Rating: Summary: This book is GREAT! Another wonderful book by Tamora! Review: Daine is another good charecter to add to the Tortall legacy. I also like Numair and Kit. I like the way how she put the Lioness into this book, along with George and the other people from the Lioness Quartet. This book is wonderful and everyone should read it!
Rating: Summary: A book for many ages, and REALLY GOOD. Review: It's a marvellous story, but I'm warning you, if you read this one, you will HAVE to read the whole series! It can be for many ages- from nine to seventeen, and even on from then, I'd say. It's a REALLY good book, and at this is a really good price. It's really worth it.
Rating: Summary: It's the greatest thing since The Neverending Story!!!!!!!!! Review: This book was excellent! It quickly dives into action after about 5 pages and is packed with the fantasy I love! Also, there's none of this skipedy-skip-gumdrops-and-icecream junk like there are in lesser fantasy novels like OZ. If you don't like beautifully written fantasy novels and would rather just sit down with the news, fine. Go ahead, depress yourself by reading about the world's problems. I'll dissapear into a younger world where anything is possible and magic is the rule.
Rating: Summary: Magical and page turning excitement Review: Outcast Daine, with a knack with horses, finds a wizard named Numair and discovers she holds Wild Magic! She has a mysterious life and has many secrets yet to be shared. Mother killed, father unknown. Evil Spidrens and Stormwings. Her magic is growing and now she can heal animals!
Rating: Summary: Some one tell me, Can you find another book as good as this? Review: I was given this book for Christmas one year. I put it up on my bookshelf, and it sat there, gathering dust, for a few monthes. Before I picked it up and decided to take it on a trip for something to do in the car. Since then it hasn't returned to the shelf since. The book now looks about ten years old. The covers are dog eared and some of the pages are ripping. I think I may read this book every week. It is so like nothing I had ever read, until I read the Alanna series and the rest of these. Within the pages there are characters, that even though they are so different from us, we can see ourselves within them. The things that she spends less time discussing are the things that show us that they are real human beings. A question Daine asks or a response Numair gives her, the pleading look in the royal children and Alanna's children's eyes as they see what their parents must do. And we all know people who can remind us of the Immortals. We all know a stormwing (or two). This book is so wonderful and a perfect introduction into the lives of these normal, yet amazing people.
Rating: Summary: One of a kind Review: This was an awsome book. When I heard that Tamora pierce had written another series I ran to the book store to by the first book. This book went totally beyond my expectations. I loved this book because I've never read anything like it. I am an animal lover to begin with so this book was perfect for me. I've read it so many times the book is falling apart. If you like books about magic I suggest you try reading A Wizard of Earthsea, All books by Patricia C. Read, and the series called His Dark Materials by Phillip Pullman. Pulman's book is a little odd but totally worth it!!
Rating: Summary: Action Packed Review: I read this book because my friend told me to. It is so good. It starts of with action and ends in action. Pierce keeps the reader entertained throughout the book by improving Daine's magic and by telling more about the kingdom of Tortall. I liked the character of Daine and found her easy to relate to. Pierce's humor also keeps the book interesting. A must read for any fan of fantasy.
Rating: Summary: This is GREAT Review: This is a GREAT book. If you read and liked The Song of the Lioness Quartet, then this series, the Immortals Quartet, is a must-read. It has Alanna, Jon, Thayet, George, and many other Lioness characters in it, along with a whole new cast of characters unique to the Immortals Quartet. It is a creative way to continue the stories of Tortall, and if you liked the Lioness books, you'll love these. Both of these series are my personal favorites, and I'm sure they'll be yours, too. :)
Rating: Summary: An epic tale of spectacular adventures and thrilling magic. Review: Beautifully written with adventures to suceed in around every corner. A wonderful plot to tie in with awsome characters and ideas. A very entertaining beginning to a spectacular series.
Rating: Summary: Creative! Review: This is the kind of book I wish had been around when I was a teenager. I was scanning the YA market and I picked this one at random, to see what was being done with YA Fantasy and I ended up being more impressed than I expected. I can see why all the fans like it so much.
