Summary: Pictures of Hollis Woods
Review: The story that I read was Pictures of Hollis Woods. The characters in Pictures of Hollis Woods are: Hollis Woods, a 12 year old girl, who becomes a foster child, and has to change foster homes each year; Mrs. Evans, Hollis' teacher; the Mustard women, who never leaves home; Izzy, whose favorite word is frenzied; and Josie, who always wants marshmallows in her cocoa. This book takes place up in mountains in the present. This book is realistic fiction.

One of the events in this story is when Hollis gets a new foster mom and she brings Hollis to the cliff and leaves her there. The foster mother gets a really bad disease and the people are going to take Hollis away from the mother, but before that can happen Hollis does something to help the mother and herself.

My opinion of this book is that it's really interesting, but you have to really read to understand the book. My reason for why it is interesting, is because this book relates to people who really do have to stay in a foster home for almost your whole life.

Summary: Review of "Pictures of Hollis Woods"
Review: This book is a pretty good book. The two main characters are Hollis Woods, a twelve-year-old foster girl who was abandoned at the age of one hour, and Josie, a retired art teacher. It begins with a description with a picture entitled "X" and there are descriptions of other pictures every one or two chapters. In the story Hollis runs away from Josie to her last family that almost adopted her. Then she realizes she needs Josie and Josie needs her.
This book was pretty good, but had some rough spots, so I took one star away. I read this books first when I was ten, and it got me interested.
The book is for ages 9-12.

Summary: A really great book
Review: When I first bought this book, I didn't know what I was getting into! My friend suggested me it, but then another told me that she didn't really much enjoy reading it, and she found it boring, so I wasn't sure what to expect! What I found was a wonderful adventure story about a young girl named Hollis Woods!

This book is divided into 2 parts! Around every other chapter they switch from " Pictures " to " Chapters "! Picutres were about her past and her memories, and chapters went on like it was the present normal time! In the end they both combine together and create a warming ending!

I won't tell you every thing about the book, but just a simple summary, to read the whole thing I suggest you to read it yourself! The book is about a girl named Hollis Woods who's an orphan!

She was a tricky one, every home she was ever sent to she ran away from it! One home was an amazing home though, a home that toke her in and accepted her as a family member, it was the home of the Old Man and Steven! As you read the " pictures " you'll see how she loved that home and grew up in it, and how it wasn't like all the other homes she had gone to, where she was treated like a pile of dirt!

But Hollis also ran away from that home, even though she loved it dearly! Why? You'll have to read to find out! The other part of the story is about what happened after Hollis ran away! You see, Hollis was an amazing artist, she loved to draw, and so she was sent to the home of an art teacher after she ran away from the Old Man's home!

The home, belonging to Josie, she also found nice! Josie was old though, and her memory span was short, Josie forgot about school and all of those things, and even though Hollis could mighty well run away she didn't, for she knew Josie needed her! If she was to leave Josie may turn on the fire someday, forget about it, and the whole cabin ( house ) would come crashing down!

But soon the adoption agency found out about Josie's short memory, and wanted to take Hollis away! So with Josie and Josie's cat, Hollis ran, she toke as much as she could carry and ran to the Old Man's house using Josie's car, for it was winter and the Old Man and the family always went to their winter house!

They stayed there till something happen, something that changed Hollis's life.

I hope I didn't make the story sound too confusing, but fun and enjoyable to read :)
