Summary: Great Book
Review: The story of Mary Lou Finney, who is still trying to find out "who she is". She has 4 siblings- slobby Dougie, mischevious Dennis, baby Tommy, and girly-girl Maggie. She has to write a journal for school over the summer, which would be so much easier if she knew what one IS.

In the story, the dull dog days of summer turn exciting when Carl Ray, who eats a ton and is still as skinny as a stick, comes to stay with the Finneys. THere is also a death, Mary Lou's first love (a pink-cheeked, blond-haired boy who smells like soap), and a huge plot twist that makes this book worthwhile reading.

Good summer reading for 8-11 yrs. old who enjoy a light read. Read it in a hammock, with pink lemonade, some oatmeal cookies, and a day alone.

Summary: Quirky...
Review: This story takes place through one summer. It is about a fourteen year old girl who tries to cope with her large, loud, quirky family. I love the characters, they are wonderfully imagined and yet people that everyone can relate to.
This story is about Mary Lou's process of dealing with her first boyfriend, her best friend and her first journal.
I reccomend this story to 11 to 14 year olds.

Review: Absolutely Normal Chaos
By: Sharon Creech

The book Absolutely Normal Chaos By Sharon Creech is about a girl named Mary Lou who has a very hectic summer. First of all she has a assingment to keep a journal over the summer! Boring! Then her cousin comes into town for some reason that no one knows. But that is just the beggining! She also gets her first boyfriend, her neighbor dies and she also has problems with her friends. For Mary lou what started out as a boring summer became an adventure.

I really enjoyed reading this book because it was in journal form which I really like. Plus it is about an average girl with an average life and average problems (well sort of.) I reccomend this book for girls around the world. I know I certainly loved it.

Summary: Absolutely Normal Chaos
Review: This book is about a girl named Mary Lou Finney. She has a sister named Maggie and three brothers named Dennis, Doug, and Tommy. Her best friend Beth Ann and Maggie are boy crazy. Everything changes when Carl Ray comes from West Virginia to "find a job". Only he isn't looking for a job he's trying to find some one but who?
I would recommend this book to anyone who likes drama, romance, and comedy all mixed together. This is a great book because you can relate to some of the issues in it. Like your first love, a friend's death, and fighting with friends. I highly recommend this book.

Summary: Absolutely Normal Chaos is ANYTHING but Absolutely Normal!
Review: This book is wonderful. Sharon Creech never ceases to amaze me in how she writes. She always finds a way to touch you in whatever way it is, and this book is a wonderful example of it. Mary Lou Finney, the thoughtful, clever, and just plain normal in all aspects main character, is going through her teen years. Add expierences to that such as death, a best friend crisis and a crush...you get this touching and well thought-out book.

Summary: Good easy summer read
Review: This author seems to be able to write just like I remember when I was younger reading fiction. I read this in a few days and it was a nice distraction. The characters were pleasant and believable. The story was current and may relate to many teens.

Summary: Absolutely Normal Chaos by Sharon Creech
Review: If you have never read Absolutely Normal Chaos, by Sharon Creech, then you are missing out on a wonderful book! Absolutely Normal Chaos is the best book you will ever read! The wonderful journey begins when Beth Ann is told to write a journal about her summer. She tells about everything that happens during the summer. After reading this book, nothing about Beth Ann's life is a secret. First of all, she thinks her summer is going to be ruined when she finds out her cousin, Carl Ray is coming to live with her family, but her thoughts soon change. In this book, Beth Ann also starts dating Alex, whom she is in love with, which is another adventure in itself. Beth Ann takes a trip with Carl Ray to his home out in the country and finds out very interesting and important facts about his life. I think I like this book more than any other books by Sharon Creech, because it fits my style of reading so well! I love unpredictable books that you have no idea what is going to happen next, and books that draw you in, before you finish the first sentence!
