Summary: Could of been a lot better.
Review: It could of been a little bit better. Make that a lot better. She has the talent of writing, that is very obvious, the only problem is she's using her talented ability's to write stuff that's already been done. This book, in the forests of the night, was a copy of Christopher Pike's last vampire series. Also, I think that she's created her own world, and, although it's a cool one, it still has flaws and non-believable holes which stick out. I think that she herself has created a bunch of work for herself, and although she tries to live up to them and make them flawless, she is unsuccessful.
Anyways, check this book out at the library, don't buy it. It's not worth it.

Summary: An Unbiased Point of View
Review: Ok. let me explain my rating. it was not an AWFUL book. But I did not particularly like it. the way the author went from from past to present was confusing at times. And she over used a few "big" words to the point that it was extremely annoying. I found the main character to be bland and boring. The story itself needed a lot more life. Overall, if you're a fan of Amelia Atwater-Rhodes (which i am) then, read it and form your own opinin. but if you're not a fan of hers or just starting to read her books, do NOT read this one first. It is not very good. ^_^

Summary: Amazing Beginning Book!
Review: The young and intelligent Amelia Atwater-Rhodes has caught my eye in a way that a writer had not in many years. I have always been a vampire fan,(and i feel the need to reccomend all of the vampire books by Anne Rice and The Last Vampire series by Christopher Pike!) anyway, back to ms. atwater-rhodes. she writes in a convincing, descriptive, and captivating. She spins the story of Risika, a girl who had been forced into the dark world of the vampires by people that at the same time took away from her everything she had ever loved. She harbors a hate for Aubrey, the assistant of her maker, Ather. She then becomes one the most powerful vampires, and goes on a journey through the past, everything that Aubrey did to her until the present, until he makes one last transgression, and she challenges him.

this book held my attention until the end, and is a great start for young Atwater-Rhodes. I look forward to her future books with much eagerness.

Summary: Great Book
Review: This was a great start for someone so young. Though I hated the book length this story was stylish. I thought she destroyed the Vampire lore by making them be able to survive the daylight though since Vampires are "night creatures". It was great so I'll give her five stars.

Summary: An Okay Start...
Review: I've already read three of Amelia's books and this one is my least favorite. I still think its good though. It's the most depressing of the three. The main character is Risikia, a human who is changed into a vampire against her will by Ather. She soon becomes enemies with Aubrey, the male vampire that hangs out with Ather( I wonder about Ather, did she change Aubrey too?)
The book tries to make you hate Aubrey(Actually, the more bad stuff he did, the more I started to like him) and I don't know what happened (maybe its just me?) but in the end I end up sympathising with Aubrey and being mad at Risikia. Is this Amelia's fault or is it just me? Either way, if you want to get seriousy depressed(I like these kinds of books...weird, huh?) then I suggest you read it. But if your like my friend(who I won't name here, but she's really sensitive-into "Little House on the Prairie" type stuff) I wouldn't recommend it to you.

Summary: Commanding Attention, Splended book.
Review: This is a wonderful book. The main charachter is strong and quick witted, not one of those slow to catch on gobbidy gook save me types. In the Forests of the Night is a refreashing bit of air, she plunges deep into the reality of wiether or not it even makes sence to hold on to humanity when you are what you are. She shows the sort of charachter I like, Cool and distant yet not so that you get lost in the thought that they don't have feelings. She holds a fiery of anger and a thirst to repay her brothers death, yet it does not hold the gory blood splattering everywhere techneic that some authors believe is an insisted upon for the vampire agenda. it had a very good villan (you know the kind, you LOVE to hate them!) And the ending is full and satisfing. none of the writers block ending-though i do wish for a serius to this. Over all a perfect book, deeply moving with just a touch of the wickedness we all look for in the vampire section. I also recimend ALL of her other books.

Summary: goes beyond...
Review: There are so many words one can use to describe the writing of Amelia Atwater-Rhodes.
Cunning, compelling, intelligent, darkly humorous, satisfying, and unique just to name a few.
Ms. Atwater Rhodes mixes classical folklore with her own twists, and that makes this book simply magnificently enchanting. The book can be used in a classroom because it is not too scary, and with its intelligent use of literary devices, can be read on a higher level than one might anticipate. Its wonderful descriptions created striking pictures which also made the book a joy to read.

Risika, a vampire, explains her story of the journeys she experiences, the conflicts she encounters, and memories of her past that plague her present. All as a modern, offbeat, teenage vampire. Aubrey, the one that changed her is the only vampire she fears. The book skips between past and present, so the reader really gets to know what Risika's life was like as a human, and get to experience the day that she was changed, and plunged into immortal sleep forever. Risika will seal both their fates in the end, but which worthy evil will prevail?

This should be read by young adults, but will certainly not give them nightmares. If Ms. Atwater Rhodes is writing like this at fourteen, she certainly has a very promising career ahead of her. I look forward to reading the other three books she has written. Don't let its cover intimidate you, as it almost did me. This is a book that shouldn't be missed.

Summary: not nearly what the hype makes it up to be.
Review: ...I am completely disenchanted with Ms. Atwater-Rhodes.
It's wonderful that she's written a novel at her age.
Hurrah.
But there is a REASON that so many young writers are not yet published professionally.
She doesn't have the experience. The plot is rather uninspired, the tone is overly pretentious, and the writing is not only needlessly wordy, but also very vague at some points.
It took me an afternoon to read, after which I honestly couldn't pick out a standout part of the narrative. I couldn't remember enough of it to do so.
While her accomplishment is wonderful, her writing has yet to stand up to the challenge of being anything beyond mediocre.
It does give me hope for my self-publishing plans, though.

Summary: It wasnt the best book but..................................
Review: This wasnt the best book, but since the author was 13-yr-old at the time of writing it, that kind of makes it good. I mean if a more experienced author wrote it, that would be bad (u get what Im sayin).

Anyways.............

The books is a bout a 300-yr-old vampire. Its kinda cool because it keeps goin from the past, from when she got changed, to now.
