Summary: Best Fantsy Ever
Review: It was the best Book ever. It was very suspensful. It has a lot of folk stories and religious stories within the book. It is also very deep and thought provocing.

Summary: Disappointed
Review: I just finished reading The Sight, and I was actually quite disappointed. I had heard that David Clement-Davies was supposed to write in a style vaguely reminiscent of Watership Down, but in my humble opnion, this book is not nearly as good. He seems determined to incorporate his own philosophical beliefs into the book, especially towards the end, which I really did not appreciate. I just wanted a good story about wolves without his own personal views of Christianity(he wouldn't appear to be one), evolution, human life, and so on. I don't have anything against lively discussion on these topics, but I don't like to have someone else's idea dropped on me when I'm not intrested. I really wanted to like this book (plus the cover art is so cool!), but at best, I find it mediocre. The plot as a whole, while certianly not bad, and containing some interesting myths and such, was nothing to get excited about, and sometimes I found the writing style a bit lacking. I wish I had waited for the paperback version of this book, instead of springing for the hardcover.

Summary: The Sight
Review: It was a good book. Well written. It didn't take me long to read it. The overall story was excellent, but the end was quite depressing. Sure, Morgra and her pack got what was coming to them, but...My heart fell when Larka did. I'd have liked to have seen her and Kar have pups of their own, start a new pack, so on and so forth, but like I said it was depressing. I also did not like the vision. It was a good leadup, but the vision was a letdown. I would recommend the book, but I would recommend Fire Bringer first.

Morga wants to find the pack because Palla(Morga's younger sister) the Drappa or alpa female is going to have puppies. Eversince Morga manged to get the Balkar, a pack of male wolves, obey her she has been insisting that when a pack has puppies she gets the puppies. Summary: Great, great read
Review: This book deals with the magnitudes of good and evil in ways that some people have only dreamed about.

It follows the main character, Larka, a white wolf, through her hazards as she is pocessed with the gift, or curse, known as "The Sight." She must reckon with the forces of good and evil, pain and pleasure, and the torture between sacrifice and selfishness.

This book all too clearly shows the struggle of humans with themselves, but this time, it does it with wolves, as Adams' did to beautifully with "Watership Down." This book compares with Adams' all too nicely. I like this book better.

It is thought-provoking and leaves questions, and it leaves you feeling the pain that the characters must go through. It frees your imagination.

I would recommend this book to anyone, because this book relates to us all, and Clement-Davies' does it in a way we can all relate to. Check out this book or you'll be missing something.

Summary: Good, But It's Not Fire Bringer
Review: I stumbled upon Fire Bringer in my regular visits to the bookstore and bought it without a second thought. I couldn't tear myself away from it. When i discover Clement-Davies had written another book about wolves, i ran right out to get it. When i finally sat down and read it, however, i was minorly disappointed.
The dialogue can be cheesy at points and bothersome at others. The author actually seems to enjoy killing off almost the entire pack in the first few chapters and depressing the heck out of the reader in the process. The "sight" itself and it's description bored me, though I don't know why.
Still, the book is very well written and i have nothing but compliments for it, with the exception of the previous paragraph. The underlying metaphors and allegories give the book incredible depth and perspective, and the history contained in the story educate the reader while the wolves' treatment create sympathy for modern wolves. All in all, it's a great book, but it isn't Fire Bringer.

Summary: Best Book EVER!!!
Review: If you haven't read 'The Sight' yet, I don't know why you aren't reading it right now! It is the best book I ever layed eyes on and I'm only half way through it! It is all about a wolf pack on a journey of survival, you see, the Dragga and Drappa (pack leaders) have cubs and one is a white wolf called Larka and she has the sight. The sight is a wolf ledgend that allows you to see through birds eyes, see far off realities in the water and even controll others' minds! When Morgra (an evil she-wolf) puts a curse on the pack, they all start dying and the pack fears it is because of the curse, and the sight! They run away and all get separated and Larka leaves the pack because she thinks if she is not with them, the curse cannot harm them! Then, Larka finds this human child, (which is all part of the ledgend)and that's all I've read so far! He he he... just look at the other reviews to find out more! It is really good and I couldn't put it down! Ok, bye, I'm off to read The Sight!

Summary: An Epic, Enthralling, Heartrending Tale!
Review: After I enjoyed Fire-Bringer, I thought that Davies would never be able to write a novel more wonderful than that. Nevertheless, I waited in anticipation to get my hands on it. I'm a big fan of wolves and furry/fantasy literature, and so I hoped for the best. From page one, I knew that this would be as good, if not even better than the debut novel...

... I do believe that both those older and younger than I would enjoy it. Don't let the length intimidate you! The book is never slow. Quickly, the plot thickens and churns, and you find yourself eagerly reading, wondering about the final outcome.

It keeps you on the edge of your seat... Davies is a master of suspense. Be forewarned, however, that this work is not so happy as Fire-Bringer. It takes a darker path, and it did, at times, summon a few tears. Rather than reading this review, I do suggest that you instead buy this book. I read it from the library first, but this is the sort of book that doesn't get old when you read and reread it. 5 stars is only fitting!
