Summary: I was born on Leap Day!
Review: Coming from the perspective of someone born on Leap Day, I thought the books accuracy about Leap Day was impressive. What a delightful day Josie had. I wish I had a book like this when I was turning 16... on my 4th birthday!

Wendy Mass obviously knows her characters, and her audience, well. I couldn't wait to get back to the book to see how Josie's day was going. It was cool to get to see the experiences of the day through the eyes of her family and friends too. Not just her.

It's a great book and should be in every library; home, school, and city! I'm going to donate one to my local High School. I hope you will too.

Summary: One Giant Leap for Mass
Review: Did you enjoy the end of February? There is a very insightful book called "Leap Day" by Wendy Mass that was released in anticipation of this February's special day.

The main character who was born on Leap Year. The book takes place in 24 hours on her 16th - technically her 4th - birthday. Each chapter has two portions: the first part in first person from her point of view, and the second part in third person from every other character's point of view.

This teen novel is very cute and very smart. It shows the reader that what you think about someone else may not be well founded and what you assume to be true is not always so. All in all, well worth the read. I recommend it.

Summary: Excellent!
Review: Everything about this book is spot on.

Reading a book from the perspective of someone born on February 29th was interesting, but that wasn't the only interesting thing about this book.

The very format of following one fairly ordinary day in the life of a teenager, and all the run-of-the-mill interactions was a very good idea, and it works, even though it sounds boring. The way Mass shows us not only Josie is feeling, but how everyone else around her has their own secrets, is ingenious, and can be very touching and sweet. The setting of Orlando was great also.

This is a book that looks fluffy and fun, and is, but has other levels that make it very rewarding and will put a smile on your face.

Summary: Other People's Stories
Review: Haven't you always wanted to read a book where you get to find out what everyone else is really thinking about? Oh, come on. I have.
And it pays off well. I don't think there was enough of it in this book though. All of the other characters get a small little section at the end of one or two chapters-the more central characters (best friends of Josie, the Leap Day Birthday girl) get one almost every chapter. But I still wished there was a little more.
I found Josie to be kind of boring, unimaginative, and having very few thoughts of her own. All the content was in all the other people's small paragraphs.
I really liked the book, though. It was fun, and had lots of secrets and stuff that you find out as you go along.
I really got attached to a few of the characters, too.
I can see myself reading it again because I would already know what the secrets were, and could go "ha ha! I have vanquished this book"
Never mind that.
The point is, this book is about as good as you'd expect it to be, which is: Pretty Good.
Read it, you wont regret it.

Summary: LEAP DAY was sooooo awesome!!!
Review: I bought this book because I really liked this authors other book, A Mango Shaped Space. This one was really different, but soooo good too! For one thing, it all takes place in one day--February 29th--It was like you were in the characters heads the whole time! Each chapter is an hour, but then it goes back over that same hour but from different characters views, so you see how everyone affects everyone else, it's hard to explain, but it's REALLY cool. I seriously did not stop reading this until my mom took it away at 1 in the morning!!!!!

Summary: Leap For It!
Review: I live in Orlando where this book takes place and it was so fun to read about my town (even though it was a fictional version of my town, believe me, my high school doesn't have a taco bell but it would be really cool if it did!). Anyway, I loved this book and didn't want it to end. My favorite parts were when she was taking her drivers test, the scavenger hunt at DisneyWorld, and the scene at the lake. The book really showed that people's real reasons for acting certain ways can be so different from what we think they are. My new fave book!

Summary: Wow, this book is awesome!
Review: I loved Leap Day! I read A Mango Shaped Space a while ago and loved it. Wendy Mass is my favorite author. Her style in this book is really good, and really gives you a deeper insight into the story. This book is very well written and interesting, too. I'd give it a 10 out of 5!

Summary: An author to watch
Review: I loved this book! It's so original and unique. In fact, I've never read any book like it.

It happens all in one day, gets inside every character's head, and takes place in Orlando, with lots of Disney references!

It was laugh-out-loud funny, wonderfully written, and suspenseful to the very last word. It was fast-paced, touching, and lots of fun.

I know this has been said before, but Wendy Mass is an author to watch!

Summary: Leap Day Is A Fun Read
Review: I made a great choice when I bought Leap Day for my fifteen-year-old niece. We're both reading the book, and I've learned that she has a lot of the same fears as Mass's main character, Josie. Mass's use of multiple points of view is very creative, and Josie's family ties and friendships ring true. These friends really care about each other and go to great lengths to keep each other's secrets! A fun read for both teens and adults.

Summary: The perfect book.
Review: I really loved this book. It's not one of the typical teen girl books with the characters all obsessed with guys and friends and popularity (and I'll admit, those books are good, too), but it tells the story of a girl's day in a really interesting way. While Josie (the main character) tells her story, we get a glimpse at the thoughts and future of those she affects during her day. I thought this book was wonderful and included just the right amount of her life and others. Also, the book isn't too eccentric that it becomes weird.
