Rating: Summary: Alpha and Omega! Review: I remember when I got this book in my Easter basket two years ago. I picked it up, and didn't stop reading until I was finished. Since then I've read it about 65 times, and I still read it almost every day. "Absolutely Normal Chaos" led me to read "The Odyssey," which is another one of my favourites, and I've also taken up Mary Lou's expressions such as Omnipotent, cabbageheaded and all that other sum and substance. It is also my inspiration for journaling. I recommend "Absolutely Normal" to absolutely everyone I meet. And they all tell me I'm exactly like Mary Lou... har har har. Anyway, I guess I should go ahead and review the book.Absolutely Normal Chaos is about a 13-year-old girl named Mary Lou Finney who is assigned by her English teacher, Mrs. Zollar, to keep a journal over the summer. Mary Lou has no idea what a journal really is, so she decides to just write away and hope she's doing it right. Over the summer, Mary Lou's cousin, Carl Ray, comes to stay with her family. She also becomes involved with Alex Cheevey, a boy from school. What happens next is an odyssey in itself, and I don't want to give away the ending to this wonderful book. For my final sentence, two words: READ IT!

I recomend this book to everyone... it's about a girl Mary Lou Finney and how her summer was " Absolutely Normal Chaos!". First in the begginning, her summer homework assignment was to have a journal over the summer, she doesn't want to do it, but she ends up NOT wanting to her new Engligh teacher to read it! She doesn't believe that he'll get it! I give this story two thumbs up and recomend it to everyone and hope they enjoy it as much as I did!
Rating: Summary: One of my favorite books! Review: Absolutely normal chaos is one of my favorite books! It has so many fun characters I can really relate to. Although it gets a bit dull when all Mary Lou talks about is Alex Cheevy. Don't get me wrong! It's fun to read about. I reccomend this book to girls ages 11-13.
Rating: Summary: Get this book Review: This book was fabulous! I liked how Sharon Creech could relate a girls feelings, and make the world cry, laugh, and see through the eyes of this girl. I shared her triumphs! Keep the books coming!
Rating: Summary: Great characters Review: I liked this book, but it was a little confusing if it is read after Walk Two Moons. So read this before Walk Two Moons.
Rating: Summary: A GREAT book written by someone who understands Review: I was in fifth grade when I read this book, so I was too young to fully understand the significance of Mary Lou`s experiences. But now I`ll be entering seventh grade in a month and from what I experienced during my previous school year, I can easily relate to almost everything that Mary Lou went through: boys, family, frustration, belonging. I still have yet to experience my first kiss, though. And Sharon Creech doesn`t give this to us in a condescending way, either. Like Beverly Cleary and Judy Blume, she clearly remembers what it`s like growing up and the difficulties me and other people my age have to go through just to be accepted. Mary Lou is a girl I can relate with, love and family-wise. Like her, I have my ambitions and apprehensiveness towards boys and I got my family problems. There is one minor flaw, though: There need to be some non-white people. I mean, come on, would it kill you if you could just write in a black, Asian, or Hispanic person, even as a minor character? Still, this is a great book that is definitely worth reading. `Nuff said.
