Rating: Summary: The Best Book in the Whole World! Review: The only reason I bought Wild Magic at a book fair was because it had horses on the front. By the end of the day I was in love, and now having read the last book, I am so sorry I won't see Daine again. Anyone can read this book and love it. My ultimate dream now is to meet Tamora Pierce, have her sign my copy of Wild Magic (my first book by her) and ask her how she writes so well. I would rate this book 1,000,000 stars except 5 was the maximum.
Rating: Summary: Tamora Pierce - One of the Greatest Authors in History Review: 'Wild Magic'. When you are like me, a kid, and you're looking at a book, you think "What am I doing here? I could be at the mall on a shopping spree!" But no. I was drawn here. I had experience with Tamora Pierce before, and I recall not being able to put the book down even after I had read it several thousand times. Now I was questing for another taste of magical wonder, in the land of Alanna, the King's Champion, where Jonathan and Thayet ruled. It took me a few measely seconds to snatch up the book in my eager hands and to run to the casier whom I handed over my money excitedly (I'm surprised I didn't actually over pay him!). With that simpled task done I rushed home and flung myself headlong into the pages of fantasy. Daine. The name must be Daine. I knew that once I had read only a few pages of the book she would become my heroine, my true wish of who I wanted to become. I wished to be a girl, with wonderful fantastic powers. I wanted to be a girl like Daine, and live in the land of Tortall, with magic and immortals and knights. My eyes devoured the words with such pleasure that I realized that I could easily spend millions on books, have I been given the chance. Daine and Onua, the Horse Trainer and her orphan assistant. What I would give to meet them! Deeper into the book I find, to my delight, favorite characters of the past return, this time with a new type of sensation. Only half-way through the book I know that it will be read so often, the pages turned until they tore, that my precious book would become worn and old, but look loved. Mages and knights and Kings and Queens... How can we live without them? With I sigh I close the book as I end the fantasy, the story of remarkable magic. Daine, how amazing! How can you battle immortals with skill? Numair! How is it that you become so grand at magic? Onua, Sarge, Cloud and Kitten, how wonderful and special you are to me. And Jonathan, Thayet, Gorege, Alanna... I never knew I could miss a simple book character so much! I leave the book to go eat, visit with my parents, do other normal teenage things. But tomorrow, I will return to that bookstore, and buy the next book. What is it called? Wolf-Speaker? Whatever it may be, I know that it must be wonderful. Because in the enchanted land of magic, heroes and heroines, immortals and knights, anything is wonderful to me.
Rating: Summary: This Book Rocks!! Review: I loved this book. In my opinion, it is by far one of the best books tamora has ever written. Great plot, and it even featured some characters from the lioness quartet. I first got this book for my birthday and when I started it I couldn't put it down. As soon as I could I went over to the nearest bookstore and bought the rest of the books in the series. If you like fantasy you'll love Wild Magic.
Rating: Summary: Read Repeatedly Review: This book is my favorite in the Immortals series. It's interesting to watch Dain discover her magic, though her naiveness and her slight ignorance got on my nerves at times. The only one that I can specifically recall is when she asked what anatomy was. Other than that, Tamora Pierce paints a wonderful world that I became so involved in, I almost thought it was real. When I finish the book each time, I dive strait into the second, because it leaves me wanting more.
Rating: Summary: twas but a day at the town to a work of brilliance Review: A young girl, whom faced tradgedy when her parents where prutally killed by theives, is found dirt stricken and with her only posetion - her little mare- in the market watching a herd of horses whom are about to be driven to tortall. She is untamed, completetly manner-less, but what have we here? Can she communicate with these animal? At least she seems to get along with them well. These are the thoughts that may have been driving through Onoa's mind as she watched the girl with her herd. So off they go, the untamed girl, the horse -mistress, little gray pony, a dog and a herd of horses bound to tortall. Only Tamora can tell you what will happen apon there journey. About the many strange creatures who interfere with the task they are bound to, about there new found friend and soon a teacher. This book is filled with the excitment and breath taking tale of all the harry potter's! The caractors mind as well be your best freinds considering how much you know about them. I would reccomend this book to be read alound to children, or to be read by any age. It is but a work of art im sure you will love.
Rating: Summary: Absolutely Splendid Review: I would recommend this book to anyone who loves animals. the wonderful Daine is a splendid character that can relate to almost any teenager who has a passion for animals. Tamora has created yet another legend in Tortall - who, hopefully, will not be the last - she has included all great characters like the Lioness, King Johnathon, Queen Thayet, and of course, George- the King of Theives. This story is uplifting and full of adventure and excitment. If you start reading this book, you will get hooked, I garuntee it! In my opinion, the Immortals series is the best of Tamora's pieces..though the Lioness Quartet was very original, this series has a more modern feel and shows her love of animals. So, if you are considering reading this book then I urge you to hurry up and order it! Don't hesitate, this book is worth it- you will see.....
Rating: Summary: You will love this book! Review: Parent-less Daine gets a job as assitant horse mistress for theRiders, a group of young men and women who protect the kingdom ofTortall. She soon learns that she has a rare kind of magic known as "wild magic" that gives her a powerful bond with animals. If you like Tamora Pierce's books or just love fantasy books, this is definently the book for you!
Rating: Summary: Stunning! Review: I loved this book! It is one of my absolute favorite Tamora Pierce books, and I've read them all (except the three newest ones). It is a great start to a great quartet. Daine, Onua, Numair, Alanna, and all the other characters are shown with such detail, you think they wrote this book themselves. Which they did, in a way. If you loved The Song of the Lioness Quartet, you'll love this book (and the ones after it).
Rating: Summary: A Wonderful Extraordinary Book! Review: I picked this book out just by looking at the cover. I know you are not supposed to judge a book by its cover, but I love books involving animals and this just seemed like "that kind of book". I started reading it and quickly fell in love with all the characters. The unusually fast reader I am, it actually took me a long time to read this book because I didn't want to skip a word! I have read many books, but I have never anything as great as this. I stayed up till 2 on a school night just to finish. As soon as you pick it up, you won't be able to put it down. And then, you still have 3 more to go!
Rating: Summary: Probably my favorite book Review: This is one of the few books I never tire of reading. Ever since my mother took it out of the library it has been a favorite of mine. I did eventually buy my own copy. This is a wonderful coming of age story, filled with adventure, magic, and friendship. I would recommend this book to anyone who enjoys a good fantasy romp. Diane is probably one of my favorite characters of all time (along with Alanna the Lioness); the girl's got spunk. Don't take it from me that this book is great, read it yourself. It has to have something special to get so many great reviews.
