Summary: A Well-written Tale of Friendship
Review: Talia has finally achieved the rank of Herald, and must now prove herself in the field for a year-and-a-half. She is partnered with Kris, a handsome young Herald. As she sets out, seeds of self-doubt are sown in Talia's mind when Kris talks to her about her unusual Heraldic Gift of Empathy (the ability to sense emotions and even manipulate them) as a favor to his power-hungry uncle. The doubt eats away at her, slowly eroding her control over her Gift, and unleashing a dangerous force that Talia must learn to control if she is to assume her place as Queen's Own Herald...

"Arrow's Flight" is the second book in Mercedes Lackey's The Heralds of Valdemar Trilogy. I greatly enjoyed this book. It wasn't quite as good as the first and third books in this trilogy, but I think it sets up the stunning conclusion in "Arrow's Fall" absolutely perfectly. I found "Arrow's Flight" to be a much more emotional journey than its predecessor, "Arrows of the Queen." It's a wonderful tale of a growing friendship. Talia and Kris's interactions are realistic and entertaining.

However, I would not recommend this book to younger readers that might be uncomfortable reading about sex. The sex is minimal (one or two scenes), but I was almost taken aback by its presence. Be forewarned. Other than that, I thoroughly enjoyed my experience reading this book.

Summary: Good....but the first was better!
Review: The Arrows books are great, I have read all three of them 2 times, but I like the second one better! The Arrows Flight book made my emotions go haywire. My favorite park was when Talia and Kris found out about Talias gift and it going rouge. Also when Kris gets big Egoed and thinks Talia is fixated on him. Talia ends up kicking his butt in the river. Dirk and Kris are so close that he just didn't want to hurt her, now he really doesn't! Altogether I loved it it had adventure, romance, and mystery, my three favorites! I hope you read it too!!!

Summary: Good but not great
Review: This book was actually around my seventh Lackey book, and I can truthfully say, I was not impressed. First of all, I really dislike the amount of sex in her books--because there are so many young people reading her books, around the preteen or early teenage years that would not feel comfortable reading those type of content. But she has gotten better since the Mage Storms series and her new Owl books are very young-reader friendly. Second. When Talia and Dirk were snowed in, well that just kind of dragged along, but if you are used to Lackey's writing it's pretty normal. (if you hate that kind of stuff I don't think you will like The Mage Storms very much because it's ALL that kind of writing) This book was slightly better than the AofQ one in that Talia actually got REAL... not the Miss Goody-Too-Shoes that never did anything wrong. But it IS one of Mercedes's early books and I have to give her credit for doing that well early on, but she does get more realism into her characters later on. Overall, it's a good read.

Summary: This book is great!
Review: This is the 2nd in the trilogy. It's about how Talia learns to control her very odd Gift with the help of the beautiful Chris. It's defanetly worth checking into, but read Arrows of the Queen, the first book, before this one!! =)

Summary: Wonderful, enchanting...
Review: This was a book that kept me captivated for a long time, until I finished it. Definitely worth a long look. Misty has done a wonderful job writing this. If you are reading this, Mrs. Lackey, congrats on a job well done!

Summary: Bravo Talia!!
Review: What a wonderful story of friendship and overcoming powerful obstacles! I couldn't help but feel the emotions of the book. Couldn't wait to get into the next book.

Summary: typos...
Review: When I spend money on an item, I expect that item to be worth the money I paid for it. While I loved the story, and read it in one sitting, the typos were distracting at best and downright annoying at worst.

Someone else pointed out the use of "Skif" and "Skiff" In addition there was "agrin" instead of "again", "to" instead of "two." Exclamation points instead of the letter "l" (As in the word well was spelled "we!!")

It's worth the read, just don't spend money on it...
