Summary: I can't believe she wrote this!
Review: I couldn't believe this book was written by L. J. Smith. Her other books are really good, but this was horrible! Gillian is weak, wimpy, and superficial. She only cares about poplularity and looks. And then, one day, she cuts her hair and puts on makeup, and suddenly she's the most popular girl in the school! Gimme a break! Kids aren't THAT shallow. David is stupid (he cheated on the SATs and fell for Gillian the moment he saw her with short hair and makeup). It's not even dangerous that he and Gillian are soulmates because Gillian doesn't know she's a witch until well into the book. Angel is a devious betrayer, David is stupid and boring, and Gillian is a wimp. Not a good combination. I much preferred LJS's other books to this one.

Summary: What happened to the Night World?
Review: I didn't like this book as much as the others. I still think it was good. But suddenly L. J. Smith sticks in a spirit from the in-between place. That has nothing to do with the Night World. It doesn't deal a lot with Gillian's witchcraft. In fact, she doesn't even know she's a witch until about the middle of the book. One thing I liked was Ash's cameo role as the knight in shining armor, coming to rescue the helpless human.

Summary: One of the better in the Night World series.
Review: I don't know anything bad I can say abouth any of her books. They're all just so wonderful. She intertwines romance and horror so flawlessly that you don't realize you're reading a bit of both. In the book Gillian dies one day and goes to the state of "limbo" where she meets Angel. Throughout the whole book he helps her to gain self-confidence and get her dream date. He also helps her to discover her witchy heritage. I would recommend this to anyone and everyone, not just young adults

Summary: Gillian and Angel---Dark Angel
Review: I just discovered the Dark World and I have to say that I love them, but Dark Angel was not my favorite, there was nothing to do with the Dark World at all until the very end and I just sat there and kept asking myself..."what does this have to do with the Dark World" Love the rest of her books but this one was not the best.

Summary: Very Good
Review: I like this book. It was good, but different from the rest of the books in the Night World series. But that's because Gillian is a lost witch. I guess I'm one of the very few people who liked this book (I feel so special!). E-mail me if you want to discuss LJ Smith's books.

Summary: It seems like I may be one of the only people who like it.
Review: I liked this book. Call me crazy but I thought it was great. Gillian may not have been the normal female character but she was still pretty cool. David sounded like a god and Angel who was really Gary was like ghost of my dreams. Plus for an added bonus we got to see Ash again and he saved Gillian's life even though he thought she was human. Which means he's trying to good and slay dragons for his soulmate. Yeah I guess it wasn't totally Ms. Smith's normal book but I loved it. It was the first time we heard about the lost Harman babies which came into play in WhitchLight. Did anybody else notice that Gillian and Ilianna are like second cousins? Also the Night world was always there lurking in the background. Angel was the night world. The bad guy, the dark one. I've read this book over seven times and it always gets better. If you've got comments email me. ~Shadow~

Summary: I was slightly dissapointed.
Review: I love all of L. J. Smith's books but this one was different somehow. It wasn't really connected to the Night World at all. It was almost terrifying with the idea of an angel who wasn't so angelic. I think this is probably a great book for some people but I didn't really like it. I did however like the part where they mention Ash (Daughters of Darkness). I would have to say that so far, my favourite is The Chosen followed by Daughters of Darkness and then Witchlight and Huntress.

Summary: definitely not her best...
Review: I love L.J. Smith's other books, but this one wasn't anywhere near up to her previous standards. It was a good book, but it really didn't have too much to do with the Night World. The best part was when she encounters Ash (he is my favorite character). When are we going to hear more about him? !

Summary: It was good but what happened to the best?
Review: I love the series, I love the author, I love all her books, but what happened. It was a good book and worth reading but it needed more romance, more danger, more Night World, and definitely MORE SUSPENCE. I just bought the book to add to my selection but i think she should stick with what she does best....Night World not ghost stories.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: My favriote in the series (so far)
Review: I really enjoyed this book and Gillian's story mostly because she's someone I can relate to. Like Gillian I was never popular, and very shy. And in this story, Gillian is given the chance to have the popularity that she's always wanted, the guy she's always wanted, and something almsot magical. I loved this book and reccomend it to anyone who loves the Night World Series.
