Summary: Dreamland
Review: Dreamland is one of the best books that I've ever read.
Caitlin's life is falling apart, her sister runs away, and her boyfriend beats her. She doesn't want to leave him because she thinks she's in love with him.
I like this book because it keeps you wondering what is going to happen next. I also like this book because you can put yourself into Caitlin's shoes. You won't put this book down.
Dreamland is a great book. I would love to read some more of Sarah Dessen's books.

Summary: I couldn't stop reading it
Review: I just picked this book at random one day at the library, and I am so glad that I did. I couldnt stop reading it. I was so into the book, the story and the characters. I loved how the details were written out and how they characters have deep personalities. Rodgerson was my favorite character. Like many other people in these reviews say, you are *sposed* to not like him, but I felt so sorry for him. There were so many ways I could relate to both Caitlin and Rodgerson. I like how the book is more *real*.. I don't like books that have the perfect girl with the perfect guy and the whole thing.. This book had Caitlin, who was not her sister, she was trying to be accepted as who she was, and Rodgerson, who has the bad boy appeal, but then you get to see the sweet side too. I can't even describe why I like this book so much, but I HIGHLY recommend it.

Summary: Dreamland by Sarah Dessen
Review: In Dreamland by Sarah Dessen, Dessen uses different literary devices to enhance her writing in one of my favorite books she wrote, Dreamland. Dessen uses direct characterization in order to introduce the characters as well as to let you get to know them as if you had known them your whole life. She introduces each character by telling you exactly what they are wearing, every physical detail, and a little hint about there past. As the novel proceeds, you learn every thought of each character almost as if you are in the body playing their part. For example, we never actually meet Cassandra her perfect older sister, however the author lets us know Cass by letting us see not only Caitlin's view on her, the both of her parents as well. Slowing we can piece together the outline of what kind of character Cass is. Dessen uses Cass's description as a tool to describe Caitlin's character and motivations. Throughout the whole book you learn that all the characters are fighting to find out who they really are. In the end their actions are what they were in the beginning, but they accommodate the lives of the other characters.
The book shows the true life struggles of people trying to find their true identities, and the destruction of a women's mind when she plays the game of love. I enjoyed this book because I was pulled into the story right away. I felt as if I were living with Caitlin O'Koren and laughed and cried along with her till the very last page.

Summary: Eye Opening Book
Review: In a rather short yet compelling novel Dessen again has you fall in love with the characters and make it almost impossible to put down the book. The story follows a year in the life Of Caitlin O'Keron, a high school junior stuck in the shadow of a perfect older sister and in an absuive relationship.

Throught out the novel you fall in love with Caitlin and Rogerson, her absuive but at times loving boyfriend. You will cringe, laugh, cry and sigh through out this book and will be sorry when it ends.

A must read for teenage girls!

Summary: WOW!
Review: You know when you put reading a book as your first priority it must be good. I just finished Dreamland today. Sarah Dessen did an amazing job of writing this. I'm one of those people who thinks they would never be in an abusive relationship but this made me see and feel how easy it is to fall into one. Dessen showed Rogerson's character brilliantly and I too practically fell in love with him. I can't describe how good this book is. Me being Caitlin's age, it made me much more aware of just certain things in life. I now understand abusive relationships better. All the issues with her family and friends were also very compelling. Dessen made every part of this book good to the point where it didn't even feel like I was reading but that I was living it.

Summary: The greatest book ive read in a long time....
Review: I read a lot of books..and some are good..some are great..some are okay..I would rate this book under the GREAT section. Its about this girl Caitlin who hasnt been popular and never really considered pretty seems to all of a sudden be wanted by guys. She is small and skinny. She trys out for the chearleading team with her best friend Rina and she makes it. On a way to a party after a game she sees a guy "Rogerson". Hes mysterious and hot. His hair makes him seem wild. Caitlin sees something in him and when she sees him at the party she goes off with him. Their relationship starts quickly with hardly little talking and more kissing. Rogerson and Caitlin become boyfriend and girlfriend. He influences her to take pot and she is always spending time with him. Her parents dont realize how serious she feels about him because they are to worried about thier other daughter "Cassandra" to worry about Caitlin. Cass ran away with her boyfriend after being extremely popular and smart and was supossed to go off to Yale. Caitlin knows how important time is to Rogerson. He doesnt like being made to wait. So shes always on time. But then she noticed Rina was crying so she took time to talk it over with her. When she got back Rogerson had given up on waiting. She saw him at her award ceremony later however. When she went out into his car and tried to explain he hit her. From then on he hits her for little things. Caitlin is lost in a world of violence and nobody notices it. She cant tell anybody. And she still loves Rogerson. He is so gentle and kind and nice, but then he would lash out. Caitlin tries but she just couldnt deal with it anymore...........

i cant give away wut happens..n i wont tell anymore..so just read the book..its great...youll love it....in it you kinda still feel sympathetic towards Rogerson and as Caitlin falls in love with him...you fall in love with him. Sarah Dessen has really captured the truth behind why teenagers dont leave their abusive partners and its sad. They just want to be loved..and needed...

