Summary: bad writing
Review: I was exited to read this book as I thought it was an interesting premise. However I was disappointed. The story line was flawed and characters were introduced for no apparent reason. Conflict was resolved in a confusing and simplistic fashion.

Summary: Absolutely #1
Review: I extremely hope this review will get posted (a lot of mine haven't). Anyhow, I read this book when it was first released and have since then waited (impatiently I might add) for the next ones. I can't tell which of the 4 is better, as a matter of fact I've only read the 1st 2 (waiting for paperback editions). These are absolutley the BEST books ever written. They by-pass Harry Potter by a long shot. Barron was ingenious to put it in 1st person. But what really got me was the inward as well as outward struggle. When you see Merlin, you think of a powerful wizard which nothing can effect. These books tell that differently and explain a lot of things in his earlier life. THEY ARE THE BEST BOOKS FOR ANYONE OF ANY AGE.....BUY THEM NOW!

Summary: Wow!
Review: When a mysterious boy and a young woman gets thrown from the sea, hitting his head on a rock and getting a lifelong concussion, the adventures begin. Emryes isn't sure of himself. He is always taunted by this question: 'Who am I? And...what did I come from?'. He tries to ask Brawen, the first person he saw from as far as here can remember(and also his guardian), but she tells him nothing, at least nothing that helps. Then one day, he discovers he has powers, powers that were very stong, and also very dangerous; powers that costed one boys his life and also Emryes' sight. Emryes decides he will never use them again. Soon after, he goes on a mission to find himself (With his 'Second Sight') and finds a dangerous mission before himself, meeting new friends and learning new things on the way...but when evil strikes, will he be forced to use his dreaded powers? Also, will he survive?

Summary: Arthurian Legend Gets a Wonderful New Spin
Review: I met TA Barron at a book signing, where he read the first passage from this book, and he told it in a way that gave me goosebumps. This master storyteller has taken a legend that has been retold and retold and retold and put his own fabulous spin on it, making it seem fresh and new. The characters, no matter how fantastic their powers may be, seem real, as if you've known them for a long time and they're telling you about something that happened to them. The language sounds like the master storytellers of old, rich and lyrical and delicious. The plot is exciting and you can't stop reading once you've started. This is some of the best fantasy out there. Don't miss out on it.

Summary: Fincayra here I come!
Review: This was a great book! I'm really glad that somebody finally wrote a book about "Merlin" as a kid.

After having the accident with his powers, (wich cost him his sight) Emrys is desperate to find out who he really is and where he's from. He leaves his home and starts searching for his home, with the aid of his second sight.

After a long sea trip he arrives at Fincayra. Fincayra is a magicial place with talking trees, giant spiders, warrior goblins and many more odd things. Emrys heads towards The Shrouded castle with Rhia, Shim and Truoble.

The book was awesome! Very interesting and exciting. I recommend this book to any fantasy lover or any other reader for that matter! Go to the store and buy it. You will love it!

Summary: Merlin flys
Review: The Lost Years of Merlin is a great book for everyone. I was suprised by how good it was after sceptically buying it at a local Borders bookstore. It truly shows real human characteristics and emotions. Emrys is a character many people can relate to. He has a grace and spirit that is uncommon in most stories. T.A. Barron does a great job of showing a completely different side of the already popular myth of historys greatest wizard, Merlin.

Summary: WARNING: YOUR EYES WILL BE STUCK YO THESE PAGES
Review: When I first borrowed this book from the library,I thought Merlin was just some old, serious, wizard guy.I COULD HAVE SLAPPED MYSELF! These are one of the most humorous,cliff-hanging,touching,page-wetting, words I have ever glued my eyes on. I do admit the story is similar to the Prydain Chronicles, but what the heck. What I mean to say is:READ THE BOOK!
