Summary: Not the best of its kind
Review: Though this book was exciting and insightful, some of the things that happened in it came off as implausible. The interview fragments at the beginning of each chapter were a very effective way to build tension and I enjoyed trying to fit together the clues left in them. Still, for a better book with a nearly identical premise (Cool kids try to "popularize" a nerd in exchange for computer hacking favors only to have it go awry), I would recommend Shades of Simon Gray by Joyce McDonald

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Thrilling!
Review: what a page-turner! brutal kids take a nerd as a ginea pig and "experiment". they want to prove they can manipulate their fellow students opinions. although the kids seem "normal", the author shows they are cold-hearted w/o regard for real human feelings or qualities. the thing is: it's easy to identify how familiar the characters really are!

Rating: 4 stars
Summary: A psychological, page-turning thriller
Review: With writing that immediately and effectively captures high school dynamics of teen-age boys on the edge, Giles has created a dynamic psychological, page-turning thriller. There's no holding back on the kids of cool who play Cinderella to the geek Glass. He will become Mr. Popular. Observer and teller, Young's first person narration -and chapter introductions by other characters- foreshadow the shattering, not only of Simon Glass, but all that is yet to come. Steel yourself for an all-night read! You won't be disappointed...
