Rating: Summary: I loved this book! Review: I love this book soooo much. I am thirteen years old, but I read it when I was in about the first grade. I loved it, and I had been searching for it, always remembering it, then I finally bought it yesterday, along with Walk Two Moons and Absolutely Normal Chaos, which are also by Sharon Creech. I disagree with whoever says this book was boring. And it wasn't just about trying to show children that growing up is tough, we already know that. It was written also to show grown-ups that they're not the only ones who have problems, that we're not stupid, and that they're not the only people in this world. I give Sharon Creech 5 stars, she captured a thriteen-year-old perfectly!
Rating: Summary: Chasing Redbird Review: Chasing Redbird is a full length novel written by Sharon Creech. Zinnia Taylor, who's 13, is one of the 7 children in the Taylors' house. Her sisters describe her as the stingiest one in the family. As her closest relative family one by one dies, she realizes how mich closer she is to them then her family. One of her older sisters, May the prettier one, usually attracts all the boys attention, but sometimes the boys use Zinny to get May's attention. There is one boy though, in Bybanks, Kentucky, whom everyone likes, out of all the girls he likes only Zinny and not even May. Zinny thinks he is just trying to get May's attention like all of the other boys but he wouldn't have to do that because May is already in love with him. He would basically do anything just to please Zinny even steal stuff. Zinny throughout the story always wants time to be by herself and not have 6 other siblings annoy her all the time. Her uncle, who always says he sees his red headed wife, who died, flying around outside, shows something to Zinny which makes everything come together and make sense. Everything seems to be taken away from her life until she uncovers something very special.....one which she could have all to herself. This absolutely amazing 6 star novel will super glue everyone to their seats.
Rating: Summary: Forced to Read Sharon Creech's Novel! Review: This is a story of a girl named Zinnia Taylor. In this boring book you will find death as a common occurance. Zinny's cousin Rose died when Zinny had a whooping cough that she caught. Aunt Jessie, Zinny's aunt, died just a couple of years later. The search in this repetititve book is to find her path in life. She goes on a long dull journey clearing a trail and uncovering her real self. Finally she realizes she has a spot in the true world. I rate this book with boys in mind. This book is quite pointless and boring. It's meant to help kids understand how hard growing up can be, but she does an awful job. Sharon Creech, the author of Chasing Redbird, makes books mostly for females. Sentimental people will find this book great but for the not-so-touchable you'll find it boring and repetitive. If you like books with death and love and all that cheesy stuff you'll like this non-creative, day-by-day story! The thrills in this story are when someone is sick. The pathetic idea of this story may interest the heart-warming readers. Many loving characters are in this simple story. Possibly too much love. The story is set on a farm in Kentucky, which is a nice setting. Death comes too often repeating itself. First goes one family member. Whoosh! There goes another and another. In my opinion this book would rate a 2 star because of the repetitive, non-creative, uncomfortable, pointless story. It's in the dumps!
Rating: Summary: Book Rewiew for ''Chasing Redbird'' Review: In this story the saying, ''Life is like a bowl of spaghetti and once in a while you get a meat ball", means life is always a mess in other words not everything goes acording to plan nor the way we wanted it to. Once in awhile we get a big bonus, like a meatball. It starts out as a girl's story about her and how she feel's like she is nobody; this is Zinny's story in Chasing Redbird. It starts out as Zinny is wondering what belongs to her and who she is. As Zinny is thrown for a loop because of her Aunt Jessie and her cousin Rose's deathes, she starts getting weird sensations and finnding things that don't make any sense. Zinny finds a trail and strives to get it done before summer's over, but as she goes further things start getting weirder and more mysterious. In the end, she discovers herself and how the trail is connected to her. I recommened this book because once you read this book you'll find out how life is, if Zinny finishes the trail, what the mysterious things mean, and how they are connected to her.
