Summary: The Story of a Girl in a world surrounded by magic.
Review: This is the best book! I've read it a million times and I never get tired of it. It is a really exciting book and Tamora Pierce has become my favorite author. I recommend this to anyone who likes fantasy and adventure. I think Alanna is a really interesting character and someone I'd really want to be friends with. She isn't boring because she is not very predictable. I think that Alanna is always so down to earth, unlike other female heroines and seems like a real person you would meet on the street. I like how Tamora Pierce has also involved magic in the story because it makes the story really interesting. I recommend reading this and all the other stories by Tamora Pierce.

Summary: great
Review: Alanna is my all time favorite! I love to read, and have read a lot, and nothing tops Alanna. Some other books that you'll like are Ella Enchanted by gail carson levine, and on fournune's wheel by Cynthia Voight. There are no books that beat Alanna though.

Summary: This is the best book!
Review: You have simply got to read this book! I have read it at least three times and I find lots of new things I hadn't realized before each time I read it. It is really exciting. It is neat to see a girl dress up as a guy. I liked how Ms. Pierce told readers about Alanna's feelings. This book was so good that I finished the quartet and have read other books by her since. They were all just as good.If you like fantasy and adventure this is the book for you!

Summary: How can I say how brilliant it is in 1 line?
Review: This book has been a favourite of mine for almost 5 years (which is a third of my life!). I find it to be touching and absolutely wonderful. I have lent the series to at least 6 people now and not one of them has been able to stop reading until they finished not only it but the other 3 books about Alanna and 4 about Daine. And that I think says it all. I really would recommend this book to anyone without hesitation and I would like to thank Tamora Pierce for them.

Summary: This book was the highlight of my childhood readings!
Review: I started reading the series when I was in the eighth grade and I wish I started sooner. This peticular book is one of my favorite. I opens up a world of adventure, love, and; in my case, soul searching. It helped me see what was in myself and by doing so, made me a stronger person. My sincer thanks to Tamora Pierce!

Summary: The Best Book Ever!!!!!
Review: I LOVE Tamora's books. I have the Lioness series and the Immortal series. When I read the book, its like stepping into a candy store and you don't know what to you'll get. I also like the book, because it proves that women aren't useless obejects and that we can do anything better or the same as men! Women Rule and so do these books!

Summary: The best book I've ever read!!! It deserves way more stars!
Review: OK, I know it says that this book is for people ages 9 to 12 but I think that it's great for peolple of any age. I just wanted to establish that. This book is definitely one of my ultimate favorites. I can't say that about many books but with this one there's no question, I absolutely loved it! Its a great opener to this superb series. It really sucks you in. Alanna is someone people can really look up to and admire. The fact that she makes mistakes, and isn't perfect is really appealing. I could go on and on about the things I liked in this book so I may as well stop now. I just want to say this, If you haven't read this book, you're missing out on a lot. It's a must read.

Summary: Expected much more entertainment
Review: Just as stated above, this piece of "literature" is an unfulfilling and truely dissapointing bookk. I personally prefer other fantasy writers like SHERWOOD SMITH, especially CROWN DUEL and COURT DUEL. Alanna is for child-like readers with little imagination, COURT DUEL is deeper, more mature, and suberbly compelling...oh yeah...the romance factors are much higher.

Summary: This book deserves all 5 stars! It is an amazing adventure!
Review: I loved this book cover to cover ( and the rest in it's series!) I started it after I had finish the "Wild Magic" series - which was also grand- and just thought that others should know how superb this book and the rest are. I highly recomend it to anyone who loves good fantasy and adventure!

Summary: Great Book!!!!
Review: Alanna is a strong character. She knows what she wants and is willing to do ANYTHING to get it. The book has very believeable characters and real situations. Regaurdless of the "fanasaty" catagory the whole story seems to come to life.
