Summary: An enthralling and exciting book!
Review: This book (the first in its series) was the one that caught my attention and inspired me to read every book Tamora Pierce has written. Beyond the author's vivid descriptions and beautiful use of words, there is a hidden meaning: Girls can do anything boys can. Its a great read!

Summary: Alanna---the Red-Headed Rebel
Review: In this book, Alanna goes to a school where you learn how to fight, because she wants to become a female warrior. It's a good story, but it got confusing: at some parts in the story, I couldn't tell who was supposed to be talking. And various characters keep going on about how dangerous her secret of being a girl at a boy's school will become, because of how her female body will grow. And that got boring. But all in all, it was a pretty great book.

Summary: My Favorite
Review: Okay, I have lost count of the number of times I have read this book. Tamora Pierce is my favorite author. I have read all the Song of the Lioness, Immortals, and Circle of Magic books at least three times. I am dying to get my hands of the Protector of the Small and Circle Opens books. Even now, when I have read Alanna over and over again, I can't put it down. It is a timeless classic.

Summary: What's not to love about this book?
Review: The way I found this series was I did a search in the library when I was nine years old on my own name. This book came up, so I checked it out, read it, and fell in love with it. That was about nine years ago. Since then, I have read every book by Tamora Pierce I could get my hands on (sad as it seems, and high-schooler reading pre-teen books...its a refreshing break)Pierce is a fabulous writer. I reccommend reading all her books, no matter what age. The books are impossible to put down.

Summary: Excellent
Review: This book is for every girl who has been told that she can't do something. Set in a medieval world, where magic is real and girls can't be knights. Instead, noble girls get sent off to a school and learn to be ladies. But Alanna--a girl whose spirit is as fiery as her hair--doesn't want to be a lady. Her dream is to be a knight, and she's decided that's what she is going to be. Dressing as a boy, she manages to be accepted as a page at the royal castle. Her road to glory is paved with hardship, however. She has to deal with hard training, a bully, and her changing body. Alanna is a strong heroine, and her courage and determination are inspirational. A great story for girls of all ages, it proves that you can be whatever you desire.

Summary: Tamora Pierce is SOOOOOO good!
Review: I have read this book and all the other books at least five times, and I am hooked. I am also extremly angry that there is only four. This must be one of the best books for kids of all time. I wish I could give it more than five stars, it deserves it! Anyone who hasn't read this doesn't know what they are missing. I usually don't find many books that I like, but this is not one of them. READ THIS BOOK, you won't regret it! :)

Summary: Read this entry, you won't be sorry!
Review: This is an excellent book for those who have a adventurous mind. I have just bought this book several days ago and within a couple of hours, I had finished this book. Now, I have finished reading this book 3 times. If you are a person who likes adventures, and magic, then this is the book for you.

This is about a girl named Alanna and she is twins with her brother Thom. Alanna doesn't want to be taught how to be a lady but to become the famous maiden-warrior and do great deeds for people, and Thom doesn't want to be a knight and get hurt but instead he wants to be a sorcerer and walk with the gods. So they decided to switch places. She dresses as a boy and goes to the palace.

At the beginning, she is bullied by a boy named Ralon and he is from Malven. But she showed him at the end. Later, she learns and becomes the best of the other pages in archery, swordfighting, fencing, horseback, and not to mention she is also a good student. She also saved her good friend Jonathon, the heir to the throne, a couple of times in what looked like certain death from demons and from his evil cousin, Duke Roger who wants to take over the throne.

This is so far the best book I have read in a very long time. I have read almost ALL the fanasty novels by famous writers and Tamora Pierce is one of the BEST writers of all and Alanna: the First Adventure, is a great book!
