Summary: EXCELLENT!!!!!!!!
Review: I read the series in grade school... starting with the first on being a book report. It took me about a year cause I had to wait for LIONESS RAMPANT to be returned. After reading the whole series, I HAD to own it. Took me until I was over 18 to find it in a book store, but they're home on my shelf now. Pierce and Alanna have been an inspiration to everyone whoever read the series.

Summary: This is GREAT!!!!
Review: I LOVE the Lioness Quartet. I read the whole series in two days! Alanna is great! This is a definately the best series I have ever read! Pierce's talent to make you feel like you are part of the story is wonderful! More Tortall!

Summary: Publisher? Just another Tortall and Tamora Pierce fan!
Review: I have to admit, that despite being an editor, I didn't care *who* published these books in paperback, just so long as they were available! I discovered ALANNA: THE FIRST ADVENTURE on the "New Books" shelf in the library when I was a sophomore in high school. The result? Like many readers, I instantly became a Tamora Pierce fan (and I dragged my mother and younger brother into Tortall as well!). Many years later, I became a champion--or maybe more of a belated godparent--to this amazing series, along with the newer and equally riveting Tortall series, The Immortals. This may sound sappy, but I just wanted to do everything I could to get these books into the hands of all the people who would love them. And here they are. Enjoy. (P.S. Yes, there is going to be another Tortall series...The first book is scheduled for 1999.)

Summary: INSPIRATIONAL SENSATION!
Review: I feel a bit bad that I have waited so long after reading this series and have not submitted a review. This quartet is spectaular! TAMORA PIERCE is spectacular! I remember in grade school just asking my friends what was good to read-- I hadn't heard of ALANNA until then, but now she will never be forgotten! With the weight of high school (yes, it has been that long) I have not been able to read her latest few books, but believe me and these dozens of other reviewers: once you read this first book you will be hooked on Pierce and always be in demand to read more of her work. And she is inspirational; if it weren't for her, I'd still be dragging in my own fictional writing. Thanks, Tamora.

Summary: Talk about the life of knights...
Review: This was a perfect book for me. I don't like to see people dying, but I DO enjoy hearing about it. I enjoyed this book. I even am lending the book(s) to one of my friends they are so good. We agree- the are great!

Summary: On the same great level as Mercedes Lackey! Exellent!
Review: Tamora pierce is one of my five favorite authors. I read the first Alanna book in 8th grade, and impatiently awaited the coming of teh later Immortals books. I know, by 10th grade I should be able to type and spell, but oh well. At any rate, read it! I have read a lot of books, I usually read at lease about 100 per summer. I'm not exaggerating. So go read it! It's great!

Summary: Must Read
Review: Hi I live in Sydney Australia and in year 6 I found Alanna in my school library ever scince then I have been enchanted with the series and the author's other books. Alanna's story is inspiring and exciting with just the right amount of humour and romance. So if you've allways dreamed of being a girl knight with red hair and purple eyes this is a must read.

Summary: A MUST READ
Review: I started reading these when my mom got me wild magic for my birthday then I found out there was a whole series just on Alanna. I finally got my mom to get it for me and I haven't stopped reading it since. I've only had the lioness quartet since Christmas and it looks like I've had them for ten years. I was done with the series by the 27th. I've read every book like six times!!!!!!

Summary: WOW
Review: This is *the best* book I have ever read! It started when I found "Alanna: The First Adventure" in my town's library. It looked like a story with a medeval setting, possibly fantasy, so I borrowed it. That night, I picked it up and read it all. I loved that book so much that I'm going to buy the whole series!