Rating: Summary: The Way of Life Review: Chasing Redbird is a great book. The main character in the book is a 13-year old girl named Zinny. She has alot of brothers and sisters. Her aunt, uncle, and cousin live next to her house. When Rose, Zinny's cousin, dies from the whooping cough Zinny feels like it is her fault. Nine years later, Her Aunt Jessie dies. After Zinney's aunt dies, her uncle, Uncle Nate, starts chasing air saying it is Aunt Jessie and beating ropes because he thinks they are snakes and Aunt Jessie was afraid of snakes. After the death of her aunt, which struck Zinny hard because she spent alot of time over at Aunt Jessie's place, she tries to find out about herself. It's hard for her to discover who she is because her spaghetti(her life)is all tangled up and it just keeps getting more messed up. She discovers a trail and the more she clears it, the more she finds out about her life. I like this book because it shows how the main character deals with death, love, family, and just plain life. The book tells you that sometimes when bad things happen, we blame our selves because we don't know who else to blame. It made me realize that we can't stop things from happening, but we can learn from them. This book helped me relize that life is not always what you think it is going to be, but it always works out in the end.
Rating: Summary: Zinny Taylor's Life-Boring Review: The book of Chasing Redbird is about a girl named Zinny Taylor who lives with her family: Bonnie,Gretchen,May,Ben,Will and her mom and dad. Zinny has an Uncle Nate,Aunt Jessie and a cousin Rose. Rose died very young followed a couple years later by her mother, Aunt Jessie. Uncle Nate, their neighbor, goes crazy and spends his days for searching for his redbird, Aunt Jessie, out in the woods. Zinny thinks it is her fault that Rose and Aunt Jessie died. Zinny finds a trail and decides to spend her time uncovering it. The story also includes,Jake, the boy who likes Zinny. Zinny, who thinks she is being used so he can date May, her older sister, refuses to believe that anyone would like her. In the end, Zinny completes the trail and realizes that she has a purpose and is more important than she thought she was. Chasing Redbird is a book that I didn't like that much. I do not like the book, like her others, because they are boring to me. The book is about a girl trying to find her place in the world like all the other ones I have read.
Rating: Summary: An Exciting novel for All! Review: Chasing Redbird was a fun exciting story for me. Sharon Creech did a superb job on this story. The way she described how Zinny felt through the whole novel was amazing. Zinny felt like nothing was her's anymore and felt put down when her sisters started saying she was immature because she collected oddball things. But things changed when she found the trail and knew it held all the secrets to Rose and Aunt Jessie's death's. Things get out of hand when a boy named Jake shows an interest in her. She doubts, due to past experiences, that he is merely trying to get to her May, her older sister, through her. In the end, she uncovers herself as she uncovers the trail. If you are interested in reading a Sharon Creech novel, I suggest Chasing Redbird. Its a wonderful story about a girl trying to find herself. She realized that life, like a bowl of spaghetti, has many twists and turns. I've read three of Sharon Creech' s books and Chasing Redbird is the best one yet!

Rating: Summary: The trail down life of Zinnia Taylor Review: Chasing Redbird is a great and exciting book with secrets unlocked throughout the story! I loved this book for it's many twists and turns down a 13 year old girls life. This book's many themes include love, death, friendship, and family. I would recommend this book for anyone, but I believe a girl would find it much more interesting. I was really into the book at the end because of the answers to many of Zinny's questions, and that the start of the book was a lot less interesting. The main character, Zinnia Taylor, discovers a trail on her farm that leads to Chocton. She devotes her whole summer to uncover the trail, and to stand out from her many siblings. Along the way of her journey, Zinny learns a lot about her story of complicated emotions over love, death, friendship, and family. Making her life even more complicated, an old friend, Jake Boone, moves back to her town. When he brings Zinny many presents and gifts, Zinny gets angrier and angrier believing that the reason for doing so is to get closer to her older sister, May. As Zinny tangles her way through her "bowl of spaghetti life", she learns a lot about herself. When your reading this book, it is definately very hard to set down!
