Rating: Summary: Time Stops for No Mouse: An adventurous fantasy Review: While reading Time Stops for No Mouse by Michael Hoeye it helps largely if you have an easy time imagining and picturing things in your head, because the characters are animals and they do some hard to picture things. In this mystery/fantasy story, mouse watchmaker Hermux Tantamoq gets tangled up in a mystery involving the potion of youth. The event that starts it all is the arrival of acclaimed airplane flier Linka Perflinger in his watch shop. She leaves behind a beautiful watch which Tantamoq carefully repairs, and which Miss Perflinger never comes back for. Tantamoq is worried about her and starts a search, and at Linka's house he finds the diary of Dr. Dandiffer. Dandiffer was the mouse on the expedition to find the formula for youth, and his diary hints that the evil and sinister Dr. Hiril Mennus has kidnapped Linka and is trying to steal the youth formula for marketing purposes. Tantamoq sets out on a journey to find Linka and the formula for youth, and to stop Dr. Mennus with his friend Pup the reporter. Little does he know about the strange surprises that await him on his quest for truth. I thought that this book was very good because of all of the intricate detail and description given to help you form a mental picture of what is happening in your mind. The only main fault that I could see is that at some points in the story it gets just a little too complicated and out of this world to understand and enjoy properly. If I had to rate this book on a scale of 1 to 10, I would give it a 7.5.
Rating: Summary: You Gotta Read It!!! Review: Michael Hoeye is an outstandingly clever writer. The way he wrote "Time Stops for No Mouse" made me feel like it was a real adventure happening right now in 2002. It was soooooooo realistic, clever, hilarious and exciting that I could not put it down. Even my Mom liked it, and she's a tough critic. The author is so good at describing the characters that I felt like I knew them. It is CLEARLY one of the best books I have ever read! I can't wait to read the next one.
Rating: Summary: A great new book! Review: Hermux Tantamoq is just your normal average everyday mouse. That is until the day Ms. Linka Perflinger comes rushing into his house, wanting her watch repaired ASAP. Hermux, sensing her worry and also being rather attracted to this young mouse, fixes it quickly and waits for her the next day to come it. Unfortunatly he never shows up. Days later a rather nasty looking rat comes up to his shop and askes for Ms. Perfllinger's watch. Hermux, being smart, refuses to give it to him and follows him to Ms. Perfllinger's house. WHen he get's there he's shocked to see what's going on. He finds himself drawn into a mystery so complex that he dosen't know who to trust or what to do. All he knows is he has to solve it quick before Ms. Perfllinger and possibly himself meets a dredful fate.I found this book to be very entertaining and funny. I've been a fan of all animal worlds since I first read the Redwall series and this book dose not dissapoint me. The mystery was exciting and hard to solve. There's a surprise near the end that I Never saw coming. If you're a fan of mystery, suspence, and worlds where animals take the place of humans, read this book! I would reccomend it to anyone. This is a book for everyone. There's also another book in the series coming out in September that I can't wait for. Happy Reading!
Rating: Summary: Great for all ages! Review: I'm a teacher who discovered this book during my Christmas vacation last year. I fell in love with the characters and knew I had to share it with my students. (I teach 7th & 8th graders.) My kids and I read the story together and they LOVED it. The action is well-paced and makes you want to keep reading. If you are a teacher, I highly recommend sharing this novel with your kids. And if your students are younger--read it aloud to them! I had my kids design game boards based on the characters and the events in the book. Their projects were a huge success because they were so motivated by the interesting plot and characters. There are some fantastic twists and turns to keep the reader intrigued. The sequal to this book is due out this fall and my 7th graders are begging me to "let" us read it in 8th grade next year. I highly recommend this book for ALL ages! You won't be disappointed.

Rating: Summary: Time Stops for No Mouse Review:   Hermunx Tantamoq is a regular mouse. He has a regular life, lives in an ordinary apartment in the city of Pinchester, and he works hard at his job, fixing watches. One day, Linka Perflinger, mouse pilot, walks into Hermunx's shop, and Hermunx's life becomes totally twisted around. For one thing, Hermunx is practically head-over-heels in love with Linka. Then Linka has to go and mysteriously disappear, so of course, Hermunx must set out to find her. He runs into schemes and people he thought he would never run into. For instance, a wacky cosmetics tycoon, an evil plastic surgeon, and a huge army of evil lab rats. Hermunx is now running against the clock to save Linka, and he realizes, too late, that time stops for no mouse!    Although I could never relate to the wacky characters in this book, this is definitely one of my favorite books of all time. I love all the crazy characters, and it kept me at the edge of my seat! I couldn't put the book down. I always needed to find out what would happen next! I recommend this book to almost anybody, because it's funny, scary, suspenseful, sad and happy all at the same time! I think anybody would enjoy Time Stops for No Mouse. ...
Rating: Summary: Cute and Fuzzy Review: Watchmaker Hermux Tantamoq, is a mouse living in Pinchester, a rather cosmopolitan city of various birds and rodents living and working happily together. Hermux leads a normal, predictable life with disagreements with the disagreeable female across the hall, clock repairs for housewives with naughty children, daily donuts and coffee for the 10 am snack and evenings spent with his pet ladybug. That is he did, until Ms. Linka Perflinger, Adventuress, enters his shop one day for an emergency watch repair. Hermux is smitten and when she doesn't appear at the scheduled time to pick up the watch, he becomes worried. With his attempts to make sure that she is okay, Hermux becomes involved in a mystery of kidnapping, health potions and murder. He must step out of his comfortable existence, and take risks like never before if he is to save Ms. Perflinger--and himself. On the surface, this is a cute novel with cute fuzzy little rodents and birds living and working in a fantasy world, wearing clothes and eating at restaurants. The mystery itself is nothing fantastic, with the outcome obvious to a mature reader, though not necessarily so to the intended age group. Hermux himself was an appealing character, rich with emotions and life. The villains were much less so, resembling any cartoon villain. The world Hoeye created for Hermux was a sweet, comfortable world--a little too unreal, trite and happy for my enjoyment. My biggest complaint is not unique to this book and is one that I share with many other readers--this unfortunate tendency towards unpronounceable names in fantasy/sci fi books. Why? I mean, really, WHY? With this book in particular, it made out-loud reading difficult and added another layer of triteness to what was otherwise a not bad book. Though I did not find it completely satisfying, I think that my ten year old daughter and those of her age group would probably find it delightful with just enough mystery and suspense.
