Rating: Summary: Roswell a great book for Teens Review: This book is about Isabel, Max, and Michael being a little diffrent from ordinary teenagers at their highschool. Little did Maria and Liz know that they are about to be in to this big secret. That Max, Isabel, and Michael had survived the Roswell crash in 1959. The were incubated in a a hard substance and were put up for adoption at a young age. Now still living in Rosewell, New Mexico they want to learn more about their past lives and meet their real parents. Until Sheriff Valenti comes to town and has a wierd feeling about these three teenagers. How will Maria and Liz handle this news when they find out this big secret? How will they react? Read the book and you will find out! I think that this book is a most read for all people that enjoy the TV show on Wednesday nights. If you read the books you will have a better understanding of the plot of the show. If you love Science Fiction books this is also a most read. But I think that for now I'll stick with the TV show.
Rating: Summary: And so Roswell is born.. Review: I'm a die-hard Roswell fan so it's hard for me not to like this book, but people who do not watch the series will like it too. The book is aimed at a young teen audience and because of that, the writing can be very simplistic. I still enjoyed it. I didn't need an elaborate writing style to evoke the world of Roswell for me. Metz has wit and writes her characters very well. One of the wonderful things about the Roswell High books is the humor. You will never run out of one-liners! The romance and sci-fi and action elements are balance perfectly - by the end you will have no choice but to buy the 2nd one. Trust me...I tried to resist, but ended up getting all ten. (I suggest buying 2 or 3 books at a time...you'll get through them pretty fast.)If you love the TV show you will love this book. There are a few differences such as name changes or the Pod-squad's mythology. The only thing that I didn't like was the fact that Max Evans had blonde hair! (I read it and change it to brown in my mind - I know...what can I say? I'm a fan.) All in all it's a great read - A lot of fun.
Rating: Summary: The Outsider, A review Review: This was an exceptionally good book. It has the perfect mix of mystery, adventure, sci-fi and romance. Liz Ortecho lives an ordinary life in Roswell, the site of a UFO crash. One day while working as a waitress in her father's "Alien" Cafe two men get in a fight. One of them pulls out a gun and aims it at the other man. Threatened, the other man tackles the gunner who fires. But instead of shooting his target the man shoots Liz. Panicked Liz's best friend Maria tries to stop the bleeding when Max Evans, a long time friend, pushes her aside. Max Touches the wound and in a few seconds Liz is fine, not dying like before. In fact the only way you can tell she was shot was a hole in her uniform. How did Max heal Liz? The only way to find out is to read the book.
Rating: Summary: an amazing start to ROSWELL Review: After watching the ROSWELL series from TV,i just couldn't stop myself to read the books as well,THE OUTSIDER is the first book of the whole series, starting from how Max was discovered his alien status by Liz,and the relationship between Liz and Max.
The TV series were great of course, but the books are far more better,it's marvellous and irresisitible!once i started to read,i couldn't stop! You¡¦ll have a better understanding of the story rather than watching TV.Reading the book, you would find more interesting than watching the TV,as Melinda Metz(the writer)can use the exactly right words in creating a scene that helps readers feel like they were just right there too!and the characters are all very impressive to me, this is not only science fiction book but a mix of romance, action and drama.I highly recommend this book to all the readers who are first looking for a sci-fic book to read,as this is not a normal one,it won¡¦t make you bored but make you addicted to it!!
Rating: Summary: A Must- Read Series! Review: The Roswell High series by Melinda Metz is a must read! The Outsider, the first book of ten, is the start to all of the excitment and romance that is prominent in each of Metz's Roswell books. The series revolves around six friends: Max, Liz, Maria, Michael, Alex, and Isabel. Max, Michael, and Isabel are aliens. Throughout the series the six friends form a family-like connection that goes through never-ending adventures and mishaps. New characters are intruduced here and there but in the core of Roswell High lies The Outsider, the Wilde One, the Seeker, the Vanished, the Scientist, and a Rebel. There are romances along the way too. Max and Liz. Liz and Adam. Isabel and Alex. Isabel and Michael. Isabel and Trevor. Isabel and Nikolas. Michael and Maria. Michael and Cameron- Just to name a few! However, these romances are within all ten books so don't worry! Roswell high is not a soap opera. Ms. Metz doesn't overload the romance or the science fiction. There is just the right amount of each in all of her Roswell books. But to find out who's true love is whom in the end- you'll just have to read! Each Roswell book is about 170 pages and each has about the same literary structure: In the begining of the current book the conflict from the last book is more-or-less solved. Then, a new plot and conflcit arises to which a plan is formed. The end of the current book partially solves the conflcit only to leave with a cliffhanger ending. And then so on. For readers who hate bad endings or unhappy finishes- This is your series! Roswell High, although has it's dark moments as all books do, ends in complete delight! I really reccomend all ten of the Roswell High books! Melinda Metz is an amazing author!
Rating: Summary: Over and Over Review: "The Outsider" was an awsome I could not put it down. It is really interesting how they mix alien life and human life together. And it is very action filled. I would read it a second time just to get the juice going. And the characters are very intersesting and the author Melinda Metz is a very good writer. I would say that readers anywhere from 12-25 could read this cause it is interesting.
Rating: Summary: An amazing way to start a book series and TV show! Review: I saw the great show "Roswell" on the WB and just had to see if the book series was just as great. It was I could not put it down once I started the same thing happened with Roswell high #2. I like Max better with dark hair and eyes on the TV show, rather than him being blond with blue eyes in the book series, it makes him look more mysterious and loving. The book series differs from the show, But I like it just as much. Books are always different from the movies or TV shows they are made into. THe changes are usually bad but I don't believe they could have found a better cast for Roswell-I especially don't think anyone but Shiri Appleby and Jason Behr could have played Liz and Max, respectfully. I cannot wait to read the rest of the books and continue to watch the show. i really like the book covers with the Roswell tv show cast on them. Read this amazing book and watch the show. Melinda Metz is a great wrtier because she puts you right their and makes you feel what the characters are feeling.
Rating: Summary: I read this LONG before the tv series existed Review: I have read and reread this book series since way before there was even talk of a TV show! I love these books! And quite honestly, I was completely disappointed with the show. The show changed the entire story, and in my opinion, destroyed it. So I advise everyone to read the book series bc it is FAR BETTER than the poor excuse of a show the WB put on.
Rating: Summary: Starting all over again Review: The Cafe.. The Shooting... The images through Max's head as he healed Liz... everything so clear and lovely.. everything so Roswell that I almost felt as if I was watching the Pilot again. And still with some wonderful changes that made the story even more interesting... It is wonderful to be inside Max's head... and to live his romance with Liz all over again... can hardly wait to put my hands on #2!
Rating: Summary: THE BEST BOOK EVER!!! Review: This Book is fun for everyone! No matter what, It keeps you on the edge of your seat!!!