Summary: Very good book!
Review: This book is about a girl named Caitlin O'Koren who is struggling to recover from the recent absence of her older sister, Cass, who set out to be with her boyfriend instead of going to Yale. Because Caitlin is only a few years younger than Cass, it is hard for her to survive without her older sister to look up to, but Caitlin takes this opportunity to try to find out who she really is. On the journey to finding herself, Caitlin does many things that she has never done before, and things that she knows Cass would never do. One of these things is going out with Rogerson Briscoe, a boy of whom no one approves of. She begins to fall in love with him, though, and is soon in way over her head.
I thought that Dreamland was an excellent book. There were many reasons why I enjoyed it so much. My first reason was the way it was written. I really liked the way the author had you find out a little more about each character's life in each chapter, as opposed to telling everything about them in one paragraph. There were sub-stories that were interwoven into the book, like why Caitlin's sister, Cass, left home like she did, and what happened to some of the people that Caitlin met on her journey. This really added to the story because it made you want to keep reading to find out more. Another thing I liked about the story was how every person had a distinct difference between him or her, and how Sarah Dessen explained this. There were Boo and Stewart, the new age hippies that had been friends with the O'Koren family ever since Cass was born, Corinna and her husband David, who were always running out of money, and most importantly, Rogerson, who had some dark secrets of his own. I also liked how intriguing the author made the story. Each chapter had a new twist to it. I never felt bored while I was reading Dreamland. The last reason that I liked this book was how humorous it was. Some parts of this story were quite intense, but the author always managed to put in a little joke here and there. At some points, I even found myself laughing aloud.
The only thing that I did not like about Dreamland was how easily Caitlin was pushed around in this book. She never spoke up when she disagreed with something. This might have been the author's intent, but it would have been nice for Caitlin to have one thing that she felt adamant about, and that she spoke up for. Even with her best friend, it seemed as though she never spoke her mind.
For the most part, I thought that Dreamland was an excellent book. I enjoyed how the author explained the difference and detail of each character, how interesting the storyline was, and the way Sarah Dessen managed to make jokes here and there, no matter how intense the book was getting. I would highly recommend this book to anyone looking for a good read. On a scale of one to ten, I would give Dreamland eight and a half.

Summary: Amazing...
Review: "Dreamland" by Sarah Dessen was amazing. I finished the book moments ago and I know I'm going to be left with a feeling of astonishment for a while. I haven't read a book that touched me as much as this one did, in a long time. I reccommend this book to everyone!

Summary: GREAT BOOK!!!
Review: Caitlin, a 16-year old girl's world crumbles after her perfect, loving older sister runs away with her love interest instead of going to College. Caitlin felt lost and confused until she met Rogerson Biscoe. After her encounter Caitlin knew there was something different about Rogerson.
Strange, sleepy Rogerson, with his long brown dreads and brilliant green eyes, had seemed to Caitlin too wonderful. With him she could be anybody, not just the second-rate shadow of her older sister, Cass. Caitlin wanders in a dreamland of drugs and a nightmare of Rogerson's sudden fists, lost in her search for herself.
Caught in a of love and need, Caitlin must frantically manage her every action and word to avoid being hit by the hands that once seemed so gentle and caring. Shame keeps her from confiding in everyone that she knows loves her, especially Cass, her brilliant older sister, whose own flight from home had seemed to point the way.
Caitlin finds herself stuck in the middle of drugs, alcohol, and in between Rogerson 's fist. Caitlin's life becomes even harder as time goes on. Caitlin's whole world is flipped upside down In Dreamland.
Dreamland is a phenomenal book that all teenage girls should read, written by Sarah Dessen.

Summary: A True Feeling of Understanding
Review: I read this book in two days. I couldn't put it down, I wouldn't put it down. Sarah Dessen potrays the feelings of teenage girls perfectly in all of her books. It's as if she puts herself in my shoes and tells my story. I cried as I read her telling the story of an abusive relationship and learned never to let anyone do something like that to me. Caitlin is a girl that we can all relate with.
