Summary: Never forget what you had read!
Review: It's hard for Anne Wingate and her father to accept the doctor's diagnosis: Anne is HIV positive. Seven years earlier, before blood screening was required. Anne received a transfusion to save her life, and the blood was tainted. Now Anne must deal with inevitable progression of her condition. When an anonymous benefactor promises to grant a single wish with no strings attached, Anne decides to spend the summer on a ranch out west and live as normally as she possibly can. ONE LAST WISH is the novel that will make you cry and it can keep you up all night to get to the last page. Lurlene McDaniel is very good at describing people. You better get the book and strat them right away.

Summary: A Book To make you laugh, A book to make you cry
Review: Lurlene shows both sides of the spectrum in her new triology, ONE LAST WISH. The last novel in the series, Sixteen and Dying, was the personal favorite. A true tearjerker, as my Mom would say. Lurlene has always been a great author, but the new triology truely exceeded her expectations.

Although all three of the novels have to do with a young person dealing with a disease, she seems to make death seem like a thing that they looked forward to. This book is a "must-have" for all teenagers and adults alike.

Summary: One Last Wish
Review: One Last Wish combines 3 compelling tales into 1 book. The stories are so vivid it seems as if you're right there alongside the characters, feeling their pain, and sharing their friends' sorrow. I cried after each of these stories; they seemed so real. It really shows how terminaly ill teenagers feel, and what they're going through, it definately made me take a step back and put my life into perspective! I can't put this book down, it's a must read!

Summary: One Last Wish is a wonderful hope for all deadly ill teens.
Review: One Last Wish is the story of a girl named who lives with her grandmother on the eastern coast of the United States. As in all of Lurlene McDaniel's Books, there is a tragedy of an illness involved. Jenny is diagnosed with Leukemia and through the plot learns what the hard conditions of being a cancer patient is. Her grandmother is very wealthy which enables Jenny to have special care even though she doesn't want the extra attention. She just wanted to get through the hard times as quickly as possible and get into a remission.

Jenny and her grandmother aren't the only people that are worried. Richard--Jenny's best friend since she was 8 years old--has not been able to see her, because she doesn't want him to see her so sick. Richard loves her dearly and she loves him to, but she doesn't want him to see her in such pain.

This book has been inspirational to me in many ways. I knew cancer was a deadly illness that some people get through and some people die from. I think that this made me more aware of what some teens have to go through. No one should have to endure such awful pain in their life.

I reccomend this book to anyone who knows people going through some sort of an illness or any of Lurlene McDaniel's books. Lurlene tends to write about people dealing with illnesses and all of her books are heartwarming and sentimental.

Summary: Great Stories!
Review: These stories truly went straight to my heart...every single one of them! Mainly because I could relate to all of them. In the first story, Sarah had leukemia and I once had a very good friend that went through all the same ordeals as Sarah. The second story I think I can relate to also because a couple of months back, I too was a candy striper at my local hospital because I had to get service hours for my church in order to be Confirmed, and just like Megan, I too went to the hospital everyday at first just wanting to get my hours done and go home, but after awhile, some of the patients that you visit with and get to know everyday have a very huge impact on you and your life sort of starts to revolve around them because you're constantly worrying about their health but, there's nothing you can do except listen to them talk everyday and try to cheer them up the best that you can. Then finally in the third story about Anne, I can also relate because just recently my distant cousin, whom I was very close with, passed away on account of HIV and the AIDS virus and I know the struggle she went through everyday because I was with her most days. Her and my friend, with leukemia, were also part of the reason I stuck with my candy striping job at the hospital because, like Megan put it, it gives you a great feeling of joy knowing that somehow you made a difference in someone's life and even though I'm only a sophmore in high school, I am already starting to make plans to someday attend Medical School and become a doctor so that I can keep making a difference in people's lives. So, thank you Lurlene for writing these beautiful and truly heart-warming stories that I would recommend to anyone and everyone!
