Rating: Summary: Chasing Redbird--- A Great Book Review: This is a great book. Honestly, for the first few chapters, it is very slow, and at times boring, but as you move on, the dull first chapters outlet some really exciting and intense ones. Chasing Redbird is about a brewing teen romance and a young girl's quest to find something that her heart won't let the world see. Two tragic events happen in Zinny's (the main character) life and it makes her even more determined to achieve her heart's desire. I think that this is a truly inspiring and heart- warming book that readers of all ages should pick up. If, not, they are truly missing out.
Rating: Summary: I learned so many valuable lessons from this book! Review: I was home sick from school today and I decided to read 'Chasing Redbird' again for the second or third time. I am 13 years old, and I actually think that I enjoyed this book better when I was a couple of years younger. However, this time I got much more out of it and I still loved it enough to give it five stars. I would recommend this book to anyone who enjoys a good read and a heartwarming story. Sharon Creech is a wonderful writer and I always enjoy the creative sayings, expressions, and words she weaves into her fantastic stories.'Chasing Redbird' tells the story of the summer Zinny Taylor is 13 and decides to clear a 20-mile trail that begins near her farm and ends in a nearby town. She does this partly for herself- she feels forgotten and lonely as the quiet middle child in her family, and she can't get over the feeling that she is the cause of the deaths of her beloved Aunt Jessie and cousin, Rose. She also does it partly for her Uncle Nate, who spends his days chasing after his dead wife and carrying a stick. She also does it partly for her Aunt Jessie who she longs to see and be loved by once again. By the time the summer is over, Zinny has cleared the whole trail and found everything she has been searching for. With her newfound knowledge, Zinny can live again, which she hasn't really been able to do since Aunt Jessie died. This book made me feel warm and cozy and was very well written. The characters were realistic and loveable, especially Uncle Nate, who was my favorite. 'Chasing Redbird' was touching and gave excellent insight to the mixed-up life of a 13 year-old girl. Bravo Sharon Creech!

Rating: Summary: Chasing Redbird Review: This book, Chasing Redbird, is one of the best books I have ever read. It's a definate page turner, and the author just keeps making you want to read on. The characters in this book are ones that are easy to relate to, which make this book that much better. Zinny, the main character, is one of nine children in her family, and her closest relatives are her Uncle Nate and Aunt Jessie. When Aunt Jessie dies, Uncle Nate is lost, and longs for the return of his wife. Zinnny escapes to the woods in her backyard, and finds a trail. While uncovering it, she is led to many places. While traveling along the trail, Zinny finds out the secret that has been hidden from her for so long.
Rating: Summary: What a Woderful Book! (Chasing Redbird: Sharon Creech) Review: This book is great! I read it over and over and over again! It's about a little girl who is lost in her family of 9. But when she discoveres a path in her back yard, she follows it, and what she finds, she will be forever known.
Rating: Summary: Not done yet Review: I'm reading this book aloud with my nine year old who's already completed it. Odd to review a book you haven't finished? It's wonderful! Subtle, nuances that speak of real life (somewhere else than where we live---which is great!) tragic and funny with lots of mystery and grey behavior. I don't know where the author is taking us, but the ride is pure pleasure. Fascinated to note that character,Sal Hiddle, mentioned in absentia, is the center of Newberry Award Winner "Walk Two Moons". Can't wait to read that one next!!
Rating: Summary: You have to read it! Review: Chasing Redbird is my favorite book of Sharon Creech's that I've read of so far. I didn't want to stop reading it. Chasing Redbird is about a girl named Zinnia. She is all confused. She thinks she killed her Aunt and Cousin. Chasing Redbird is very well written, an uncommon treat. I liked how all the characters had their own personalities and how Zinnia and her Aunt seemed the most creative. They both had the best imaginations. I felt like I was Zinnia. I felt like I was there with her, experiencing what was happening and what she was doing. The plot was confusing in the beginning but once I had read a couple of chapters things seemed to make sense. The main part in the book is basically that Zinnia discovers a trail behind her barn and she clears it. She keeps clearing it for several of days. Along the trail she discovers a few very interesting things. What she discovers has to do with a few people in her life. This book includes a lot of romance, and adventures. By: Mary
