Summary: One Slinkster Cool Read
Review: The only thing I regret is that no review written by me or any other reader could ever completely capture the beauty of this extrodinary book. It is truly one piece of literature that needs to be read to be believed.

By far Francesca Lia Block's most acclaimed novel, Dangerous Angels reads like no other piece of fiction. Poetic and beautiful it stands apart from the typical modern fiction. It is truly a book as passionate and beautiful as the author itself. By the end of the novel Weetzie Bat and the whole crew become more than just characters, they are as familiar as your own friends.

So what are you waiting for? Pick this book up and see if you aren't here too writing a five star review yourself.

Summary: ..."I'm not delirious, I'm in love!"...
Review: If you haven't enjoyed these books yet, I urge you to stop whatever you are doing and get to it... I don't even have to think about it, this is the best collection of stories ever. EVER. I mean it.

These books are just pure magic. Filled with images of magic lamps, ducks, punk boys, smart girls, music, adventure, jane mansfield obsessed witches, true love, oki dogs... oh my gosh. Just everything and more...

Remember when you use to believe in Santa and you'd sneak downstairs at like 5am? That magical amazingly rad feeling you got? These books make me feel the same way.

Another really great thing about this book is that it covers some really difficult subjects honestly and without blinking.

There are gay characters who arent defined by their sexuality or just a side kick to provide laughs. There are characters dealing with the death of a loved ones. There are Step Parents and Step Children who are learning what makes a family a family. There is the eternal quest for love and truth and happiness...

The characters in these stories aren't perfect, and are far from being unflawed. But they are who they are, no excuses, no appologies.

This book is 5 amazing stories that you shouldn't spend another day without. I couldnt say enough good things about it. Buy it today. In fact, buy two copies and give one to your best friend. They'd do the same for you I'm sure...

Summary: Make Magic and Find an Angel...*/^i^\*
Review: This book has become my bible. I think I've read it 8 times in six months. It's almost become an escape for me. When life depresses me, I read about Weetzie & Co., and I see that they go through hard times, but things turn out all right if you have love in your heart. I always feel rays of hope throughout my soul after reading it. I remember that although the world is full of pain, there is so much good in it as well. I've recommended it to about a million people, because it is the best book I have ever read. I wish I could move into their house in the canyon and live in the place where it's hot and cool, glam and slam, angels and devils, Los Angeles.

Summary: This is an amazing group of tales
Review: This book is fantastic. For many adolescents going through a hard time this book can relate. It deals with many issues of the modern world. Even though it is told in a fairy-tale way it is so realistic. Francesca Lia Block does a great job describing grim L.A. and a wonderful job picturing her characters. From Weeztie Bat to Witch Baby you'll become enchanted in these stories. Some of the stories aren't as good as the others, but they are definetly worth reading.

Summary: Amazing, inspiring, beautiful.
Review: This book has helped me through hard times in my life. The beauty, the magic, the love is expressed amazingly in 5 storys full of terror, joy, magic, beauty, releif, greif, and love, the most dangerous angel of all. The charactors are easy to relate to and are all beautiful individuals. An inspiring book for readers over the age of 10.

Summary: There are better books...
Review: My daughter brought this book home. I can see why many young girls like it, but as even my daughter noticed, it is poorly written. Kids deserve examples of fine writing, there is no need to dumb down vocabulary and grammar for them.

There are books that are better reads and are also better written. My daughter suggests the easy-to-read but well-written series Dealing with Dragons, Searching for Dragons, Calling on Dragons and so forth by Patricia C. Wrede, and I cannot disagree.

Summary: trippy
Review: I am the biggest Block fan! I have read all of her books but this one touches me the most (observe nickname). Her descriptions are so poetic and trippy that you almost find yourself lost in the flower-and-magic-filled haze of Weetzie's world. The book is almost magic in itself and is so deep that it seems new to me every time I read it. And in a world full of things so hard, cold, watered-down, and emotionless, this book stands out as one of the few that can bring us to a mirror of ourselves and the soul of the world. A must-read!

Review: This book was reccomended to me by a friend and its the most beutiful tale I have ever read. The way Block weaves mystical happenings with the dark and twisted side of LA is increadibly wonderful. Ive heard her books described from everything to Adventure to Modern fantasy i say its just terrific

Summary: Incomparable
Review: Block writes in a world entirely of her own, and that's wonderful. She is the prose equivalent of an early Joni Mitchell album, full of radiant images that make us perceive the world around us in an entirely new way. I am a big Young Adult fiction nut, and I think these books are as good as any. They merge real issues into a fantasy fabric with everything else, and the result is astonishing.

Block also shows how there are many ways to feel different and isolated from the world around us, and the nature of love and acceptance. I can't say I am too crazy of her depiction of New York as cold and ugly, that's just too easy. But that minor poinr aside, I think these books have a lot to say to everybody about life in this crazy modern world, and how there really is such a thing as magic. Of note to me was the last book, "Baby Be-Bop" which successfully takes on every other YA book about coming out, and leaves them in the dust. Imagine a world in which gay people are told that their love is valid and wonderful! And even better, nobody dies in a car accident. If I saw Block, I would give her a huge hug for the contribution she made into my life with this book. I was in tears by the end of Be-Bop, because, after 28 years, i finally heard that it's perefctly fine to be who I am. Thank you Francesca. The 4 other stories are quite wonderful as well. Enjoy everybody.

Summary: A slinkster book!
Review: I absolutely love this book! I just finished reading it, for the second time, and I'm sure I'll read it again! Weetzie, her family and friends brought tears to my eyes, and a smile to my mouth through all the chapters. Take my advice, and read this book!
