appreciate her struggle to achieve her dreams in spite of everything against her. After 5 years i have only managed to get only one of my friends interested in Alanna. I hope i've convinced all you out there to GET THIS BOOK--you will enjoy it for any number of reasons, trust me.
Rating: Summary: read me: praise for alanna: the first adventure Review: dear whoever: I looooove this book! It's the best of Tamora Pierce, so far as I've read:-). It is enthralling, believable, and VERY adictive! Faithful (the cat? get it?) reader, p.s. Like strong, medieval women? Read "A Proud Taste for Scarlet and Miniver" by E.L. Konigsberg p.p.s.
Rating: Summary: Definitely cool material. The best. Blissfull ! Love it! Review: This is definitely cool. I begged my Papa Mario, who lives in the US, to get the rest of the quartet because I was on fire to read the rest. Thrilling with a concotion of both mystery, romance, magic- all my favorite ingredients. Alanna emerges as triumphant as ever, strong and willfull- and yes, quite stubborn. Not boring at all!! A must read! Perfect. Marvelous. Thank you Amazon Books! I wouldn't have read the rest without you.
Rating: Summary: Deborah and Jenny give it four thumbs up! Review: When my sister first got this book and told me that I had to read it, I was a little hesitant because it looked like one of those tacky knight books. But the minute I read the first chapter, I was hooked! How Tamora Piece could've thought this up is a mystery to me!
Rating: Summary: alanna is awesome Review: We are two girls(I'm 12, she's 13) and Song of the lioness has litterrally affected what wer'e doing now:writing antother book about the adventures of 3 other medieval girls. I'ts also affected our intrests, priorities, and general outlook on life. We read alanna in fourth grade and we were so inspired that we eventually became full-fledged lovers of the medieval period. I think all the imagining wer've done off of it has literally kept us from falling into the typical teenage blues. So thanks, mrs. Pierce for all the good youve' done and whatever you do-DO NOT STOP WRITING! I've already read Sandry's book in "The Magic Circle" and it is awesome. So now, we epic poem writers and Arthurian family-tree makers shall bid thy goodbye and invite you to E-mail us on Alanna or any other related topic.
Rating: Summary: LOVE IT! Review: A few days ago I picked up the second book first and thought it sounded interesting. Then by accident I found the first book and bought it too! I'm still halfway thru the first, but I love it! I think that if I lived in the times of knights I would be like Alanna, for I couldn't stand to be a "proper lady" either. It is a wonderful book and I can't wait to get the 3rd and 4th ones and read them! And I'm an 18 year old college student! :-)
Rating: Summary: Alanna is a excellent book Review: Alanna is a great book. The part where Alanna heals Jonathan is extreamly powerful, as is the battle with the Ysandir. I am a 12 year old reader who basicly found this book by acident. I was watching a libraran put books back on the shelf and the cover caught my eye. That was two months ago and I have been checking it out ever since, and probaly will untill I buy it.
