Summary: Wow!! If you havn't read this book, you MUST!!
Review: Wow! What can I say about such a great book?

Tamora Piece did an amazing job creating the character Alana. Alana is a great book, combining adventure, trama, fun, and some affection between characters, which you could consider childish romance, that is extremely appealling and charming. Though the age says 9 - 12. I know for a fact that readers of ages from way older that that will love this book!

Alana, disgused as a boy, goes to learn to become a knight. Being a girl she must be strong enough to cover up the truth. She gets picked on an older boy, who is full of himself, but she stays strong and with the assurance of her many friends is able to handle him.

She makes her way through friendships and somehow learns more about the person she really is.
I truly congratulate and thank Tamora Pierce for this great book she has written. If you like this book be sure to read the rest in the series and the Immortals series!

Summary: *dreamy sigh*
Review: Finally, a female knight! I loved how this book was so unique in it's style. So far it is the only book I have found that stars a female as a knight. Alanna is the type of person that all girls should try to imitate, she's determined, brave, and not afraid of breaking the rules and going for her dreams. I love the plot,( I won't spoil it for you)because it is just one action after another that keeps the reader from being at all bored. I wish that more authors would write stories with the main charecter as a woman, and if they are at all as good as Ms. Pierce's, than they must be worth a long read.

Summary: THE BEST EVER, ABSOLUTE BEST!
Review: If the rates went any higher I really would pick it. Even though I'm enthusiastic about the other books I read, this one is really an amazing piece of writing!!!! You become so absorbed in Allana's life and your just captured in certain moments and it's the world's greatest. If you don't read this you are really missing out on something special.

Summary: READ THIS BOOK!!!
Review: This book is a gem. The characterizations are unique and delightful, and the world is a believable one. The book has the noteworthy virtue of a spunky, female heroine that is neither a man trap or a boy in a girl's body. She may seem tomboyish at first, but Alanna is really very feminine.

The plot, extremely well developed, is centered around the subterfuge that a female child, Alanna of Trebond, employs in order to obtain a pagehood at the palace with the goal of knighthood. Among the way she encounters many diverse obstacles, not the least of which is growing up, and learns to live with herself.

This book is completely believable and sucked me right in to it's domain. My science teacher loaned it to me, and I couldn't put it down that day (even in English class!!) This book's one failing is that it's completely impossible to put down, and you NEED the sequal!! Do yourself a favour and immerse yourself in this incredible book.
