Summary: unique .... no, really
Review: All really good books are unique, of course, but most at least permit comparison with other books you can say, "If you like Harry Potter, then try ..." The Weetzie Bat books really are like nothing else I've ever seen. They show Hollywood the way it would be if all the magic were real and all the dreams came true, then people it with the sort of fey characters who could only live in that world. None of which is to say there aren't some universal truths here!

Summary: Like a Fairy Tale!...
Review: Its great to have the entire "Weetzie Bat" series in one book, and they are all SO good. They are written so beautifully, and you can't help but get caught up in the characters' stories and lives,as they grow, because all the characters are so lovable. These are all really unique and wonderful books, and I love how the author doesn't waste time in these books talking about things that don't matter in the plot, everything in these books matters. I would recommend these books to everyone, because I don't think I'll ever read anything like these again, and its a great experience.

Summary: Loved it Baby!
Review: I have read all if the Weetzie Bat books as individual books and loved them all. i wanted to get them, but there were so many that it would be wau too [costly] for my meager budget. well, when i found out that all these great books were combined into one, my heart leapt for joy. I've owned this book for two years and i still love reading it.

Summary: really 4 1/2 stars
Review: This is a magical collection! The writing is poetic, lyrical. All of the books are extremely romantic, but also encourage true individuality. My favorite character is Witch Baby, who is unique in most fiction about teen girls. The reason this didn't get 5 stars is that the last novella in the book isn't as convincing. Overall, something to treasure.

Summary: EVEN MORE MAGIC THAN MAGIC ITSELF
Review: Francesca Lia Block is the most amazing writer of our times. She must have a magic pen or something.
Dangerous Angels is a tapestry of reality and imagination. The reality of the world we live in- the good and the bad, but also the fantasy and imagination of the world we would like to live on. weetzie Bat and her best friend Dirk wish to find their soulmates. They both do, and they learn about their world, themselves and other people along the way to form a family.

Summary: Something's missing...
Review: Block's stories receive wonderful praise, but after reading just the first book in this collection, I've got to ask "Why?" Yes, the prose is beautiful, sprinkled with sentences that are magic. But I put the book down feeling like something was lacking. The writing is too detached from the characters and story, choosing instead to focus on fantastical descriptions of a picture-perfect Hollywood where clouds are made of cotton candy. I found it hard to relate to Weetzie, Dirk, etc. when I only had the briefest glimpse of who they are. They start in high school, then are suddenly living on their own, with boyfriends, having babies. How did that happen? I wanted some more insight into the characters to make them seem more like real, relatable people, not puppets controlled by the author with no inner thoughts or feelings.

Summary: Whimsical Yet Realistic
Review: This book is probably one of the most fascinating ones I've ever read just because of the sheer way it is written. It is not written like most books and it often seems as if the writer is untrained yet they weave a spell. The book is based on realism yet it turns into these fantastical things like fairies, angels, and spirits! It is much easier also to read the 5 books in a row rather than trying to read one and then buy the next one ect.

Summary: Spectacular
Review: This book was great! I loved it. This book was the biggest book I have read but worth it. All the characters were well planed out and seemed to bring out the best in eachother. I couldn't put it down I was hooked on it. I couldn't stop page by page this book tells a great story.

Summary: Incredible!!!!
Review: This is the best series ever written! Weetzie Bat is the story of a 17 year old, with a touch of magic and LA. Next is Witch Baby, Weetzies sort-of-baby, insearch of love. Then Cherokee bat and the Goat Guys, a group of confused and incredible teans. Missing angel Juan, Witch baby, and hert love, Angel Juan, about what love really means + NYC. Then we come to the last book in the series, Baby Bebop, This is a flashback on Dirks childhood.
I recommend this book to anone who loves a good read, with some love and magic. I dont reccomend this to people under 11 years old. I love this book! You will too!

Summary: Rosebud Sunglasses
Review: This is one of the best books I have ever read. Magical, Francesca pulls you along for a ride with a talent for story telling. I could hardly wait to finish this book so that I could start to read it all over again from the beginning. So colorful, magical and creative, I could hardly put it down. My all time favourite author. At 22 I can easily identify with the characters and stories feeling in place and at home with Weetiz Bat, Cherokee and Witch Baby. I would recommend anyone to read this book!!!
