Rating: Summary: Hey, over here!Read this!(Ok,ok, so it's a little desperate) Review: Thank you. Now, to the book. You absolutly have to read this book! It totally rocks! I love the way Tamora Pierce gets the characters personalaties fit together and clash so wonderfully. Take my word for it, this book is worth TWICE your money. I've been reading chapter books since I was in Kindergarden, and I can read 130 some page books in 1 and a half hours, so I've read over 200 books in the past 6 or so years. This is one of the best books I've ever read! I say read all of Tamora Pierce's books. You can relate to the main charcaters at a lot of points in the book. Wonderful read, in short.
Rating: Summary: Terrific! Review: Wild Magic isn't just an ordinary book,it absorbs you into the pages and makes you feel like you're standing right with Daine,Onua,Numair etc. This book cptivated me from the first page on.I have taken a shine to the Immortal series.I thought the books about Alanna were good, great even, but I got a little tired of them.Maybe that's because I am an animal lover.I think Wild Magic is right up there with Watership Down,Harry Potter,TB series, and books by Jim Kjelgaard.Tamora Pierce is a wonderful writer.
Rating: Summary: Amazing book Review: I thought this story of a 13 year old girl named Daine was fasninating. In this book Daine has to overcome her past and start on her new life. I love how this book enchants the reader and how you cant put it down. I recomend this book to ages 11-15
Rating: Summary: Fantastic Fantasy Review: This is a book that many readers can enjoy. If you like a book where you can be wrapped up in it and be oblivious to the world around you, here you go.Daine, a young girl with an ability to talk to animals, joins Onua to drive a bunch of ponies to the training camp for the Riders, (a military group). They are attacked on the way by Stormwings, large, foul-smelling birds with human heads and torsos. Following this attack they are joined by Allana, and Numair (a mage). As Numair was the subject of the attack, Allana leaves him with them to recover. When they reach the training camp, Onua hires Daine to help her take care of the horses and to help with the trainees. Afterward they journey to Pirate's Swoop, the summer camp for the year. By this time Numair has begun to teach her magery, so some interesting things result out of it. When they get to Pirate's Swoop, a nasty surprise leads to Allana riding off. They are then promptly besieged by Carthak forces. If you enjoy a story for its own sake, you will enjoy this book.
Rating: Summary: Captivating Story. Review: If you like magic and adventure, you'll love this book and the rest of the series. Warning!! If you read this book, you will enjoy it so much, you'll have to buy the entire series, "Alanna series, The Immortals series and Protector of the small series--which are all part of a continuing story. Excellent author.
Rating: Summary: Tamora Pierce... how do you do it? Review: This is one of my favorite books that I have ever read. I am absolutely addicted to fantasy books and definately all of Tamora Pierce's books are the best I've ever read. You'll love taking an adventure through these pages. It's got everything that a good book needs: humor, magic, emotion, love, and hate. I hate to repeat what some other reviewers may have said, but I feel I can connect with all the characters, and I hope you can too. I bought this book just on the basis that I liked Tamora Pierce, and I was not disappointed. Daine, a young girl who lost her family not too long ago, has a special gift with animals. She can understand and talk to them. She can even make them do things for her, though she prefers to ask. She made a home with wolves for awhile after the incident, and she started acting like one herself. Now, she fears to steep too deeply into her powers in case the "madness" will reoccur. On her journeys she meets many memorable characters that everyone will love: Numair Salmalin, a very powerful mage who changed his name to sound more impressive, Onya, a stubborn but likable companion, Alanna, one of the first female knights in one hundred years with violet eyes and strong powers, and others. For some unknown reason, immortals have been escaping in the human world from the gates of the Divine Realms. Dragons, Stormwings, even giant spiders have come through. Most are evil beings that can live for eternity, but some are quieter and gentler beings (well maybe not gentler). Even you aren't that into fantasy, trust me. You'll love this book. With great characters, a great plot, and great magic, this book has it all! Be careful of night reading, because you won't be able to put this book down. Trust me, I know from experience. Anyways, buy this book, or, if you don't want to pay, at least get it from the library.
Rating: Summary: Very good fantasy Review: To all Fantasy readers out there (especially Tolkien and Lloyd Alexander lovers) I highly reccomend this book. All of the characters are unforrgetable and very real! Daine, her pony (Cloud), the mysterious badger etc. are great! The absolute only promblem with it is the many-gods religion. I also love Daine's ideas on nobility. This is a good book that you can read over and over, and find things you'd missed the first time! Read it!
Rating: Summary: Unbelievable! Review: This was the first book I'd ever read that was written by Tamora Pierce. I was amazed on how crafty she was and used humor; unlike Sylvia Engdahl or Jack London did. Although I finished it in a day and had to wait a while before I could get more books, I kept on reading it over and over. This book has a GREAT plot and the following books (Wolf-Speaker was kind of a disappointment...) were great! I'm working on the Alanna and Protector of the Small series right now, along with some other novels.
Rating: Summary: Just Right! Review: Oh, my god! it is such a good series altogether, i can't say which is my favourite. unlike the song of the lioness, all the books are well balanced, not overly romantic, etc. in the song of the lioness (don't get me wrong i loved that series, it's just that 'the immortals' has something different about it, something magic...)i didn't like the 3rd book at all, it was boring, but here i dont' even know which one i like best, i really can't say. i mean have you ever heard of a sweater couple than Numair and Daine? NO. my advice out there is that any of our there that haven't read 'the immortals' or are thinking about it, stop it! Grab it and read it! you will never regret it!
Rating: Summary: Top Grade Thriller Review: When I read this book I thought, ok another Harry Potter wanna-be. But this book is amazing! I have read it six times and it still amazes me. The emotions just grab you and take you for a ride. The details are so wonderful they play a movie in your head! This book left me thinking about it for a week. Once you get started you just can't put it down. It's truly a wonderful book.
