Review: i absolutely loooove this series. i have read all of tamora peirce's books all were the best i have ever read. i at first was not interested in the series then my best friend gave me "homework" which was to read the book. i thought it was spectacular and continued to read the rest of Tamora peirce's books. all are the best i have ever read in my entire life....so far. keep writing Tamora! u are the best! i hope others read her as well because this book and series are the best i've seen in years.i have read it a lot and will continue to read her stories till i die. i love her personality and spirit the most. and her companions. there is always humor in these and i love this series.

Summary: An AMAZING book
Review: Durring the summer I do a lot of reading. But no matter how many books i read, this one is still one of my favorites. The other books in the Quartet are just as good. Tamora Pierce combined all my favorite elments of a book, magic, mystery, adventure, and an awesome heroine. I'd recomend this book to anyone. I'm sure you will enjoy it.

Review: I read the Alanna series first when I was in the 4th grade, and every year since then. Getting this series for your children is probably the best gift you could give them-it inspired me to read and triggered my interest in both history and literature. I am forever grateful to Tamora Pierce for writing a Quartet that I still enjoy after 10 years.

Review: I fell in love with Alanna right away. The whole while you'rereading you find yourself in another world. Pierce has written anunbelievable novel with adventure, love, and excitement. Once you read the first Alanna book you have to read the rest! If you buy this book I find it hard to believe that you won't love it!

Review: This such a great book! Normally all the mighty warriors and hero people are guys, but Ms. Pierce has created a wonderful heroine that isn't a stay-at-home sissy! I think Alanna is the character all girls should take notes on.

This 1 is one of the best i have ever read! i have read all of tamora's books up to the 2nd protector of the small book! if u have not read this book then you have not read a thing! Tamora is the best writer and i wish i could meet her! LET ME TELL U SOMETHING,i waited so long to get these books that when i got them for cristmass i junped up and down screaming! then not using any of my other preasants i started reading them from the 1st to the last of them.(even though i had read them 5 times already) all my friends have read these books and Hopefully so will youAT LEAST GIVE THEM A TRY! ANOTHER GOOD AUTHER IS PHILIP PULLMAN
